Lightweight, solid traction, minimalist but very good cushion, top tier court feel, and they were worn by the guy who everyone in this gen grew up watching/looking up to.
It’s sad that Nike quality has decreased and turned these into hype beast shoe though

Bought my first pair last year the camouflage one, missed out on these on its first release because I was still in college and money is an issue back then. Thank God I got my pair without paying resell price

kobe 7 was my go to basketball shoe for outdoor back in 2011.
my favorites are honestly the kobe 5s, also the kobe ad nxts are amazing too
Massive Kobe fan and was fortunate enough to get the Reverse Grinch on retail via SNKRS. Took me a week debating whether I should sell or keep 'em. Ended up keeping them, absolutely no regrets. Once you wear them on court, you'll know what the hype is about.

you prob can find it dirt cheap but you can buy reps for 100-120 usd from sites like jersey frosts and jersy elites I own both real pair and the rep pair and they preform the exact same so buying reps would save you a lot of money.
are ac 13 wide foot friendly? I am size US 10.5M in the regular ac 12 and they fit a but snug but when it already broken it, it is already good. I have tried Ac 13 size US 11M and they felt roomy for my feet and had a lot of space in the toe box. It affected my court feel cause I was feeling heel slippages. What size would you recommend for Ac 13 for me?
I think you can go or the 10.5. They break in nicely and are a bit better for wide feet than the AC12 imo

The reason is because kobe died. So nike took advantage of the situation to make it seem like it's the best shoe of all time. Also pro players wear it because they don't need a crazy tech to play. And they used to look up to kobe so it's obvious to wear their favorite shoe. The performance is not the reason why it is popular

Kobes are popular because of the hype. There are much cheaper and much better performance basketball shoes out. When Kobe played, max 5 other NBA players wore his shoes. The massive hype started after his reirement and especially after his death. (A 100 pairs bbshoes owner - including all Kobes)
Exactly, before the tragedy. I was able to get the Carpe Diems for $160 and Kobe 1 Protro for only $80 bucks.

There’s no need for pro players to make a video on why Kobe’s are so popular. Even toddlers know why. Once, Kobe’s only mattered to his “Real” fans. His shoe got so popular because of his tragic passing and resellers charging high prices. Kobe’s used to sit in stores and were easy to get. Now out of the blue, everyone likes Kobe’s and everyone talks about the Kobe 5s and 6s like never before.

@ Because that's the truth of it? We aren't the disrespectful ones, it's Nike and resellers who decided to capitalize off of a man's death.
Kobes are just slightly above average (if even) and insanely over hyped shoes man be fr. There are sooooo many better options, don't spread more propaganda. As a pro player with a platform you should be honest and refrain from spreading misinformation on this and other things *cough* vktry *cough*
