I actually enjoyed watching the shots. I can feel the chilly Weather and the wet rain. Worry not, its beautifully shot and I am already planning to visit the place on these rainy days.
Been to Malaysia at least 5/6 times mainly to Penang Island on business trips and always wanted to go to Genting Highlands and didn't take time to visit. The next time it will be a visit on my dime and will spend a more relaxed time in this town where you guys are in the Vlog. It looks and feels awesome, calm, serene to unwind and relax. The shots are great even with the rain. I heard that you guys are from Latvia (one of the countries in my bucket list) and you speak so fluent English. Is it a commonly spoken language there in Latvia?. Keep up the good work guys. Cheers from Washington DC
It honestly is such a beautiful town! Highly recommend checking it out on your next visit to Malaysia :) My wife is actually from Latvia and I'm from England! :) I hope you make it out to Latvia it's a very beautiful and peaceful country. Thank you so much for watching the video and see you on the next one :)
@@Yasin_Affandi Thank you so much, Yasin! Yes, I got the feeling that not many people know of the place. I had to dig really deep with my research, it’s not very widely online either.
Actually, the rain gives the area a very cool appearance, especially when there is fog between the woods. You do a wonderful job of portraying the location's outlook, which makes it appear to be highly interesting. Long ago, when it had just opened, I had visited the Japanese garden. Some of the personnel were dressed in Kimonos, giving the atmosphere a Japanese feel. When glancing at the staff's everyday uniforms, it now appears to be very typical and more like Malaysia than Japan. Overall, you are really good at making your vlogs entertaining. Good job both of you. !!
Thank you so much for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We genuinely enjoyed our time there, great escape from KL city. Ah yes, that’s exactly what I was after as their website claims there’s tea ceremony, but that wasn’t the case anymore.
I am a RAIN person and ohhhhh your vlog is so LOVELY! My family and I haven't been to Colmar Tropicale for ages, you made us wanna go there for the Japanese food, badly! Terima kasih. Lovely vlog with honest thots 🤣. Um, the Japanese tea house did serve tea ceremony before but it didn't get much patronage, so to speak. They've converted it into that Kimono renting place but they haven't changed the directions board, I think. Sorry for that ya...
The house renting the Kimonos was once used to serve traditional Japanese Tea ceremony completes with real Japanese women dressed in expensive kimonos. I think it was not profitable or the cost way too much for the proprietor to continue the service due to lack of customers who were willing to spend on the ceremony. Now they just move to a cafe serving Japanese titbits and green teas…minus the ceremony.
Ahhh that explains it! It honestly was an incredibly stunning spot to visit, I wish they would bring the tea house back there as it’s just perfect! Thank you for clarifying 🙏😊
@@YadVenturess Good if they could bring that back but I dont think it is economically feasible because the cost involved and not many people willing to spend 200/300 Ringgit for 1/2 hour drinking bitter tea. Look at the “tourists” profiling who visited the place…they’re not the target market that the proprietor had in mind when they established the place 20 years ago. That kinda market requires a niche one and that was their targets but deep pockets people have heavy legs. They dont climb much for a tea. Huhuhu One thing they shoud really do…is to remove that old sign board of directing people to the Tea House. Misleading although unintended.
This reminded Cath of when she was in Japan. Beautiful gardens. Atlast you got your tea! Yes the rain is very asmospheric and we do appreciate you filming and sharing with us. See you next time. 👌🙏
Thank you so much, Keith! Haha yes I got that tea in the end. Their website promised a tea ceremony, but I was happy with a cuppa on their terrace. 😊 It’s a really beautiful place. Great city break!
15:30 yeah, most of the time rain is a nuisance when making a video of a scenery but some locations are perfect for filming when it's drizzling. Japanese garden and the botanical garden looks gorgeous with the mist and a little drizzle. Of course having blue skies is the perfect setting but I see it as looking it from another perspective.
@@YadVenturess if you ever get the chance to go up to penang hill here in Penang, go very early in the morning, you'll either get misty weather which is magical or clear sky which you can see the sunrise which is also magical. Either way it's a win win situation.
Thank you so much. We don’t mind the rain on a normal day, but it’s practically impossible to film and hold cameras whilst trying to protect them under umbrella - extremely challenging. But yes, a little bit of rain for exploration adds a lot of character 😊
