Gentaro's left chest injury is a concern. The extent of the injury is not serious. The only thing I am worried about is whether or not bacteria will get into it and cause it to fester, such as by removing the scab. It is a wound that will heal quickly if it is done normally. Still, it is hot, so the gorillas spend only one hour outside.

Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

I am amazed how big Gentaro has gotten this past year. He really is turning into a silverback. They really need to start separating him to prepare him for his own life. I truly hope they have plans in the works. I know it will be hard on them all but it’s the way their lives are supposed to go. I also hope they have an idea of a mate or mates for him. He deserves a family I cannot imagine Gentaro living in isolation for long. Either he needs a female or a bachelor group. Prayers for a good outcome for him and his brother.
It's interesting to watch the family dynamics. Kintaro seems to be learning to let Momotaro enter the room first. Then Gentaro is third, followed by Genki.
Those cicadas are really loud! We just finished with the 13 year and 17 year cicadas.
Gentaros wound looks more like a surface wound that he maybe picking at or licking which will slow down the healing process. He has grown soooo much!
Looks like Kintaro also has had a significant growth spurt too!

I'm not too worried about Gentaro's little wound. He's strong and doesn't look like he's totally weakened. You have to be patient and watch the wound. He takes care of it himself as he learned (and in the genes) and we should wait and see. I think the zookeepers are also keeping an eye on the wound and will intervene if it becomes infected and worse. 😊💁
When Kintaro was younger, he also had small wounds everywhere from playing and running around. He did his own thing every day and it didn't limit him. 🐒☺️
You also have to be patient with Gentaro's wound. Healing does not happen quickly from one day to the next. Don't worry about it so much. Our sonny boy Gentaro is doing well. 🦍☺️😍
They say: don't shoot sparrows with cannons. Do you know?😉
With your own child, you put some wound cream on it and/or a plaster and keep watching. I think there are some mothers here who know what I mean. ☺️

O Zoo de San Diego (USA) parece estar procurando por um Silverback para assumir a tropa de Wiston, que faleceu aos 52, alguns dias atrás.
As instalações são ótimas e já sugeriram a ida de Gentaro.
Who suggest Gentaro? Those ladies at the Safari Park are seasoned older females with 2 adolescent youngsters....i dont think Gentaro is ready for that. Frank and Monroe (bachelors) are still on property in another area, I would think he would be a great choice just for stability, I don't think for mating. Up to the SSP in America.

Could the long screws on the tire be the cause of Gentaro wound? He runs by and flings the tire. When Momotaro had his neck wound it seemed to match up where the long screws are too. Maybe you can cut them back and put a rounded nut on the end of the screws. I hope you can fix that bc they seem rusty too.

Gentaro looks depressed. Apart from eating they have nothing to do in the cramped enclosure. These are intelligent beings they need mental stimulation.
@vins6036-This is 10 mins of their day.they use a computer.Remember he was born in captivity.they love their routine.it brings them security.Because of the high heat and humidity, he doesn't play as much with Kintaro.they are all less active in this season.If they are eating well and following their routine...I think that demonstrates their well being.The keepers know them like their family.they would notice any problem.I have full trust in their wonderful keepers.Gentaro even has a human father there who helped raise him as a baby.❤🦍❤😉

The gorillas are only outside for about an hour. Too difficult to film them.
I replenish water and salt while sweating out.

Des antibiotiques devraient être fournis à Gentaro pour lutter contre l infection, surtout par cette chaleur !

ゲンタロウが何度も掻いたり、カサブタをめくらなけばら大丈夫でしょう。
Ich liebe die Gorilla Familie jeder von der Familie bedeutet mir sehr viel .Ich würde mich sehr freuen wenn Gentaro eine Familie gründen könnte. Aber wie bei einer anderen Gruppe wurde der älteste Bruder Lope in Frankreich in einer Männer Gruppe getan und der jüngere Bruder Shufai wurde kastriert und blieb bei seiner Familie. Das fand ich sehr schlimm ich hoffe das mein süßer Schatz Kintaro nicht kastriert wird das würde mich sehr traurig machen.

It looks like a glorified scratch. No big deal. Im very sure the longer he spends here with momo there will be far worse injuries than this little scratch. Its past time for him to get a mate. Hes a silverback now! Must be frustrating and depressing for this poor boy. Whats going on with that? Last i heard the zoo said they wanted to move him out this year. Any progress?

@@Gorilla-Life he is a silverback now. To deny him the right to start his own family is evil. This is animal abuse. Young male gorillas ALWAYS leave the family before they become a silverback. Gentaro is one already. He should have been out by now.

@@trenkenI’ve read these two points over the years I’ve been following gorilla channels in Japan:
1. Japan does not transfer animals outside of their country
2. The zoos did not put transition plans in place for when the children reach maturity
I don’t have factual information to validate these statements are true. Again, I’ve read them as comments from other viewers. Anyone with valid information, feel free to comment further. 😊
