Lex, this is the most honest and eye-opening (and watering) poker video I've seen in a while. None of the melodramatic B.S. you get from the other channels. Just straight-up & straight-forward thinking through each hand and the rationale behind each move. THIS is how you learn to become a better player! Keep up the great videos. You are a fantastic player and everyone of us have gone through the same benders. Cheers!
@@depalma13 effective nuts he should never have kk sometimes he will have jj but would usually 3 bet that as well so he has kj or a single jack which is pretty much the nuts.
Great video, thx. I am very surprised when you checked on the river when you made a flush with 7-10 of clubs. In my experience when the river gets there and changes the nut hand most aggressors will check back.
Hi Lex. He does have some bluffs here, AQ with the As or AT with the As. Something like QT with the Qs is also possible. Or to be really gangsta TT or even QQ (with a spade) which he now realises is no good. I am not sure whether these players will turn QQ into a bluff. As far as value, he is repping really only KJ for a flopped boat or the turned nut flush with something like ATs. Wouldnt he check raise all in on the turn tho? Dicey slow playing a flush on a paired board, what if the board double pairs or a fourth spade comes out. Similarly, I am discounting him having any Jx. Those hands should always be check raising flop with a flush draw out there. As far as hands you have to call down with, AA without a spade is kind of so so. You have some AK here which would play this way, mayb AK is a better call down due to slightly blocking KJ. You also have some AJ here for trips top kicker which would play the same way, as well as some flushes and boats yourself. All in all, mayb going for 3 streets with AA was a bit thin and you should fold once raised. On the other hand, like I said his line just doesn't add up, he is repping very narrow of KJ or the nut flush. Its a real coin flip. I am going to go with... call.
Omg just saw his hand wow did not expect that at all. Omg like, is JT even a raise there?! Its very thin. What is he hoping to get called by? Basically AA or AK. He still loses to full houses, flushes and better trips. You could easily be sitting there with AJ. Wow to x/r JT on the river.... I don't like it. I think his reaction was authentic, like he knew he was most likely beat but was pot committed. Very interesting hand Lex.
One more thing…when listening to the action pre, I was thinking a big 3 bet is prob best. Going multiway oop w KQois a recipe for disaster. Personally I would 3bet big pre and go from there. Gotta thin the field in this spot
I cannot see how it’s not easy folding aces here. 1st: poker live is under bluff, and reraise on the river even makes it much more under bluff here 2nd: if they wanted to bluff, they would start on the turn. Check call flop and turn then reraise on the river is completely trips or better. 3rd: bluffs here maybe include AQ or Q10 for gutshot draw with 1 spade but Aces block so many combo. Easy fold? Yep too easy
I watch quite a few of these vlogs from various people. It amazes me how many hands they hit. They seem to play 8 hours or much less and hit more sets than I hit in 40 hours.
Well that’s all they show you really… it’s like watching WSOP .. you only real see the brutal hands b.u.t. In actuality they have played for 10 hours and folded 1000 hands
I always really liked that poker room❗️ with the bar, the high ceiling, and the track out front. Glad to see it's hopping‼️®️™️ ""great vlog by the way""
You put out a lot of great content, thank you. Yeah, first hand was an easy fold with A-A on the river with the sigh raise. Actually not sure about the $500 bet itself….
Hi. I have never played at a casino. At 19:58 the guy with quads gave you 2 black $100 chips after showing the quads. Is this some sort of etiquette thing to do when he has a monster hand for the loser for going to show down? I plan to start playing in casinos soon so I ask because I wanna make sure I am a good player and follow all the etiquette type stuff. Thanks!
Not the kind of video I wanted to see before going out of town on a poker trip, but maybe it's the one I need seeing as I've booked wins my last 3 sessions? I definitely need to find a spot to sigh/min raise river bluff judging by the comments lol.
Lex I know it hurts to lose with aces….As much as it does, thanks for showing the Ls you take because you are definitely one of the only ones that really shows it all big wins big losses…..You’re still a great player bud keep it up cause I know you will definitely win
tricky tricky play with the A5... thing about it is that you have to hit for it to pay off and it's expensive if you miss... I wouldn't second-guess myself too much over that hand... he probably would have gotten me to call too
Thanks you very much. I think A5 was in the range and even if not I think you should fold after the turn raise. Please continue to upload so nice videos to improve our game play.
Bet river with T7ss flush imo. They are going to check back all the non flush hands pretty much always unless you have reads. Nice work on the bankroll building...dust yourself down and back to A game. Good luck
Pro tip Lex: Once you go down that much and fight your way back to get back in the profit and it’s past 1am it’s time to go home. The game is never that good.
Always learning from you! I like to play online and with friends. I consider myself ok when it comes to know the game and how to play. I would like to go to a casino here in South Florida (I live in Boca) for a $200 max buy in $1/$2. Where do you suggest?
Just came back from Vegas, exactly same hand , I had pocket aces, same raise, 3 clubs on board At turn, river was heart, he went all in, after 2 minutes I showed him my aces and fold. I asked him to show me his cars, he said NO !! Later I saw him outside the poker room and asked him about that, he said good fold.. king & queen of clubs.. I lost so much $$ but saved lots of $$ by folding aces..😢😢
If you're not leading the raise preflop then you allow others to dictate and options to get comfortable with their range. If you raise 100+ preflop I don't see A5 coming along. Then if you half THAT pot I don't see A5 stay in
Call raise on the flop with just a pair and no redraw is usually bad idea. As you see, even bluff has plenty of equity and if you are againt value - two pairs or set, you almost drawing dead
I agree with the fold on the first hand. If he’s bluffing there I don’t think he’s ever going to be raising so small. I prob would have checked the river bc as playing what is calling that you beat.? Maybe only king jack and how often is he calling 500 with that. I think to thin
Before he shows A5 clubs, I guessed A5 spades. A/5 of spades is the likeliest bluff turn raise. A/5 clubs is a stupid bluff raise on the turn that got super lucky. A/5 spades is an excellent semi-bluff raise on the turn.
Aces hand is a punt IMO. Pretty hard to go for three streets of value when there are trips and a potential flush on the board. Love your videos just think that hand in particular should have been played slower
I think you're way too harsh on yourself. I would give your play today a C-. They ATo hand was the worst played on them all. Very spewy. The KQo hand is somewhat bad but not as bad, and the pocket 8s hand is a somewhat reasonable fold. In general mulitway pot you can play tighter, which the pocket 8's and KQo hand were. I'm surprised you didn't fold on the flop. Anyway love the honesty and love watching you go through the motions. Good luck and keep up the hard word!
I would have folded in a millisecond. Rise on the river in live games is almost always the nuts and in your case could be both flush and full house or trips all of them beating your two pairs. Yes it’s exploitable to fold to a river rise but the frequency of being a bluff in live games is often way lower than online.
on A5 hand, i dont think he is that polar i can see him betting two pair for value. Could have hands like 46 even. Could be a bluff, but what bluffs are there? Enough for ofds to call idk
On the AA hand facing a reraise on the river, you have to fold. Could have the flush or trips judging by how he played the hand. On the hand where you had KQ and the villain got a straight, I think you were overvaluing your hand. With two callers the whole way through, one could have easily of had a,q and you had to figure one of them was on a straight draw. (Could have reasonably had a pair of 5's)
Bothered me that you didn’t consider suited wheel as a possibility in that hand. Raise flop try and take it down and if not, hope you pick up equity. Textbook.
I want to just follow u around to the games your in WOW these vlogs can’t make enough for u to play this bad 😂 or can they 😆 I def want invited to play with u any game any stakes
I don't blaim you for calling the 1k to see an A5s. Redemption by analyzing and learing. That AT however ouch. Courage got punished. But great vlog again
I've been watching you for quite some time and lately you seem to keep putting yourself in losing situations with hands that go from bad to worse. You also have a very hard time folding and try to bluff catch to often, and in bad situations. Your game has been improving, but I think this is a leak that costs you a lot because these pots are always on the large side. If you can get away from these hands more often your win rate will go up. GL.
Statements like "he won't have a 5", when A5 is often overplayed in opp's range, indicates a leak; at least in the moment AND during vid analysis later. A5 isn't always only played hard in position as semi-bluff pre.
U were out of position .after getting called on the flop (snapped) u check the turn for pot control especially that the flush hit also ..easy fold even on the turn
Asking to see the river on that quads hand can only hurt you as if by some crazy miracle a fifth 9 pops off the entire hand is dead and they would go to the camera to return the chips to everyone as they were prior to the hand (I've seen it happen before).

The sigh - raise is the most reliable tell in live poker. Snap fold aces on the JJK board.
Crazy amounts of pocket pairs. Excellent VLOGGER Lex. Your speed of speaking and explaining is just perfect
One of the more realistic poker videos. Thanks.
Great video, thx. I am very surprised when you checked on the river when you made a flush with 7-10 of clubs. In my experience when the river gets there and changes the nut hand most aggressors will check back.
HONEST SELF ANALYSIS re the ‘winners tilt’ and entitlement etc Lex!! So real dude. ❤
Been playing with those pros to much. That A 10 was a quick fold everytime

Good content Lex. I like your after action reviews of your play. Definitely can learn from your mistakes.
I’ve been experiencing winner’s tilt a lot lately as well, minus the winning however...
#199....allow me to be the first to congratulate you on 200 vlogs! Congratulations Lex!!!!
1:52 You beat stuff like AQo with the Ace of spades but old guys minclicking is never a bluff. Good laydown
Great tell on that first hand! Not easy folding aces. But noticing that tell was a class act action!!!
I literally told my girl you should never sigh then raise and she even said yea it's obvious he has a jack there and she doesn't play poker at all lol
I cannot see how it’s not easy folding aces here.

Great fold to the sigh-raise on the river with AA. But TERRIBLE call on the river facing that 4-to-a-straight on the board.
What is the kill button?
Dang, those slot machines must be tight not a single person playing, good luck.
Lex's river bet with aces (first hand) was way too thin IMO. A check is better for multiple reasons.
