    With every new pattern I always think that's the one the prettiest of them all and then the next month comes and that next pattern becomes the prettiest one. I'm doing two strips every month so my blanket will be bigger and for August I have a lovely yellow and bright orange yarns for the pattern part so that little flowers are perfect for this month's strips of my blanket. Can't wait for the upcoming patterns.

    Suggestion for August Strip (and I may do this for July as well): they are super cool, but more complex than previous strips... this is what I am doing for August strip: I will follow along from the beginning to finish a completed flower row...then when she shows us the 2nd time around, before setting us loose... I noted timestamp 12:30... I will be repeating this video, at that timestamp, and completing every row with video instruction,... for all 78 rows...instead of forgetting how to do it, or doing it incorrectly and getting frustrated!

    Very beautiful. For these complex patterns I would normally write them down so that I wouldn't have to keep replaying the video. Much easier for me this way. Going to start now. I'm a bit behind as I'm back out to work after a recent covid19 lockdown in my country.

    When I followed along each month and got to this month I tried and tried and got so frustrated as I just couldn’t get it. So I did all the other months and after I did the December strip I came back to this one DETERMINED to conquer 😆 it.
    OMG I finally did it. It took rewatching sections quite a few times and then the lightbulb went on. Had it done in no time ( finally ), and breezed through the joining of the other strips. Now I can do this flower pattern in my sleep. It was crazy because I’ve never had such a mental block. But I persevered.
    Oh and I could not decide on the border colors so I went with a Caron Cake that included every single color I used, and decided that as I did not use white I used white in the SC Ch row. Love the outcome.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  2 года назад +1

      Hi Leigh Ann! Conquest!!! 😁 It's the BEST feeling! Sometimes when I can't get something I have to walk away from it for a while, sleep on it, and then when I come back, I'm often stunned at myself that I couldn't get it the first time LOL. I love the idea of using the Caron Cake! What a fantastic way to bring all those colours together 😁

    Jayda, have you ever tried hyperbolic crochet? From a very simple stitch pattern you can crochet beautiful freeform pieces that resemble coral reef formations. I would love to see what you come up with using this kind of technique. One version begins with a small Mobius ring and grows to become a cool fidget toy! 🧶

I had to reteach myself from scratch, how to crochet again. I just hoped this time would be different! Nope! So, the arrow will wait till i really want to challenge myself! Jayda, can you eventually show us how you would wash this blanket in the washing machine? Will it hold up (using delicate cycle of course) without snagging? I'm a little concerned since this is my first blanket, and that it has some rather lacy strip patterns (June and July) that could get snagged.

    • @JaydaInStitches

      Why hello there Crochet Nerd, I too am a Crochet Nerd! A cluster is any number of stitches worked into the same stitch or space, the different between this and 3dctog, is that 3dctog are 3 dc worked together over 3 actual stitches. So 3dctog pinches 3 existing sts together, a cluster is a bunch of stitches all crammed into the same place to make a cluster or bobble effect :)
