God, ive been "into" Hondas for a while. 2011 is about when i got out lol. The urge to build my final Honda is getting pretty bad. Who members 440s and a VFAC? 😁
I was just cleaning my closet and found a briefcase full of old magazines from late 90s early 00s, got hungy and happy to see this as im eating, love it! and yes the magazines distracted me for an hour lol thanks for sharing!
I was 14years old in 1997 when I rebuild my first zc Integra transmission, 15 when I rebuild my first zc engine. I've since worked on everything under the sun. Still love Honda's
We ran chips for awhile based on the butt dyno. Then we started socketing the ecu for our own chip tuning. Coming from a small town it was still done with the butt dyno. We tuned using ostrich. Eventually we started getting on a dyno but most of it was done with a WBO2 and doing street pulls datalogging. Got away from the scene in 08. It was dying.
I had their AEM coil on plug on my turbo lsvtec, bought it second hand a couple of years ago, never had a problem idk why they said it was only good up to 15psi? I had mine over 40psi, making over 900whp, never skipped a beat. Had the kit as is, no additional spark amplifiers or whatever, just the cop kit and their v2 ecu. This was in 2020 As for me where I at in 2011? middle school
@@VTECAcademy im really curious to know because I still dont know why. Mine worked well for years and I only sold it when I realized it was completely discontinued. Sold it in working order and as far as Im aware its still working fine for their car
I won it on eBay bids 2 years ago. I’ve been dealing with a bunch of shit in my personal life so haven’t had time to install. I was hoping to get it done this Christmas but my dad passed away on the 9th and it just killed all of my motivation.
2011 was also around the last year for Jackson Racing supercharger kits for Hondas. I have 2 complete b-series kits with extra parts waiting to go on 2 b18c1's that are waiting on rebuilds lol.
I been into Honda since the late 90’s.. having to run a missing link and fmu for boost. When no one could afford hondata s100. Ran chrome or a chipped p28
ruclips.net/video/be8csBxgZk8/видео.htmlsi=Q2CDe067YUasDXt0 it's interesting that no one knew about the original video. As of today, it only has 539 views vs 10k views on this new version.
"Back in my day" we tuned our cars using an Apexi V-AFC and did street pulls with a stop watch..
Ahahahah! Right?
Fmu set ups, concrete block, and running 18/20g eclipse turbos on hacked up manifolds where I merged the eclipse and d series manifolds to work
@@VTECAcademyI’m curious how many people with a V-AFC were actually running the ecu open loop
Lol, havent seen 1 of those in many moons
I mean, I’m still running a chipped P28 in my Mini Me equipped EH2 🤷♂️

Do it while you can enjoy it. Life’s short!
I never got into the VFAC stuff, I was too busy with Uberdata and then Crome lol
damn i seen this year of sema only online, its so crazy to see you guys out there giving me a 2012 sema experience
It was cool because things were really getting back to 2007 levels.

That's awesome! We've got a huge stack of old magazines, too. Those Super Street magazines used to be sooo thick.
@ yeah for real :DDD
9:26 Love that New Found Glory shirt!
Got it at their show at HOB in Mandalay Bay. 👏🏽👏🏽
Saw them twice in High School, traveled to San Francisco. Class of 2003; got to see them perform with Fallout Boy, Sugarcoat, etc. GOOD TIMES!.. 🤙

Early 90s Honda/Acura tuners for me. Accel DFI JG Engines Honda Tech etc. AEM was all Papadakis.

That's awesome to hear! Yeah, we paused on that 15 psi bit, but maybe they saw some reason. 🤷🏽♂️

I have a turbonetics turbo kit for the b18b1 new in box from 2006 SEMA show!!
Woah!!
Why though. Did you buy it as a keepsake or something.
@Foshomoto I agree. Seems like a waste not putting it to use.
But to each their own.

@801bear5 sad to hear it. Hopefully you can develop your passion once more.
Damn so many memories unlocked
Tuning scene has come a long way.
Right? At the time it was so cutting edge. Hopefully we can keep evolving.
@@VTECAcademy Also, seen all of that innovation in the early films of the Fast and Furious franchise was super inspiring.
I was there. Still trying to get a build done. Had to raise a family and all that great stuff first.
Please share it with us when the time comes!
make sure when Trump lowers inflation that you still overpay for your groceries, because you know… f trump.

As a 21 year old into tuning Hondas its insane to think about how I missed out on all this 🥲
Ha, ha, old school! I was still paying people to do my swaps back then! 😂😮😅
Unrelated to the video , where is the Honda Fit k24 ge8 swap a/c video? Where it was all figured out and the a/c works? Thanks!
looks like AEM doesn't even make ECU's anymore. Probably has something to do with Holley buying them out.
Back in my day we didn't tune cars we put a turbo, bigger injectors, better fuel pump and sent it😅😂😂
Any mods for my ‘22 HRV 1.8? I struggle just as much as my old Prius on the freeway onramp
Lmao
You can probably get a Hondata
Get a throttle controller my sister has one on her hrv makes a big difference
Lol I thought you meant in the 90s/00s not the 2010s!.
How can I contact you for work on my 8th gen im in az
👍🏻👍🏻
THAT'S NACHO CHEESE MAN !
I got 07 honda civic that i want to upgrade but i don’t know where to start. Any suggestions?!?!
Hope it's a si, if not turbo the R18 bolt ons on the R18 you don't gain much horsepower
...I missed fuse
2011 counts as back in the day???
🤣👍
🤟🔰👽🔧🎅🏼
This isn't "back in the day" this is already at the beginning of the decline of the import scene

Wow, that's an annoying intro. 7 seconds in and I'm done.
