  • I'm replacing the Ibs sensor on my 2006 BMW 530i. I replaced the negative cable, adapter cable and wire harness.

If the ibs is toast and you have a no start, then simply unplug the blue dme connector that runs up to the back where the connector is located by the rear tail light. When you get a replacement ibs negative battery cable, the correct fitment is to first attach the cable to the the frame near the boot , then plug in the dme light blue connector back in then plug in the other connector into the positive round connector, last attach the negative battery cable to the actual battery and tighten up. Once done start car as normal and hopefully all okay after that. I posted this because I had a sunroof rear water leak which fried the ibs negative cable and had to fix leak due to clogged rear grommet and replace this cable.

Did you get code 2e8d at first? And did you need to reset your battery afterwards?

I never got any codes for the battery. I just replaced the sensors and didn't reset nothing. I was plug and and play for me.
