- Retired U.S. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, who served as Secretary of State Colin Powell’s chief of staff from 2002 to 2005, says the escalation of tensions between the U.S. and Iran today is a continuation of two decades of U.S. policy disasters in the Middle East, starting with the 2003 run-up to war with Iraq under the Bush administration. “America exists today to make war. How else do we interpret 19 straight years of war and no end in sight? It’s part of who we are. It’s part of what the American Empire is,” says Wilkerson. “We are going to cheat and steal to do whatever it is we have to do to continue this war complex. That’s the truth of it. And that’s the agony of it.”

Just another episode of "The Amy Presents Crap and please send money show"! This is a BS anti-Israel propaganda channel. No objective reporting of news found here. The only objective I've noticed here is to report anti-Israel propaganda. Every story is meant to demonize Israel, period. I would think that the UN reporting that it received inflated casualty stats regarding the number of civilian Palestinians that have lost their lives s war would actually have been good news, albeit embarrassing to the supplier of the incorrect stats [Hamas provided the figures]. Please comment and correct me if I'm wrong but I never saw this reported on this channel. Additionally, I would think that the BBC also admitting it had overstated the number of Palestinian civilian deaths in this war would have been news, in fact good news for Palestinians, but again, I saw no mention of this by this channel. The internet can be a powerful tool for incitement and incitement leads to increased death and misery for both Palestinians and Israelis as well as young impressionable "students" on both sides of the fence. Supporting this channel is supporting violence and terror. And Amy, the talking head for this crap channel is also a piece of work.

I can remember trying to figure out duck-and-cover exercises in the 50s and the Korean war. I was in the second grade when I figured out that the US was a warmongering state. I met both Harry Truman and Richard Nixon in the 50s (as a child). Before that I lived in Nevada with 150 above-ground atomic tests. During the Vietnam war, I became convinced of what Col. Wilkerson is saying.
Trump reminds me of Hitler in the bunker with impeachment and his crimes being exposed. Trump will cling to power until the bitter end as his best and only legal defense. War powers are extraordinary. War is Trump's very best defense.
I the city of Seattle Washington the legislature made it illegal to provide bomb shelters only the politicians will be safe, the public they can find for themselve.

I remember the "duck and cover" exercises, too. My dad was in the USAF from 1950-1971 and toward the end of his career we lived near a major air base, one that the Soviets would have certainly launched a warhead or two at in the event of war. It was years before it occurred to me that the purpose of "D&C" was a (lame) attempt to let us children "hide" from the incoming blast waves (heat, EMP, etc) of an atomic explosion. The school was close enough to the base that it was basically "ground zero." There's no way in hell any of us would have survived a 20-50 megaton nuke going off that close by.
@@tonyjones1560 You were lucky enogh not to live near a base where a nuclear accident happened. And a lot of them did happen with burning nuclear bombs, plames on flames , lost uranium or plutonium, plenty of contamination, cases of cancer ... all duly covered up, swept under the carpet denied or played down in teh name of you know what. Palomares and Thule are just two outstanding cases with contamination hanging on until now and for a millenium to come if not longer. But one case stuck in my mind because of a school near a US nuclear base. Greenham Common in Englnd, some 50 miles from London. On the 28th of February 1958, a B-47E jettisoned its two 1,700 gallon external fuel tanks that hit B-47E carrying a 1.1 megaton (4.6 PJ) B28 nuclear bomb. Radioactivity is detectable there until now but no evacuation or extensive cleaning took place while a report warning of the dangers was suppressed by the UK government for teh sake of the 'special relationship". Later flight shows ere organzied on the (contaminated) airfield for the public. At the same time in the nearby school children developed cancer at an unprecedented rate. But who cared ?
@@januszkowalski5345 No argument! It might actually have been a mercy to have been nuked by the Soviets compared to what you've described here. A sure sign that it's time to head for the exit, if at all possible, is when government officials show up insisting that "there's no reason to be concerned" but they're rocking the latest in HAZMAT fashion...assuming that those officials are even willing to go and see for themselves, let alone face up to the situation and try to help.

@@hakunamatata887 I think the policy to create enemies is part of the plan. It's a great policy if you invest in the weapons industry. Firing million dollar missiles at children is the ultimate consumer consumption because it makes them disposable and in need of replacement. The taxpayer votes to cover the cost. It's the horrific culmination of the American dream. It's not a recent thing either, it's just more dangerous at the moment because Trump is a global liability.
