How would you grade this kick?
kicked it like a girl
D- and that’s being generous.
Shoutout to her, cool story, but an F-tier kick if she wasn't trying to do an onside, C-tier if she was. I'm sure she could get better with practice, they were saying she's a soccer player, so that'll take some adjusting.
Well they called for a mortar kick to try and recover it, so they didn't let her rip it.

Could have pulled 20 dudes off the baseball team to kick better than this.
Never heard of a squib kick ?
Nah any dude off the steet
My lazy ass laying in bed could kick better

Announcers have zero credibility after that call
Their job is to fluff the team. They also don't want to get fired for telling the truth.
The announcers reactions to it were the best. I've never seen someone try to justify something so obviously bad. I feel bad for laughing as hard as I did.
"Catch em off guard!" 🤣😅
Just say you don’t know shit about football bro lmao. That is clearly an intentional squib kick
@upsidedown6096
*NOPE!!!*
You can hold your head up proudly, cause that was either hilarious or utterly ridiculous!!!
Every time it's a female kicker it "comes up short" and "assumed" to be a pooch or onside kick attempt.
Imagine what would have happened if the receiver dropped it and JS recovered. She'd have been the special teams player of the year.
Did the announcers really just try and cover up for her and say she tried to catch them off guard with an onside kick?? Hahahah
Guarantee there was a skill player who could have kicked better than that. This isn’t making history…this is embarrassing
100% This is agenda driven. Extra chromosome agenda.
It's virtue signaling nonsense. If somehow there wasn't a guy already on the team who could kick more than 20 yards and therefore they had to get somebody they could go to the men's soccer team and find someone to do PK.
Something historically bad is still historic
They literally could have gotten any of the men on the men's soccer team. They decided it would be better to go woke and give the team the ball on the 38 yard line for their first drive.
It did make history.. history based on how bad and sad it was.
MVP for the other team.
"The first kick is short"...well....that's an understatement. At least she made no negative yards.
Don't be misogynistic! Clearly it was a wokeside kick, bigot! 😂
Ladies were not doing this today. Take all your gender identities and feel comfortable on the bus with whatever you call that bullshit.
Having her do full kicks with a brace on is insane 😅
That's why she didn't fully kick it.
@James225 No. She didn't fully kick it because she's a woman, this is a woke stunt and an absolute joke.
@10thletter40
That’s the first thing that came to my mind!!!
It’s the most likely reason that she didn’t follow through on the kick!!!
Her leg stopped just as soon as she made contact with the ball!!!
There’s no way she had the ability to perform a kick off!!!!
Her leg should have at least been level with her hip as she kicked that ball!!!
The kick she made would barely move the soccer ball any more than it did the football!
@@DevotedDisciple-x Nah, even the women soccer players I know kick that harder. She had no follow through and hit it 20 yds. Any female soccer player can hit it 40 yd if they are somewhat competent

Great Onside Kick!💀
And it wasn't even great for an onside kick. It went about 25 yards....LOL
Middle school kids kick farther.
I like how the commentary tried to cover for her saying they were going for a pooch kick when all damn well know she tried to kick it off 😆
Everyone on both teams gave her a pat on the butt for that kick.
They are absolutely insane. She just had 20+ sexual assault cases and lawsuits there.
@@DevotedDisciple-x what? patting your team mate on the butt in football is sexual assault? i just saw a guy do it to another guy few times last saturday!
@@SgtJoeSmith It's a completely normal tradition in men's sports. But I'm saying, how long until we get the "me too" nonsense labelled on a group of young men for doing it to a female player? This woke, virtue signalling nonsense has to stop. It's embarrassing for women, annoying for men and is ruining the sport the more it goes on.
@nothingleft3473 well I agree with what your saying but shouldn't women be treated equally as men in men's sports? Otherwise she will complain everyone else gets a pat on butt by coach except her so coach is discriminating or sexist.
That's the problem. You are plucked if you do and plucked if you don't. They let men in women's clothes on women's teams in women's locker rooms. Does she use same locker room as men?
In late 80s in Jr high. This chunky girl that looked like fat boy was center on Jr high football team. She had to change alone in bathroom or something. I agree with you on the me too bs. But honestly if a girl wants to be on men's team she should share same locker room and same pats on butt or whatever. And anyone acting like she different or making comments in locker room kicked off team. I mean we all know what a naked woman looks like as adult and they all know what a man looks like. So just act like you all room mates and shower together and high five for good game.
But like you said. That'll never happen. Liberals looking to sue over anything they can.

The point is we shouldn't be harsh on other people but trying to find excuses or making a whole story around someone's failures only humiliate them even more.
It was a wokeside kick.
Right on the mark. The Emperor has no clothes, but in today's "woke" America, no one dare say so. The most pathetic part of this was the announcers' "woke" analysis.
Then start speaking up. We live in that society because of cowards who won't voice what they really think. I'm not saying silence is violence. I'm simply saying let's bring back speak your mind on scientific biological and physiological facts.

Was she wearing a knee brace?
I'm all for inclusion, but this is starting to go too far. If you're going to let a female kick, at least make sure she's not just recovering from an ACL injury. You can't make me believe that a college football team couldn't find a player on the roster who can at least kick the ball off. I guess it won't be stopped until one of these young ladies get seriously injured and unfortunately, at some point it's going to happen. smh
I agree, and it also fuels the side of "Girl's can't play mens sports". I believe a woman could absolutely kick the ball. I just don't believe they could tackle if they had to. To that point though, I don't think many kickers can tackle if they had to. Like, sure, a man could probably kick it much further but if you could find a female that could kick it 45ish yards consistently... more consistently than a man that could kick it 60 yards, she would be more valuable. Maybe even as another kicker that just has some crazy 95% success rate. I don't know that such a female would ever exist but in the world of football, where you cannot touch the kicker, a female could be effective.
There's a reason it was "once called" men's sports. They have full contact female football leagues if a woman is that passionate about football. Sometimes the word "no" (as in you can't play football with men) is in everyone's best interest, but somehow people have become afraid to use that word in fear of backlash. I don't care because I would tell my daughter "HELL NO" if she asked me to play men's football. See there, I myself just said "men's football" instead of just football. @@megadeuce-b7c
I've never had a vested interest in HBCU sports teams until Deion Sanders short but successful run in Jackson State and I'll tell you, most of those schools are underfunded, mismanaged, mired with constant authority changes because of scandals or not wanting to bear the responsibility of building up the university and just overall incompetence. You would NEVER see this with a university in contract with a Power 5 Conference but you would be shocked at how abysmal these sports teams are run. I'm amazed at how Deion was even able to transform the culture of JSU in the mere 2 years he was there.
You should also know that a lot of HBCU coaches despised Deion. I call it the Buck and the Preacher network because all they do is rotate the coaching carousel with all those old black coaches, or their sons, grandsons and nephews. He came in fresh and stirred the pot and made some real enemies. He came in winning and the only games most HBCUs care about is their classic and homecoming games. He proved that with the right coaching there are some really good athletes and winners at HBCUs. @@TheyCallMeSledge
This is where it went too far? Not Lia Thomas?
No matter who it is how they gonna have a kicker with a knee brace on the kicking leg out there kicking?
Any of the 2nd string guys could've kicked it twice as far.
That was no onside kick. You can see she took a full leg swing and almost whiffed on it, unintentionally putting a huge amount of spin on it.
Everyone looked like HS football. So its normal to see a kick that goes 20 yards from a kickoff from black schools
No it's not normal lmao there are kickers at my local high schools that can hit 40-50 yard field goals.
Right? Because we all know that Black people are poor athletes! 😅
I was expecting the commentary to say the same thing they said in The Longest Yard when Brucie had to do the onside kick 😭
You know they all be laughing 😂
JSU scored 2, 6, 6, and 8 in each respective quarter. I'm presuming no points came from kicking. And for someone with "experience", that's pretty shitty...
The coach had NO FAITH in her after seeing that kick for the first time. They weren't gonna repeat that fiasco. 😂
My question is, who did the kickoffs and punts after that point and why didn't they use him in the first place?
Yeah, I'm sure they were going for an onside kick.......
The famous number for onside kicks, 25 yards. Can't believe teammates couldn't get that absolute beaty of an "onside"
I have literally kicked the ball 25 yards on a tee just goofing around, and I am in no way a football player. You mean no guy on the team could do that? Hilarious. And the poor announcers were too scared to say it was a shank, which is what they would have said for any guy.
ultimate laughter hold of all time by the announcer! kudos on that actually!
"Fire Harrison Butker! Put a chick in his spot!"
Yeah, show'im how it's done, girlie!
A pooch? 😂 trying to protect this girl... That kick sucked azz!!!
he said the first kick is short...I think he meant 'shit'.
Does anyone really think that was supposed to be an on-side kick?
The announcers weren't very informed on this one. The JSU coach probably told her to squib kick it. If she kicks it long, there is a big chance she would have to face a blocker. He didn't want to end up at the top of sportcenter fails for seeing this girl get blasted or them running back the kick-off.
The kicker on my son's JV 8th grade team kicks better than that. Not even the good 8th grade kicker.....
That was an awesome onside kick

You love to see it. This isn't even feminisms final form.
First time ever, the kicking team was caught by surprise with an onside kick.

This is why we have sentences like “throws like a girl” and now “kicks like a girl”

I love the way the broadcast guy says.....we are........under way! lol😂 then they both try to throw in the possibility of an oneside or pooch kick trick play 😆
Imagine your coach willingly playing 10 men on kickoff
This video description shortchanged us....there's way more history here than a girl suiting up as kicker for Jackson State. Based on that kick she probably is already history.
Do we have to wait until a woman ends up in ICU battling for her life before we stop this stupid stuff?
If by some miracle that ball was in play, she is a live target to be taken out, and taken out she would be, unless there are instructions not to. Then we have to ask, is this junk even real and worthy of anyone’s time and money?

1. Why is a white woman playing for an HBCU?
2. What coach would let a kicker come out with a knee brace. I could see any other position. But the kicker?
if your kicker comes on the field in a knee brace, you know you are in trouble
I’m sorry that was NOT an onside kick. It was an actual attempt at kicking off downfield and as everyone can see it didn’t go well.
Went exactly as was expected.
Amazing how every time a female comes out to kick the ball, it's assumed to have been a pooch kick or onside kick. Also amazing that the female soccer team had someone available, but the male soccer team didn't.
Totally not virtue signalling anywhere here.
History was made but not the good kind. She played because they had to virtual signal that woman can play with men when they know they can't. Just look at how bad her kick was. Don't tell me it was an onside kick. No team starts the game with an onside kick. Also, don't tell me they don't have a man that could kick from their soccer team. Boo Jackson St for going woke instead of standing for reality.
You are correct sir. But to the shame of everything real, woke is more important to far too many.
Reminds me of Patrice ONeal's bit about the javelin thrower in the special Olympics...."Oh...wow.....2 feet......YAAYYYY"
That wouldn't even make it to the end of my driveway, what a croc. Enough virtue signaling.
That was an attempt at a real kick. It was definitely not an onside kick attempt because of the formation and because of the way she struck the ball and the fact that she clearly tried to kick it up in the air. Every rational person knows this. 95% of the guys watching in the stadium could have kicked it better than she did... with no training and no practice. Just by walking up to the ball cold and kicking it.
There’s even a brace on the kicking leg. Good for her and I wish her success in soccer, but that wasn’t a pooch kick.
It was worse than Sarah fuller😭😭
Hell the couldn't find a trans chic on campus to do this?
A pooch kick is used when the return team has a severe advantage over the kicking team. It’s not used to catch the opponent “off guard “
I thought this was a joke..
If the wildcats didn't recover it she would have gotta praise for that...unfortunately
In the realm of onsides kicks, that's almost exactly what your looking for, except I think you'd want more chaotic bounces before it hits their hands.
@@megadeuce-b7c Most opposing coaches even in mid-major level know the formation of an onside kick when they see one and will be ready for it. This was most certainly a kickoff gone awry.

She did not. Not even an extra point. They conveniently went for two every time they got a touchdown.
When I was in grade school, the best athlete in school was a girl. She could do it all and happened to be the smartest and most talented person as well.
Unfortunately, the girl in this video was playing with MEN, while injured, and had no business being in the game.
Let’s go Jackson state! Thee I love
And that is exactly the result I expected 🤣
Good for her - as a guy with a competitive spirit, I'll accept most challenges that come my way. No shame in her saying yes when she was asked and going out there and doing it.
My only issue is the logic of having specifically *her* as the kicker in this game. She's subbing for an injured college level football kicker. Why on earth replace him with an injured women's soccer player? No other healthy teammates of hers that could have been selected? No healthy athletes from the men's team? It's just weird to pick the one with the ACL still in recovery.
They obviously picked her because they wanted to virtue signal but knew the women would do terrible. With her having an injury they can use that as an excuse for the poor performance. I don't sugar coat and I damn sure don't coddle feelings. That garbage builds woke, weak people and we have enough of that as it is.

In all seriousness, kicking at a mid college level is totally within reach for an excellent female athlete. But you won't find many excellent female athletes who want to play mid level college football instead of high-level women's sports. Obviously some random soccer player with one week of practice is going to be terrible. I'm surprised they had no better alternative
