Aww this looks so cute!! I’m glad that Netflix is doing more stories about tweens, in this era when teens are hypersexualized is good to remind tweens and even teens themselves to not grow too fast and enjoy being a kid 💖
The musical actually talks about very mature content and hooking up and stuff so I’m surprised this looks so pg

@@YenellyT Yes, but it reflects more how tweens look at that stuff than just being sexual. And a big theme is that you shouldn’t try to push too hard to grow up or to be popular and you should just enjoy life.
Will it be shown in Middle East?

If they were given the opportunity to cameo in this, I would make them either high schoolers to Appleton Middle school or as the older sisters to their old role counterparts.

I love 13 the musical and I was so excited for this but when I watched it… it sucked. I feel like they made a joke out of the musical they got rid of so many of the good songs and added in crappy ones instead. Also they made it more for kids. They changed it up so much and didn’t add in some of the major plot line. Overall I think it was the worst musical movie adaptation I’ve ever seen. Wouldn’t recommend
They cut out Hey Kendra and all hail the brain and most of the jokes such a shame

Me personally I heard from other cast members (my school did this musical as well) I’ve heard a lot of trash talk about it, ima be real I’m not to excited. And as one of the actors in the production being Archie I’m not too happy about him being in a wheel chair (even though they probably have a reliable reason for this, if so I won’t complain about it anymore), and I heard the ending wasn’t as good as the broadway one, instead of Lucy technically winning she just gets thrown out and they have a the bar mitzvah, also apparently they left out some features in the broadway version, it’s kinda a shame that they did this, but I’m one person, and this is only an opinion

I wanna cry. This musical made me want to be a theater actor, and now I'm stuck for life haha. I wanna cry. 2022 was the perfect time to revive this musical.
this movie was such a horrible downgrade from the original, everything genuine was taken away and half of the characters stort lines were erased, if this is what the inductry thinks people want, they are horribly mistaken
Fun Fact: My Birthday is on August 12 and I'm Jewish and If they did it last year, it would have been on my Bar Mitzvah.
This actually almost made me cry. My father grew up with the writer of the actual show, (Jason Robert Brown) and he is a family friend, I am so happy for him!
JRB is my favorite composer. His rhythms and rhymes are spectacular!

@@kpopggfan2524 For the most part, I liked the casting. It was a great way to revise the story, but I did not like how the best songs were taken out. The cast, though, did great for the material they received. Especially the side characters, such as Brett's goons. Which surprised me a lot

I was so obsessed with this musical as a teen!! I just finished the movie and it was soooo cute. It brought back so many memories! I just wish they had kept some songs (Any Minute, How to be a Friend) which were some of my faves in the original.
I almost shed some tears with A Little More Homework! That one used to hit so hard and still does. 💖

Just watched this and I’m so disappointed they cut out so many of the songs from the show! Like cutting all of archie’s songs, cutting brett’s song for Kendra and cutting out ‘what it means to be a friend’ ?! Not cool. It’s a great cast but I’m not happy that half the original songs are cut…
I hope this turns out good! The OG broadway cast were phenomenal singers. Let's see how well the material holds up too after all these years.
Oh the OG definitely holds up. A lot of it is even funnier to me as an adult, and I even have a greater appreciation for the songs now which are pure genius. Can’t say the reboot does it justice though but I’m glad 13 is alive and well at least
I did the musical when I was 10. and it’s finally being adapted into a movie with actual kid actors

They made the cool kids so likable and Patrice so unlikable, and Evan never comes to terms with it being ok to not be cool as long as he follows his own moral compass. This movie sucked.

I am so excited. I remember going to see 13 on broadway on my own 13th birthday. Now I'm 26 and I have such happy memories of this show. I am so happy they cast age-appropriate actors and the music sounds so good. As unrealistic as it may be I do hope we get some OBC cameos.

Just watched it and it wasn't that good to me, changed some of the songs, cut some out. It had its moments and a couple laughs.

you should listen to the original broadway cast album. The writer/lyricist has many great musicals. Fun Fact: Ariana Grande was in the original cast at 13 years old
