Hey Lex. I’ve been lying on the couch for two days with the flu. Saw your video come up and it was finding a piece of candy! Thanks for your hard work!
Lex, seriously. There are a lot of people leaving great comments that you should be liking. Ashley reads every comment and likes most of them bc she realizes that the subscribers matter. Psychologically, people like it when you like their comment. Hence, more people will continue to come back. Very nice session!!!
Great video Lex, keep pumping out the great content. Us Aussies don’t get the chance to visit the US of A much so watching these vids each week takes me back to Vegas and give me my poker hit each week. Thanks Legend 😎
Lex, On the Q8 hand, it's a great defend. Also the feeling you would face a larger bet on the river is because it isn't a $2,000 bet, in reality it is a $2,900-3,000 bet. The loser pays the table, if he gets called and loses, it cost him more. If you call and lose it cost you more. A big part of why the Q8 is such a good defend is because there is an extra $900-1000 as part of the pot. Not sure if a walk counts as a win in the standup but he really is incentived to get involved, as are you. Given the extra money in play, a thousand dollar open wouldn't be out of line, makes it a lot harder to call with Q8 off but you know if you fold it cost you your blind plus paying off the table. To call cost you about the same but at least you can win. You're just deep enough to do it and shallow enough to be dangerous. Heck I said shove on the flop, then looked at SPR. The stack is suddenly closer to 300 bb instead of 5000. Folding means likely losing $900 without a chance to win with skill or luck. I'm suggesting that when heads up in the stand up game, we have to think each hand is like putting a $900 dollar straddle on. Our bb is increased significantly when we fold. Only for the specific hand but it's really not much different than posting the straddle and folding. The leveling wars are pretty interesting with unique dynamics introduced through variation. Bomb pots, seven deuce, stand up. They are actually different games with similarities to Texas holdem. Like heads up, short handed, full ring, tournament. I think it's more interesting than the mixed games. And truly the stand up game is similar to a single table tournament with a very distorted value for winning. Big swings in these games, easy to get real deep into the pocket. Enjoy watching you play and you explain your thoughts well, even disagree with yourself. Videos are top notch sir.
Love to see the great comeback, especially in a higher stakes game! You need to post where you are planning on playing in the future so those of us who follow you can meet up (besides your meet up games). Great to finally meet you in person (Best Bet Jacksonville). I always promote everyone I follow and as always I truly appreciate the videos brother! Pet the doggie for me and good luck at the tables.. 💕🙏
Good stuff Lex. It's pretty clear that your A-game beats the mid stakes handily. Just trim the time you're in your C-game and you'll crush 'em every time.
Lex i like your videos, but i disagree with the way you played that trip king hand. Your reasoning on the river to call seems odd. If you look at the board its rather dry, theres not a lot of missed draws he can have, a draw seems unlikely. I would argue hes far more likely to have a small pocket pair, or 2nd, or 3rd pair. With all these hands he will 90% of the time checkback and you will miss a lot of value. He would do this because its the stand up game, and he could think you were barrelling with air, as is common in this game. Therefor he'll be eager to showdown, see if hes good and sit. If you would have shoved, he would be less likely to believe you because it's the stand up game, may even think the 2nd King makes your top pair less likely. I think depending on table image and other factors theres a good chance he would have paid. At the bare minimum, it would have given you a chance to win a lot with almost no risk.
Congrats on the win! I could be wrong, but aren't you leaving a lot of value out on the table? I feel like you could be betting bigger in spots, especially at those stakes.
Great video, as usual. When there are several new ones on the 2 dozen subscriptions I follow, I always watch yours first. BTW, I know you are not a wine drinker, but how was it? That particular vintage from that Chateau lists for $140 -- the high rollers you played with probably get that comped.
With the standup game dynamics you definitely can check raise with 2 pair on that board, you are going to have a lot of bluffs also. You should still be trying to win the maximum in the hand which could have been a lot more than the $800 penalty for losing the game.
Just a small thing on the last hand when he announced "Two Pair" at showdown you should've assumed you won already (given the board) because in poker lingo typically if he had any two-pair with an ACE he would most likely have said "ACES-UP" so if you noticed you may not have needed to ask "WHICH ONE?" since you 'technically' had the highest "non-Aced two-pair" hand with the nut "Queens-Up" ... but anyways, very nice run @ 10-20!!! Congrats!!!
I don't think a 5 bet on the KK hand would be an overplay. The 4 bet shove was from the BB with a small stack. Also, he's 4-betting the button 3-bet. His range is wide open. You're basically playing a heads up hand against the button. I think a flat call can be a good play if you're trying to induce the button to squeeze. Looks like the way the hand played, the button wasn't that strong. He probably had a hand like AQ and was just never going to put another penny in after calling the pre-flop shove with you in the middle. I think the flop lead was probably perfect. All of his over pairs are coming along, and anything else he was just going to check back.
I really like where you are going and loved the wtf am I doing. Lol we all do it and you said best. Some times I feel to groggy at a lose stake game and forget that the range is much wider. I’ve punted 900-1200 before even playing 2/5 5/10 and that sucks!!
I think Q8o is a reasonable call in your situation: SU game, vs. Last Stander, vs. Dead money in the Straddler. Worried about running into the top of standard UTG range with only sets to that you block most of, JThh, KJhh. Not a happy call, but a call.
Do you think on the 88 hand, you're double blocking the nut straight there, that you can raise the turn? You might do that w overpair anyway. Donks (esp after 3-bet) are almost always just ok top pair hands and not much more. Zero donks there w a 6x IMO. Are you worried about him calling a raise?
Nice win, Lex! 🤗 But, dude! You GOTTA play better at lower stake games when you’re waiting for a seat at higher stakes. ‘Cause that is a serious leak in you game.
Brody, I love your vlog and think you’re a good player, but that Q8 call on the blank/BDFD turn is so bad with the dynamics in place. That is a smash raise spot, you block almost all better hands, have numerous bluffs, and he has many hands that are calling off (AK, AJ, 9Th, KTh, honestly any Ace given the standup game). You get value 9/10x as well as deny equity against those hands. The exact reason he went for value on the river is why you should have, the pot wasn’t small and folding an Ace, not seeing his cards, and having to pay out an additional 900 is an obviously shitty feeling, he did so rightfully given basically every better hand is raising that turn, not even an overplay, he’s only expecting to lose to a flush or rivered A6 given the dynamics in play.
"I feel pretty confident with my reads, every bluff is working so I jam! ...and get snapped" can't stop laughing :D
Can't write this stuff hahaha
Yeah I lol hard w that my luck lately
Lol we have all been there
That was a terrible jam. Dumb a.f.. still like lex though

Awesome Lex. Thanks for the great vlog. I'm happy for you.
That is a NICE bottle. Love me some St Emilion. Casino price must've been at least $300 so your table mate must've really appreciated having you.

Congratulations!!🎉🎊🍾 Great video as always. Love the honesty in the Altro many Vloggers like to take too much credit when they just “run good.”
Great run! A check raise on the turn with Q8 would be awesome 😊
Нет у него такого уровня и к тому же и трус

No missed flush draw on that 6k pot. The only draw was diamonds and it went diamond diamond I think. Congrats on the big win
Congrats on the win! I could be wrong, but aren't you leaving a lot of value out on the table? I feel like you could be betting bigger in spots, especially at those stakes.
Good luck Lex! Keep up the good playing,
I'm in Lex...
Congratulations on your first MUG...
Great come back, that never happens to me...

Running well helps…! Lol. Great video Lex…
Nice come up! Just make sure you keep it!
6:30, you say they clearly look like novice players. Curious what someone can wear/do to look like one? Can you make a vid ab this?
Q8 definetely strong enough to raise w that dynamic.
Great job Lex you deserve ot 👏

Hey Lex, nice video. Are you showing your stats for 2022 or did I miss anything? :D
Lex is the man

Great job and real nice win!!!
Everyone here has punted. Great video. I like your style and play. Good Luck! Nice session. It takes me almost a month to win $16K!
I'm curious, what software do you use to edit your vlogs?
How could you ever be "way ahead" with 5D5s on a 8s6h8c flop???? How Sway?
Thank you sir
Glad to see you get a solid cash! You absolutely grind your ass off!! Love your content!

That two pair vs two pair hand had me giggling. So glad it went your way!
Nice comeback. You seem to always do well in Vegas.
Love the hustle man. You are grinding out those subscribers. Like 100 per week, and still chugging along.
Well done Lex! Good to see some run good!
To me the last seat is always pretty good. Cards run good.
Way to go Lex! 💪
$100 bottle of wine by the way
Great session bro!
12:00 you probably already know but this is 2 clubs and 2 spades on board and not showing up as a flush.
LFG Lex! Congratulations! Pura Vida from Costa Rica!
I really like where you are going and loved the wtf am I doing. Lol we all do it and you said best. Some times I feel to groggy at a lose stake game and forget that the range is much wider. I’ve punted 900-1200 before even playing 2/5 5/10 and that sucks!!
What’s the rake on the big game
Great session Lex. Almost 50K subs let's go!

Q8 hand could of been way bigger he jams river do you call ?

Nice! Congrats!
Lex what do you make of MGM banning filming in there casinos?
gay
Walking to Bellagio? On a downswing?
Said the same thing last weekend after attempting to hero call with ace high lol
At the 12:00 mark you misread the board when you flopped a set of 8’s the flush didn’t come in on the turn
2:55 MRW I ask my parents why they made me.
Lex you showed your pocket 8s with the two clubs and two spades on your full house hand there was no bink lol for the other player
How can you be way ahead on 886 flop with pocket 5's?
Nice run Lex!
You move to vegas?
It’s better to be lucky, than good!
The lead with KK is fine. Gotta get value from other pocket pairs !
Nice win, Lex! 🤗
But, dude! You GOTTA play better at lower stake games when you’re waiting for a seat at higher stakes. ‘Cause that is a serious leak in you game.
30 minutes late to clock in for work but well worth it!
Lmao me after every tournament exit “ WTF were you doing”
5K pot one player has 8-3 off and the other has Q-8 off. Lol fuck the standup game!
Is it true they banned filming ?
To 50k. Let’s Go 😊
I know it's easy to say now but that first hand, with the pair of 5s, a 4bet pre-flop would have done the job, do you agree?
Awesome session
The hand 2 pair against 2 pair at the end of video made your trip, that was $6K pot?
Good work!
Major congrats on the session 🎉👍🏾🔥
fun vid!
We want play with you meet up game! When where?
Seminole casino coconut creek January 31st 6pm!
Very nice 🎉
That is a nice wine sir. Hundred dollar bottle or so

I’ll be at your meet up game to get some of that easy fish money
Man I live super close to Coco Creek but I am not sure I want to donate to your winnings for that trip on 1/31!
