I was on a flight one time and had a period emergency. I actually BLED onto my seat (it was leather, so it just wiped right off) but the flight attendants were SO nice. They gave be a blanket and loudly said “I know your cold so here’s a blanket” and let me keep myself wrapped while I went to the bathroom. They gave the products I needed, a cup of ice water, and chocolate. Best flight ever 😂

I was like 6. My family didn't ask for it, but im grateful the flight attendant gave it to me because it's one of the best childhood memories i have from traveling as a kid.
Notice the phrase “long haul flight”. When you are on the same plane for 12-16 hours, meals are common. Definitely didn’t know about the second meal. I will keep that in mind for my teenage son!

the first time I traveled with Emirates I had a dessert that was something like a whipped cream texture but yogurt flavor with strawberry jam and chocolate crumbles. it was one of the best things I ever ate. So I was sitting right next to 2 of my sister one 8 one 3 and they were too young to know about periods so I tried not letting them notice cause they are dramatic they would've yelled "oh my god our sisters bleeding!!!" So my mom didn't have her period so she didn't bring any femine products so I asked the flight attendant (girl) and she was sooo nice about it she asked if it was my first period and I nodded she gave me a pad and asked if I knew how to apply it and I said yes thank you afterwards I sat down and she asked if I wanted tea for my cramps and I said yes please and when the flight finished she gave me an extra 4 pads she said just in case I wish I could thank her again she was sooo kind
i remember once, on a flight to disneyworld when i was five, my ears felt clogged, but it was just the pressure. one flight attendent gave my dad a bag of gummy bears for me to chew on to pop my ears. props to that woman, because i probably would have disturbed the whole flight with my crying otherwise lol
One of my favorite memories of my late dad was when I was younger that it was just me and him on a airplane because we got separated from the rest of my family. I remember the plane was extremely cold and I was physically shaking yknow as a 4 yr old would be- a flight attendee noticed and got me a blanket and told me it was a magic blanket and if it would make the 8 hr trip seem like a few minutes. Emirates was the best when we flew with them. I remember sitting next to my younger brother, we were travelling with our mom who was sitting on a different aisle. I was 7 and he was 4, the flight attendants were so nice to us. They kept asking if we neede anything and I remember getting a snack from business class. They kept an eye on us because our mom was seated pretty far away from us. One of them even watched us when we were leaving the plane while we waited for our mom. Really lovely people.
The manni pad gives me a memory when i was on a flight and i literally just HAD to have my period there- I was so embarrassed!!! I called an air hostess i whispered that i needed it!! She was so sweet!! She gave me a blanket, warm herbal tea, and 2 manni pads i really appreciated her!!
I remember on a flight with Emirates they thought I was a young child of like 13-15 and gave me a colouring book and pens as well as a word search booklet to keep me entertained for my flight from Thailand to Abu Dhabi and I happily accepted it (as I love art). I was 18 at the time. I look young for my age so I see why they thought I was a kid. My mum laughed so much. But hey, I was happy and it helped as I have really bad anxiety and a fear of flying.
This brought back a lovely memory of when I flew 16h with Emirates on economy and after service, I approached the flight attendants at the bulkhead and asked politely for another drink and the flight attendants were so kind and lovely and got me a drink and chatted to me a bit. I was a flight-scared teen so this made such a difference in my experience ❤️
I remember when I was 9 it was nighttime and I was just sitting reclining on my seat thinking what to do when I heard someone coming and as an instinct I closed my eyes and acted that I was asleep. It was a crew member and when he saw me he walked back and came with a blanket and put it on top of me. It was really wholesome!

As long as you’re not a jerk of a person flight attendants are seriously sooo nice. On overnight flights I always stay up all night to get all the snacks I can. And on both of my recent international flights(to/fro) they intentionally kept bringing me snacks like 5 min apart. And after they finished giving everyone else some. They came back and gave me the THREE snack cups that were left on the tray, all at once. On one flight during Covid that had a lot less people on it, they told us we could lay down on the middle bench seats to sleep(this happened on multiple flights btw). Of course though I didn’t take them up on that offer bc like I said GOTTA STAY UP FOR 2am SNAAAACKZ! Anyways flight attendants are so awesome and still have to deal with so many annoying and just tired people. Thank you so much to all the flight attendants out there!

I was on a long flight where they served these sort of hot pocket things. They were AMAZING and my sister and I were given a couple extra by the crew. They also let us sit in the very back seats that they used during breaks and what not so we could put our feet up. Super friendly and accommodating crew!!

I’ve actually flown on Emirates before! And I got basically everything! (Expect for pads lol) I got my socks, toothpaste, toothbrush, earphones and earplugs in a little bag. I got a pillow and blanket completely separate from that. Because I was quite young, I got one of them travel bags (which include- colouring crayons, a book etc.). And tbh, I loved Emirates service too! It’s up there with one of the best flights I’ve been on...and I’ve been on a lot...A LOT of Karen’s...

Another tip: Always try to sit in the far back where cabin crew makes meals and drinks and stuff! Since you’re right there, it’s a lot easier for them to get things to you and you can even get a 2nd drink or snack on short flights that only do 1 meal or drink service.

10 years ago, I remember my father coming home from working overseas, he brought with him four small pillows. He told us that he asked one of the flight attendants if he could bring the pillows with him, they said yes so he did. Up until now, we still have them.
When my daughter was 2 or 3 we were on a short flight and one of the flight attendants was so incredibly sweet always saying hi and playing around with my daughter with a little finger puppet and she ended up giving it to her. It was so sweet!
Traveling for many years I can confirm that I did asked to a flight attendant if it was possible to bring me a second meal and the lady was so nice and polite to me, I asked for airplane socks and earplug as well and the attendant was also able to provide me some too🙏

In the short haul flights where a small snack is served, like a sandwich, they do a 2nd round to see if anyone would like more. They have no interest in having leftovers so they will gladly give it out.
the meal suggestion gave me flashbacks to a long flight with British Airways from London to Los Angeles. I was pretty sleepy but seated in front of me was a very large family of 6 kids and the mum was American and the dad was British. They were quite talkative which I thought was funny and I thought it strange how they kept asking for food. The father literally exclaimed to the cabin crew if they could have more meals and my only sibling stared in shock and said “so I COULD have asked for another meal?” The crew were furiously walking up and down to get them their multiple meals. I have never seen so much passive aggressiveness at that level but I thought it was hilarious.
I apparently didn't get much wholesome moments with flight attendants, especially since I barely fly when I travel. But I remembered this one time I was on a trip with my family(we were on a tour so we got separated to different aisles). I was around 7 or something. I got plane sick for the first time of my life sitting at the very back seat of the plane which made it worse due to the shaking of the plane. But thankfully the stranger who sat beside me gave me a plastic bag and helped me wash up, I think a flight attendant helped too! It was one of the most touching moments on the plane and that's why I still remember it since.
Both my older brother and sister got sick while boarding the plane (LITERALLY ON THE STAIRS). I was 7 that time and got so jealous LOL The PILOT HIMSELF shook their hands and the flight attendants gave them both a drink. I should've fakes being sick.
These tips are great! One thing though, we really shouldn't need to be all secretive about female hygiene products, it's a natural process that should be seen as normal (because it is) and not as weird or embarassing
Well, bodily functions (natural processes) in general bring out an embarrassment to many people and not usually a casual topic of discussion because it's intimate and viewed as something that's not other people's business. Imagine someone urinating in the seat and announcing proudly, "MAY I HAVE AN ADULT DIAPER TO CHANGE INTO!? I WET MYSELF!!"

Most people can wait to use the bathroom because of their sphincters to “hold it” which implies some control in most cases. A period involves shedding a lining of blood from the uterus over which there isn’t any control - it just flows. You could use a tampon or menstrual cup to prevent it from leaking onto the seat, but you’re bleeding whether you like it or not. It seems more similar to a sneeze/cough and asking for a tissue after?
I try not to bother the cabin crew. I'll graciously accept a drink when they offer, or buy something from the service cart...but I don't think I have ever asked for anything.
As long as you ask nicely I don't see why you can't ask for something if you'd like it.... They're paid to try and make your flight as comfortable as possible as long as you're respectful and reasonable 🤷🏾♀️
When I use to be a Flight Attendant, we use to have playing cards, but the company eventually stopped making them.. Also for babies, I use to give a First Flight Certificate. Moms loved it… We had it onboard every flight, but not many Flight Attendants cared to give them out
The problem has never been with flight crew. Flight crew are amazing. The problem is usually passengers who think they are entitled. Patience is the key to a good flight. I’ve never had a problem with cabin crew because I am respectful. And I genuinely love them for treating us the best they can. Love and respect to any flight attendant who receives disrespect, just know there are passengers who appreciate you.
The children’s amenity kits made me remember the time when my friend told me that when she was on a plane to Oman, the flight attendant gave her coloring materials for those coloring worksheets, lol we were around 17-18 at that time.
One thing to never forget is be polite to cabin crew and u will get a great service:)

the first time I traveled with Emirates I had a dessert that was something like a whipped cream texture but yogurt flavor with strawberry jam and chocolate crumbles. it was one of the best things I ever ate. I'm glad I always strive to be a nice person, because when I asked for one more the flight attendant gave it to me without thinking twice hahahahah (could have eaten like 5 tho)

One time I got my first period on a flight! And I was already educated before (thanks mom!) And so I knew what pads are tampons how to use them and all that jazz. So I was sitting right next to 2 of my sister one 8 one 3 and they were too young to know about periods so I tried not letting them notice cause they are dramatic they would've yelled "oh my god our sisters bleeding!!!" So my mom didn't have her period so she didn't bring any femine products so I asked the flight attendant (girl) and she was sooo nice about it she asked if it was my first period and I nodded she gave me a pad and asked if I knew how to apply it and I said yes thank you afterwards I sat down and she asked if I wanted tea for my cramps and I said yes please and when the flight finished she gave me an extra 4 pads she said just in case I wish I could thank her again she was sooo kind

One of my favorite memories of my late dad was when I was younger that it was just me and him on a airplane because we got separated from the rest of my family. I remember the plane was extremely cold and I was physically shaking yknow as a 4 yr old would be- a flight attendee noticed and got me a blanket and told me it was a magic blanket and if it would make the 8 hr trip seem like a few minutes.
I fell asleep and I wondered how the blanket was actually magical until today. Thank you for helping me remember my childhood

Emirates was the best when we flew with them. I remember sitting next to my younger brother, we were travelling with our mom who was sitting on a different aisle. I was 7 and he was 4, the flight attendants were so nice to us. They kept asking if we neede anything and I remember getting a snack from business class. They kept an eye on us because our mom was seated pretty far away from us. One of them even watched us when we were leaving the plane while we waited for our mom. Really lovely people.

I remember on a flight with Emirates they thought I was a young child of like 13-15 and gave me a colouring book and pens as well as a word search booklet to keep me entertained for my flight from Thailand to Abu Dhabi and I happily accepted it (as I love art). I was 18 at the time. I look young for my age so I see why they thought I was a kid. My mum laughed so much. But hey, I was happy and it helped as I have really bad anxiety and a fear of flying.

This brought back a lovely memory of when I flew 16h with Emirates on economy and after service, I approached the flight attendants at the bulkhead and asked politely for another drink and the flight attendants were so kind and lovely and got me a drink and chatted to me a bit. I was a flight-scared teen so this made such a difference in my experience ❤️
I remember when I was 9 it was nighttime and I was just sitting reclining on my seat thinking what to do when I heard someone coming and as an instinct I closed my eyes and acted that I was asleep. It was a crew member and when he saw me he walked back and came with a blanket and put it on top of me. It was really wholesome!

As long as you’re not a jerk of a person flight attendants are seriously sooo nice. On overnight flights I always stay up all night to get all the snacks I can. And on both of my recent international flights(to/fro) they intentionally kept bringing me snacks like 5 min apart. And after they finished giving everyone else some. They came back and gave me the THREE snack cups that were left on the tray, all at once. On one flight during Covid that had a lot less people on it, they told us we could lay down on the middle bench seats to sleep(this happened on multiple flights btw). Of course though I didn’t take them up on that offer bc like I said GOTTA STAY UP FOR 2am SNAAAACKZ! Anyways flight attendants are so awesome and still have to deal with so many annoying and just tired people. Thank you so much to all the flight attendants out there!

I was on a long flight where they served these sort of hot pocket things. They were AMAZING and my sister and I were given a couple extra by the crew. They also let us sit in the very back seats that they used during breaks and what not so we could put our feet up. Super friendly and accommodating crew!!

I’ve actually flown on Emirates before! And I got basically everything! (Expect for pads lol) I got my socks, toothpaste, toothbrush, earphones and earplugs in a little bag. I got a pillow and blanket completely separate from that. Because I was quite young, I got one of them travel bags (which include- colouring crayons, a book etc.). And tbh, I loved Emirates service too! It’s up there with one of the best flights I’ve been on...and I’ve been on a lot...A LOT of Karen’s...

Another tip: Always try to sit in the far back where cabin crew makes meals and drinks and stuff! Since you’re right there, it’s a lot easier for them to get things to you and you can even get a 2nd drink or snack on short flights that only do 1 meal or drink service.

10 years ago, I remember my father coming home from working overseas, he brought with him four small pillows. He told us that he asked one of the flight attendants if he could bring the pillows with him, they said yes so he did. Up until now, we still have them.

In the short haul flights where a small snack is served, like a sandwich, they do a 2nd round to see if anyone would like more. They have no interest in having leftovers so they will gladly give it out.
the meal suggestion gave me flashbacks to a long flight with British Airways from London to Los Angeles. I was pretty sleepy but seated in front of me was a very large family of 6 kids and the mum was American and the dad was British. They were quite talkative which I thought was funny and I thought it strange how they kept asking for food. The father literally exclaimed to the cabin crew if they could have more meals and my only sibling stared in shock and said “so I COULD have asked for another meal?” The crew were furiously walking up and down to get them their multiple meals. I have never seen so much passive aggressiveness at that level but I thought it was hilarious.

I apparently didn't get much wholesome moments with flight attendants, especially since I barely fly when I travel. But I remembered this one time I was on a trip with my family(we were on a tour so we got separated to different aisles). I was around 7 or something. I got plane sick for the first time of my life sitting at the very back seat of the plane which made it worse due to the shaking of the plane. But thankfully the stranger who sat beside me gave me a plastic bag and helped me wash up, I think a flight attendant helped too! It was one of the most touching moments on the plane and that's why I still remember it since.
Both my older brother and sister got sick while boarding the plane (LITERALLY ON THE STAIRS). I was 7 that time and got so jealous LOL The PILOT HIMSELF shook their hands and the flight attendants gave them both a drink.

These tips are great! One thing though, we really shouldn't need to be all secretive about female hygiene products, it's a natural process that should be seen as normal (because it is) and not as weird or embarassing

Most people can wait to use the bathroom because of their sphincters to “hold it” which implies some control in most cases. A period involves shedding a lining of blood from the uterus over which there isn’t any control - it just flows. You could use a tampon or menstrual cup to prevent it from leaking onto the seat, but you’re bleeding whether you like it or not.

I try not to bother the cabin crew. I'll graciously accept a drink when they offer, or buy something from the service cart...but I don't think I have ever asked for anything.
I think the most I asked for was a blanket because I was super cold. I didn't realize you had to give it back, so I took it with me. Oops, lol
As long as you ask nicely I don't see why you can't ask for something if you'd like it.... They're paid to try and make your flight as comfortable as possible as long as you're respectful and reasonable 🤷🏾♀️

When I use to be a Flight Attendant, we use to have playing cards, but the company eventually stopped making them..
Also for babies, I use to give a First Flight Certificate. Moms loved it… We had it onboard every flight, but not many Flight Attendants cared to give them out

The problem has never been with flight crew. Flight crew are amazing. The problem is usually passengers who think they are entitled. Patience is the key to a good flight. I’ve never had a problem with cabin crew because I am respectful. And I genuinely love them for treating us the best they can. Love and respect to any flight attendant who receives disrespect, just know there are passengers who appreciate you.
There’s plenty of flight attendants who are bitches and you just bend over for them

The children’s amenity kits made me remember the time when my friend told me that when she was on a plane to Oman, the flight attendant gave her coloring materials for those coloring worksheets, lol we were around 17-18 at that time.
