This really makes you ponder the impersonal relationship between developers and players. Completing each route in DDLC is more than just an achievement; it's sort of a discussion with the designer that reminds you someone poured their heart into creating it. It's easy to think of games as products, but this kind of interaction shows they're equally the invention of designers, their art. Is this intimacy perhaps something studios should strive for? Captivating stuff...

That's why this game is so significant to me. It's truly a love letter to games and feels way more powerful once knowing that. Thank you commenting holy heck 💙

Really, my only complaint about DDLC Plus, is that I feel the whole Metaverse lore was a bad call. Not only does it overcomplicate the lore of the game more than it needs to, bur I genuinely believe that it moves the focus of the game away from what I feel is the main draw of DDLC: The four characters (five if you include MC) and their personalities, as well as the whole "slice-of-life" aspect of the original game's main (non-Monika glitched) plot. And as such, removes the charm the original game had in my opinion. The only reason why I feel Metaverse exists, apart from explaining the faux desktop interface, is to tie it in to the upcoming Project: Libitina game, if it ever comes out that is.

I can see that but to be honest I quite enjoyed the addition because I like reading up on lore and stuff. Though yeah the original has so much charm.
