Were the police right to hit the cow?
NO
Absolutely not, it was reckless behaviour…
My first call would have been to the RSPCA, or, if I was a local… a vet, or lastly a farmer… and if I couldn’t contact anyone from RSPCA, VET, FARMER… the police would have been at the bottom of my list to deal with a cow wandering/blocking the street/area.
It just goes to show that the only thing under a policeman's helmet is his sandwiches.
Certainly not. The officer who did that should be prosecuted for dangerous driving and cruelty to animals and then sacked. He or she is clearly not fit to make front line quick decisions so is not capable of working as a police officer. If he was under instruction then whoever else was instructing should be sacked too. Terrible actions.

That’s the first time I’d seen what happened to the cow physically. It looked horrific. We are so far removed from these animals we obviously don’t know how to treat them.

40+ years ago when I was in high school my friends and I went to one friend's house after school ended. Her pregnant sister came out of the house next door where she lived and informed us that the cow had got out of it's pen and was in the street, so we 4 teenage girls went and played cowboy and got the cow back in it's pen. If four teenage girls with no training or muscle could do it, why couldn't the police do it without hitting the cow?
Simple … Because you were lovely teenagers but the police are pathetic Berkshire hunts.

Look to your own country for a lifetime of misfits, all able to sound sincere and waffle on about trivia... whilst avoiding any REAL look at sorting out ACTUAL problems. A look at George Galloway, Andrew Bridgen and Nigel Farage offer not a lot of posh polish, but does seem to be attached to most of us with ordinary lives need to be happy and well.
Trump was the man that relieved of a lot of robbery on Diesel, Petrol, Gas etc. Your blinkered oversight of what happened whilst Trump was in power shows where your sight has probably been guided - i.e. you don't like the look of Trump, "Trump Bad Man" being the incomplete mantra, as the world saw NO new wars, right up to day one with Biden, and a catastrophic hike in ALL the Energy products for an encore, which formly kept us comfortable and financially afloat... gone in a few mad months, if not weeks.

The USA presidential candidates are not chosen by the public… it is determined by a complicated political process… not the public… the largest determining factor is influential money, then political,support, industry lobbyists and then a long way down on the ladder of political influence… USA voters.

A farmer took me out in his battered landrover to gather his cows for milking, I was shocked when the farmer drove into the cows to steer them to the open gate, The thuds of cow on metal and huge dips in the field was an experience I never repeated.
Well done to Peter. I'm a man who is sick of the rest of us failing to call out blokes who pull on a dress and think they can stroll into women's toilets.
Camilla Tominey interviewed one a couple of weeks ago. Despite looking and sounding distinctly male, he claimed he had a certificate claiming he was a woman and it was discriminatory if anyone challenged him for using women's facilities.
The arrogance and narcissism of this berk, that the whole world should see him as he sees himself was breathtaking. All right, he maybe isn't a threat to women but excluding him prevents anyone that is from entering that space. It's a small sacrifice for him to make to keep women safe.

Read today's Mail on Sunday where nurses have been forced to share a changing room with someone who says they are transgender.
They complained he was staring at them and were told by their bosses they needed to re-educate themselves. They are taking it to a tribunal.

It is not the first time the police have used the wrong tactic to get an animal under control. September 2021, a rare white deer was shot dead by police after it was spotted running through the streets of a town. People in Bootle, Merseyside were shocked when they saw the wild animal roaming about on Sunday morning.
The RSPCA said it had advised police to "leave the deer as it would make its own way back home" eventually. But Merseyside Police said officers decided to euthanise the deer after growing concerns it might be dangerous for motorists and pedestrians. The force said it first received reports of the fallow buck running along various roads at about 08:45 BST on Sunday. Armed response officers were able to secure it on an industrial estate. The animal became distressed, police said. As a result a decision was made in the early evening to euthanise the deer.
