    i wish it offered split view in a vertical orientation so that top and bottom are separated. I can see this being really helpful for a vertical monitor orientation.

    I love using macOS, however I think this particular feature is implemented much more intuitively in most linux distributions. However, apple being apple, they will keep it the way it is.

    Love it! For the next upgrade of MacOS, if Apple can make the trackpad completely separated from the mouse for the natural scrolling option, things would be even better. When I unchecked that option for my mouse, it automatically unchecked that option for the trackpad too, which reversed the direction of my scrolling for the trackpad, when I only wanted that for the mouse. A little bit disappointed, but for now, I'm still liking it. Just switch from Windows to Mac :)

    I used to use three fingers gestures to snap windows left or right and even on corners of the screen.. in windows 11.. I feel disappointed that such small facility isn't available in macOS. Yes, third part apps are there which provide such facility.. but native programs bave different efficiency and third party apps drain battery faster.

    Magnet app has been around for a while and works on older version of Mac OS. I still find it hard to justify the need of split view consider Mac OS is multitasking multi window OS. You can resize windows and remember windows positions. You can drag element between windows by using combined key strokes. Not every features have to be right in front of the eyes. Control option keys combination with drag and drops has been working well for many years.

      @brucecheng7856 I beg to differ here. I feel there is a need for Spilt View especially if you need to copy information found on the internet to a blank Microsoft Word Document for example.

    Windows 11 had this since it's first beta release in June 2021, and not only split screen, but also other combinations like 4 small windows, or one big and two small at the sides.

    This is great! I've been using third-party utilities to do this for years in OSX. But please go further with this, and pretty much copy Window's snap management system, then add that Apple flavor to that please to make it even better in macOS. Since we generally have so much more screen real estate in OSX than we do in IOS, it would be great to be able to split the screen in 3 or 4 zones instead of just 2. Thanks for adding this, though.

      Even Mac has had it for a long time btw. The Mac I used previously(I now use windows for gaming) is from 2015 and has that feature. I think the one on the windows feels more intuitive. The point of this video was just to show people that their macs could do it, they just used MacOS Monterey to show it, it isn’t advertised as a new feature. I knew I would find a comment like this lol.

    Can it be 4 splits like in windows?

    • @applesupport
      @applesupport  2 года назад

      That is a great question. Split View allows you to fill your Mac screen with two Apps. We have a link here with information regarding Split View. s.apple.com/dE0w5u0E4c

    During my Masters Degree assignments i'd have 15 side by side apps/ pdfs/ browser sessions open. No latency issues what so ever from just 16gb ram. Nothing can beat this level of productivity.

      "15 side by side apps pdfs and browsers"
      Literally the unless you're using some kind of 3D rendering application, PDFs and Browsers are not something to brag about on 16gb of ram.
      "I bought a huge bag and fit 15 pens, pencils and a pocket calculator"

      Thanks for reaching out, we know how important this is to you. If you haven’t already, we recommend running First Aid in Disk Utility while started up into macOS Recovery: s.apple.com/dE0n3T8G1b
      If you're still having this issue, you can put a fresh copy of macOS on your Mac using macOS Recovery mode, as that will overwrite these system files causing the issue: s.apple.com/dE0q4u4M8w
      If you need further assistance with this, please contact Apple directly here: apple.co/GetSupport

    Can I split views using only one browser? Ex: I want to split views from 2 websites I opened (both i opened in chrome)

    • @applesupport
      @applesupport  2 года назад

      Thanks for reaching out. We want to help. Split View is designed to be used with two apps so this would not work with two websites on a single browser. Questions? Reach out here: apple.co/GetSupport
