Damn….same exact thing with mine. Dented tank where that breather hose assembly is and snapped off. Also what I felt was abnormally loud knocking sound
I bought mine from Home Depot when they were on sale for like $160. It came with a fuel tank that was dented so bad it was broke. Man that was a mistake buying that. Took literally 5 months to get a replacement part.
I had to jump through hoops for days... They finally sent a return authorization for me to take it to a local box store to exchange. This tilled a half acre of never before tilled soil, so I'm not even sure I can complain about it.

Ever find out what the knocking is about? Mine is doing it too. Seems like it's coming from the nylon drive gear.😊
