Fantastic video!! Being a Bristol boy myself I am so proud of these two. Thanks so much for posting this...you are a legend!! But you know what? The saddest thing of all is the fact that the city itself fails to acknowledge these two famous sons of Bristol . And that is a crime! Bristol should be celebrating and honouring these two great gentlemen with some sort of gesture? A statue and/ or plinth in the centre of Bristol? A musical arts school named after them? Just something would be most appropriate and most deserving of these two brilliant troubadours. Bristol council need to wake up and smell the coffee!!!!! Good God! If these two had been liverpool lads there would be some sort of monument erected in recognition of their incredible achievements!!! SHAME ON BRISTOL!!!!!
I suddenly realised that I'd known of the Cook-Greenaway partnership for nearly 50 years but apart from 'Teach The World To Sing' I couldn't think of anything else they'd written. So I came here. I've now spent 12 minutes thinking 'That was theirs?' over and over again. What legends!
I Have a lot of them already on vinyl and just received the melting pot album of blue mink's songs. Now on my I tunes player. Missing Herbie Flowers too. A true legend.
Just fabulous! These two songwriters should be megastars? Why have they been left out from the lime-light? They have been involved with over 120 world-wid hits.
I recently rediscovered ‘softly whispering I love you’, a favourite in my early teens but I had only heard it on radios of the day. I played it through Bose headphone. Wow! what a fantastic song. The voices are beautiful. Then to discover all these other songs written by Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway, what a surprise, many of my favourites.
Being over picky here (maybe picked up on b4 me) but When you are a King and Banner Man were hits in summer of 1971 not 72 (UK) However that aside great selection of songs that left me surprised at some.
What?? Think you’ve left out the most Catchy tune they ever wrote ( Su Cheyenne - This is your life Timmy Lea) Theme song from confessions of a window cleaner movie 🎥 classic
Sûrement le top des musiciens compositeurs à la fin des années 60's et début 70's, ♥ beaucoup leurs œuvres

Absolutely Sensational Song Writing Duo from the Sixties/Seventies. Simply THE Very Best. 💜😪💔
I never realised so many hits in the 70's were written by this partnership. Clearly very talented indeed! They wrote about everything!

Great to see some footage of The Pipkins doing "Gimme Dat Ding" and also The Fortunes doing "Storm In A Teacup". Just fabulous!
Also check out their 60s and 80s megamixes. Nice to know you enjoyed my Cookaway compilations.
Bristol's most underrated sons.
loved watching that, and to see that Barry Mason had co-wrote a couple of the songs as well, plus one with Les Reed

It's funny that they keep popping up as performers in their hits too! Spare some talent for the rest of us, guys!
