I respect Floyd Mayweather Sr because he fought the best fighters back in his day... He's not a bad fighter because he lost, Sugar Ray Lenard is a legend and Floyd Sr fought his heart out and he also is a great fighter in my opinion... I can't compare Floyd Sr to Jr because they fight totally different! The only thing they share is lack of punching power but Floyd Sr threw great combination's, I sure to do miss this era in boxing history!

Thanx Ray,once again, because I did watch your beating of Marvin Hagler in 1987.I was 15 by then, and was the same year my arm got broken to discontinue the ambition to become your other self in the ring

Nunca confrontó a Hagler.

This is still early in Sugar Rays career, only his 13th fight he would get a lot better and stronger in the next couple of years. Sugar beat some top notch fighters at Welter, the best of that division when that division was stacked with top fighters. Benitez, Duran, Hearns. Those are 3 HOF's right there and Sugar beat all 3, 2 he knocked out and 1 he split a close decision in the first fight and embarrassed Duran so bad in the 2nd that Duran quit.

Right, but Ray Leonard did cherry pick, and waited on Marvin Hagler to slow down. He also chose Thomas Hearns for a rematch, because he thought Hearns was done. He was wrong. He also fought Duran for the third time, because he thought it would be an easy fight. Ray Leonard was a great fighter, but he also cherry picked. And he also ducked Aaron Pryor.

IMO Leonard is probably the best pound for pound boxer I’ve ever seen for skills and class. Maybe Ali at his best was better but nobody else even close. Haggler, Hearns, Duran, Tyson, Frazier and others were better scrappers but Leonard was pure class.

Leonard was a 'Golden Boy' long before Oscar De La Hoya!! I can't stand him. Hagler landed far better punches in their fight, but Leonard stole rounds, and was flashy. Judges of that fight forgot the fact that the challenger must take the Champs title. Leonard didn't, and he lost the fight regardless.....

YOU'RE CRAZY ! When Ray Leonard was at the peak of his prime in the late 70's, We had a saying in our Neighborhood in Palmer Park, Md. (where Ray is from) It was "SPEED KILLS" if you notice Sugar Ray had the Fastest Hand's in America ! Ray would've used his faster speed againest Jr. to overpower him, Plus i still don't think Jr. can take a Azz whippin like his pappie did.

Ray Leonard had an excellent defense. He moved his head, and he used his shoulders to avoid taking punches. I think Leonard would of beaten Floyd by unanimous decision. And the reason that Floyd has remained undefeated, is because all of his opponents are slower than him. We've never seen how Floyd would look, against a faster fighter.

The years of the so many of the greatest boxers of all time.MEN who went into battle and didn't tap tap tap to win strictly on points. MEN who went out to destroy each other. Not men who might have won on the cards, but yet somehow their opponents left the ring looking better than when they came in. I miss these warriors

This was the 1st Weight Class that drew more Money than Heavyweights. We never Duck Marvin Hagler, Mike Trainer never saw Eye to Eye with Haglers team. Also, Ray was on drugs & His wife was out of control. You read the book, I watched everthing UNFOLD as a eyewitness ! Look at Tigers Woods, It took him 4 yrs to start winning again !
