    This video is a gift. My mom was diagnosed with Stage 1b endometrial cancer about a month ago. The cancer has been removed, thank God, but I can't stop feeling worried and anxious for her. I know the doctors try to reassure me things are fine now, but just hearing the word "cancer" attached to my mom in any way was enough to send my mind spiraling. I wasn't just upset about the cancer happening in the first place, I was also worried about the treatment and the possible complications. I also worry myself sick with the thought of other cancers developing.
    Hearing your story helped me feel a little less fearful.

    • @barby2749
      @barby2749  3 года назад

      Me too but thankfully caught early. The word cancer is very scary and something I think about daily with anything that comes up even though they assure me all is fine but you know what you have to be positive and think positive. You are amazing to be there for your mom and so supportive. Thankfully they caught hers early as well and may she continue to be healthy and well and live her best life.

      @@barby2749 Thank you for responding. Even two years later, I still want to stress how grateful I was, and still am, for your story. Helped me quiet my worst fears.

    I am just starting on this awful journey. Went for a scan on 16th march 2023, then got a phone call the next day, to tell me that my endometrial lining was thick, approximately 11mm and a lump (somewhere). So I am waiting on an emergency appointment to come through with gynaecologist, my doctor said it can take up to 2weeks before I get seen. So all I do now is wait, and try and shut my mind off 😀. Thank you for your video, it's helped more than you know. Take care

    Barby - you have such a beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing your story. You articulate yourself so wonderfully and have such a tender heart. I am so sorry that you were dismissed numerous times by both the Gynecologist's office and the Emergency Department at the hospital. How each place handled such a serious situation like yours was unprofessional, reckless, careless, dangerous, and inhumane. (There is so much more I could list). You went through SO much and handled things with such grace. I hope you have put yourself and the very top of your priority list. You deserve to extend to yourself the utmost self-care and self-compassion. You deserve to shine ever so brightly! Sending you heartfelt healing hugs, blessings, and loads of love. 🦋👼🕯✨️🙏💙

    Thank you for posting. Exactly, UNUSUAL BLEEDING. I started clotting a little, it was not normal for me. I just thought my body was just changing after the birth of my son. I was sitting in a conference, and I felt a huge gush. I put my hand down and it was covered in blood. I just assumed that a clot had blocked my uterus opening and it just released since I was in the middle of a menstrual cycle. I wasn't even going to go to the doctor. I am so lucky that I did.
    Six months later after a d&c, biopsy and thermoablation, hysterectomy and then bi-lateral oophorectomy's I was finally diagnosed after many tests came back negative.
    Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma is a silent killer and often misdiagnosed (did I mention that I was told 2 times that it was benign, the 3rd time they said they thought it might be, and after my hysterectomy they were still unsure until they sent it to a specialist).That being said it is absolutely curable. Some are slow growing (low grade) and some are fast growing. I was lucky to have the low grade one. It was called undifferentiated ESS back then. I was 39, and I am now 54.
    I am a mother of 2 daughters and I now know what to tell them. If your bleeding changes at all, go to the doctor. No one ever told me that.

    This is crazy that I came across your video. I'm having a total abdominal hysterectomy on Valentine's Day this year. I apparently was meant to see this video. I've already had a CT scan and just had an ultrasound today for a very large tumor in my uterus causing multiple symptoms and pain. Not sure if it's benign or cancerous yet, but hopefully will know tomorrow. Thank you for your video. I'm very glad you're doing so well and are cancer free. But I'm also very sorry you lost your dream to become a mother. I feel the same way. I adore children and always have. It's really sad to know I will no longer have the option to have a child. My wife was diagnosed with carcinosarcoma of the uterus this past April after cancer was found from a biopsy. Less than 1,000 cases per year, making up 4% of all uterine cancers. Extemely aggressive with a 20-30% survival rate of up to 5 years. It was high grade but stage 1 with no lymph node involvement. The PET scan before the radical hysterectomy in April showed it was confined to the uterus. We are going to start chemo, finally, this Friday. We are only 31 and still trying to cope with the loss of our ability to have children of our own that we've talked about since we fell in love at 15. Screw cancer.

    Thank you for your informative video. I had a scare with endometrial cancer in 2017, but after my DNC, I was diagnosed with only dysplasia, which can be managed with progesterone, to keep it from progressing to cancer. Endometrial cancer is caused by too much estrogen in relation to progesterone. Heavier ladies can get this imbalance, because fat cells make a significant amount of estrogen. I was not heavy, but I was perimenopausal, which can also cause a hormone imbalance. You should pursue adoption, your calm, caring manner tells me that you would be a great mom!
