@@jiwakental4412 Yes. It's a loan word from Sanskrit. In fact Surya is the Hindu solar deity. Many words in Malaysia are loan words from Sanskrit for historical reasons.
@@muhd7144 how about dunia..that in sankrit also? How about jendela, and yakni there in sanskrit too? You know when word hindu or hindi come? We just loan some from other languages or nation..so a word loan is not good to use..just explain what it mean is good enough better than claim it.
I live and work in KL as an expat it's a great country to live in friendly people and amazing food with some amazing jungle walks close to the city.

@Diana-sb4yl go to Bukit Kiara Trails, there is a main entrance in TTDi. We go through the back entrance, which is just a small path off the high way near SMK Seri Hartamas school. This may not be the best way for you for the first time, and don't be afraid to go off the paths that where all the nice things are and the paths are now well marked.

Of course the three main ethnic groups are Malay, Chinese and Indian but there are also Eurasians, Kadazans, Dayaks, Ibans and others. The national and official language is Malay. Most Malaysians speak more than one language. I myself being an Indian Malaysian and being Muslim speak three languages - Tamil being my mother tongue, Malay, English and also a smattering of Hokkien a Chinese dialect. And I'm married to a Malay as there are a lot of intermarriages among the different ethnic groups.
Thank you for sharing 🙏 it’s very interesting to learn about the differences!
I guess tt's y we live in harmony all d races coz of lotsa intermarriages amongst us.

If you're interested in the Malay culture, speak a bit of Malay. If you're interested in Chinese culture, speak a bit of Mandarin/ Cantonese/ Hokkien. And the same goes with the other languages in Malaysia.
Thanks for the tips Afif! 😊

if you enjoy walking, there's a covered walkway all the way from suria klcc mall to the pavilion in bukit bintang. It's partly underground from klcc & elevated above ground after the aquaria in the klccc convention centre & it's like fully air-conditioned all the way except from a small section once one is about to arrive in pavilion.

"Suria" in Bahasa Malaysia, in English means the "Sun". Another word in BM is "matahari".
"Durian" with "duri" in B Malaysia meaning "thorn"
"Orangutan” "orang" means man & utan means jungle, so jungleman.
Rambutan, rambut- hair hairy fruit.
"Amok" is a Malay word. Etc.

“Suria” is a Sanskrit word meaning the Sun whereas Malay and Polynesian words for the is “Matahari” literally Mata meaning “eye” and Hari means “Day” (Eyes of the Day)
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing my friend 😊
3:12 I think “suria” means sunlight or sun rays. I could be wrong though. I think I so take it for granted that I never thought what it means in English. 😆
If you must, you should speak Malay first because it is our national language. I meant the standard one. Take note that Malaysia has many Malay dialects from the northern dialect to Kelantan, Trengganu, Negeri Sembilan and also the southern peninsula. Sabah has their own Malay dialect, and not to mention Sarawak (has actually roughly three dialects - Kuching dialect, Saribas Malay dialect and the Miri dialect (closer to Bruneian)).
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m going to try learn as much of the Malay as I can 🙏😊
Wow, that’s interesting! Thank you so much for sharing 😊

Suria is Sanskrit for Sun. A lot of Malay words are derived from Sanskrit which was a major language and influence in Southeast Asia at one time from Indochina to the Philippines. Today Southeast Asia and the Malay archipelago are called Nusantara which means the islands between the seas.

Kuching > Lundu > Biawak Immigration CIQ > Sambas, Indonesia > Singkawang, Indonesia

A little titbit story of the Twin Tower, the Prime Minister then; Dr Mahathir, granted tender to build 1 tower to a Japanese co while the other tower to a Korean co. (joining with local contractors) He then informed whoever finish 1st,will be given a contract to build part of north south highway; knowing its a race of pride between 2 nations. The Japanese co manage to complete 1/2 a day earlier than the Korean. The bridge also symbolised the bridging of 2 tech on friendly competition. Oh! about the highway contract; both co got rewarded with the contract 😅. Then theres 2nd round 'competition' 😅. Thats how we managed to get our towers & highway is short time. 😅
Go to one Utama mall in Bandar Utama that also ones the biggest mall
I’m going to check it out thank you!!
You’re right, Japanese food slaps 💯
some simple sentences to share to you:
apa khabar = how are you
saya sihat = i am fine
terima kasih = thank you
sama sama = you are welcome
jumpa lagi = good bye
berapa harga barang ini = how much is this thing
macam mana nak ke "tempat" = how to go to "place"
sedap = delicious
kurang pedas = less spices
you may use Google translate to know the pronunciation.
Thank you
It's easier to just learn malay because you can use it in Indonesia and borneo as well with slight differences.
you should try ramly burger

The burger and lobster is around the same price but generally, Malaysia is cheaper then Dubai and London.
Sorry I'm very confused and unsure who you mean by They? Half a mall and a fancy restaurant, I was wondering where you were also. 😅
Suria means Sunshine

Suria = Sun. You can learn any language, but Malay & English is widely spoken by almost all Malaysian. Mandarin & Tamil are usually only spoken within their ethnic group. But Malaysian do know a tiny bit of Mandarin & Tamil words and mix them into their daily life, regardless of their race.
Thank you so much for the explanation 🙏
Suria means Sun in Malay. The word suria has Sanskrit origin (from 'surya') , as with a lot of other Malay words.

I am not so sure about not being allowed to take pictures inside the KLCC Suria , can someone explain why this is so .
They never explained why unfortunately
You can probably take pictures with your phone, but Yad has a professional camera and it is not permitted to shoot with such equipment. Why? We don’t quite understand ourselves 🤷♀️
Wait until ramadhan ends...
Suria is a sun. Matahari.
In msia we have not only malays, chinese & indians. There are kadazans, dusun, murut, kayan, dayak, orang ulu, iban and many more in sabah & sarawak. You need to visit sabah & sarawak too
Thanks for sharing 😊
Suria is another word for the rays of the sun, matahari means the sun. suria matahari would mean the rays of the sun. its also a borrowed word from sanskrit. in sanskrit and hinduism SURYA means the sun god. mata in malay means eye and hari means day. however in sanskrit mata would mean mother and hari is another name for lord vishnu who is a god of preservation. you will understand that in the malay language there many many borrowed words from other languages, and this is because of the people of different ethnicity and backgrounds have come here to share culture, food, religion and languages as well.
Thank you so much for the explanation 🙏😊
No camera inside the mall? Maybe it's a new rule. You missed the LED bridge to Kampung Baru.
Unfortunately they didn’t allow to film with professional camera. Apparently it’s ok to film with phones (but not camera) 🤷♀️
It doesn’t make no sense! As they allow iPhone lol
yeah for foreigners very cheap lobster burger....they should try Gordon Ramsay in KL costs only usd 1000
It’s definitely not very cheap, but lobster costs a fortune everywhere. Depends on what Gordon Ramsay restaurant you go to: his pizza chain is cheap as chips 😉
No way it’s not cheap!! This is for occasions only
You can speak in malay, you can speak in english, most people in KL will understand you. You can speak chinese or tamil, but those are mostly limited to their respective races, But almost everyone can speak malay.

When any of my international friends try to compartmentalize Malaysia as a 3rd world country, I just show them pictures and RUclips vloggers like yours. Kuala Lumpur bests their own cities by a wide margin. Such a kick to entice them to spend their 1st world currency into Malaysian tourist receipts. How about that being a freelance country ambassador ?
Love this Andrew! I must say Malaysia for me doesn’t feel like 3rd world at all. It’s fantastic 🙌
