I'm planning a trip back to Manchester in July. I spoke with my friend about my concern regarding central Manchester. He asked why i thought Manchester was as dodgy as i thought it might be and i mentioned Charlie Veitch.

I remember the early 1990's when Manchester was famous for it's individuality, it's raw talent birthing music legends, it's famous club & rave scene: The Hacienda, The Herbal Tea Party and it's regular Megadog nights at Manchester Academy. Piccadilly Gardens were actually 'gardens' back then too. It was a special place, ruined by it's own conformity to the clauses of the devils contract which it signed in blood to obtain the filthy lucre.

Man, over the years I’ve thought Crutchie was a douche, then I’ve had sympathy for him, then he was a douche again, then he died, then he resurrected, then I felt bad for him, then I had hope for him, and lately he’s been a douche again. It’s been quite a journey. When I visited Manchester and saw him sitting outside Lidl I felt like I was seeing a celebrity.
For people like crutchie it's just a pure lack of impulse control, made worse by the drugs/alcohol. Imagine the most impulsive thing you did in the past that you regret, and now imagine being in that frame of mind all the time. He lives moment to moment with no thought about where he will be 5 minutes from now, let alone next week.
