Bojan Babic I just figured I’d let you know a rule of baseball that should prevent hidden ball tricks. If the pitcher doesn’t have the ball, he can’t step onto the mound, if batters would just look to the pitcher, they could know when they are safe to step off the bag.

This really isn't what the sport is about. It's about hit the ball hard, run the bases. Throw the ball hard, run fast to catch the ball, decide where to throw the ball. Not trying to trick someone. It's not a game where trickery should be encouraged.

What happened on the last one: the runner (Stassi) thought he was already out, he thought Andrus (the shortstop who was supposed to have caught that throw) actually caught in and tagged him, so he started to head for the dugout. He wasn't aware that the throw had gone off Andrus's glove and into Kinsler's glove, until he tagged him

Announcers in the last clip are idiots. Clearly the runner thought he was out because the throw beat him and he wasn't looking, the ball hit the fielder's glove so it probably sounded like it was caught and he thought he was out so he started walking towards the dugout. Like he's not taking his lead for the next pitch or wandering off the base or anything, if he knew he was safe he obviously would've stayed on the bag, he's clearly walking dejectedly back to the dugout thinking he's out.
How do you watch baseball for a living and you can't even recognize that lol.

No not really. You can have a mound vist and (You are on time) the a position player can take the ball when leaving the mound and off time the players just have to make sure of 2 things the umps know you have it and nobody calls time

I don't get the second to last play. Why does the first base count when the Seattle guy already touched the second base?

SEA vs LAA: The runner was stealing and didn't see the ball get hit and where it went. The ball was caught in the outfield, but the infield players were acting like it was in the infield. The runner didn't tag up with first base after it was caught, therefore he's out.

He did not tag up which means he would have had to touch first then go to second

Because he didn’t see that the player caught it he thought he was safe at second but the player caught it and he didn’t run back to the base

@Hgyvtfygyhuh Ygihvutctvnininnin he clearly did. Not everyone watching these videos is well-versed in the rules of baseball. He knew *what* happened, he just didn't understand *why* it happened like that.

5:02 is the fine play by second at the blind spot from runner, and 4:05 What a runner just forgets to return. I don't think either is a trick play.
