    1)Open Alexa app
    2)Go to MORE
    3)Go to SETTING
    4)Go to DEVICE SETTING
    5)🏠Look for the HOUSE symbol - Lenovo Smart Clock
    6)Go to FUNCTION DISPLAY - Choose WEATHER

    This is a lot better than the Alexa 'puck" with clock that I currently own. That model only displays a dot for AM/PM or alarm. That's it. I had the Show 5 but sold it because it was way too bright at night and tended to be very busy with a bunch of things animating on and off screen. Good review, the only one currently on RUclips.

  • @beverlyallen6200
    @beverlyallen6200 Год назад +1

    Echo show does so many things and you get it in different screen sizes..you can watch RUclips, listen to music,set alarms and many other things..in my opinion it would be the better option..❤

    Maybe when you're reviewing an alarm in future, you might consider actually playing the alarm tone.

    Alexa, set brightness to _
    It seems to be a percentage. 1 was very dim, 20 seems manageable for darker room. It does have a photo sensor to auto adjust when room is brightened

  • @raylopez1965gmail
    @raylopez1965gmail Год назад +1

    Luke mentions the inability to get the weather... evidently you can not display both at the same time, in the app you chose between weather or "noise meter", as for dimming you can dim manually but you must disable the "Auto Screen Brightness"

  • @smplfyi

    This is ten months later than your review and the same problem exists with not showing the temperature and the humidity. Like your device mine only showed the DB level, which is pretty useless. As a clock I agree with you, it is great. Alexa works fine and the Alexa app shows I have the right location so Alexa has the data to be able to show the temperature and humidity, but the clock doesn't. When it boots up you can see on the screen where it expects to show the temperature and humidity and in which units.

    • @brianmclean9102
      @brianmclean9102 Год назад +4

      I saw later down the list that if you tell Alexa to 'set the functions display to weather" or "set the clock to weather" it will work, but this is not in the app. The function display worked for me

    • @brianmclean9102
      @brianmclean9102 Год назад +1

      @@kimdadd7968 On the Alexa app on my phone I have to go to the Devices list, and select my clock. I can then change the sounds, do not disturb, temperature F or C, and a couple of others, but there is no way to change the db to the temperature and humidity. There is no such box. Is there somewhere else in Alexa that I should be gong to? I was able to change it as per my post above using Alexa with the right words. Is Alexa in Canada different? - I doubt it.

    One thing I'm curious about that I didn't see in the video (might have missed it, sorry if I did!) is the options inside the Alexa app. With the regular echo devices, you'll have a list of options you can change from brightness, volume, tones, wake words, etc. Curious if displaying temp is there? Alternative alarm noises? Quite a bit missing from the review if there are a list of options there. Thanks for the video though!

    I had the Lenovo smart clock with google and I loved it other than saying ‘hey google’ all the time, so this was a no brainier for me. Unfortunately it is broken and useless. It just doesn’t hear you, you have to yell for it to respond and it takes several goes to get it to wake up. There isn’t a setting to adjust the sensitivity.
    Secondly, the auto brightness is a joke. You cannot disable it and in a darkish room it’s so dim you can’t see it. You can adjust the brightness level but after 5 mins it goes back to being dim again. On top of that, it constantly goes light and dark depending what’s on your TV screen. I don’t expect this will be fixed as Lenovo seem to have washed their hands of it already. Extremely disappointed in it.

    Kinda wish they had stuck with google assistant like the original smart clock essential. Anyway, while I don't know how it's done on alexa smart clocks, the original essential allowed you to change the display brightness by saying "Dim the display to XX%" and return it to auto brightness by saying "Turn on/off ambient mode", so maybe this new one has a similar command.
