some of these things listed above may be there and some may now it just all depends on how bad the ground is

You can't beat the Econoline series. Those things will go just like a Crown Victoria

This is the value of knowledge. Learning from older techs is invaluable. Great Job

I really enjoy your way of explaining a situation and the solution. Thanks.

Be blessed! Grounds are the most overlooked thing in electrical systems. Glad you figured this one out.

I had a Ford Econoline van as a work truck. It was a beast. I used to beat the he'll out of it. After I left that Job, I heard it got towed and they never bothered to get it back. Not sure why. I would have attempted to buy it if I was able too.

Had ground issues all the way back to 1972. Back to basics, grounds, fuses, connections, boom.

Pretty horrifying how fast rust eats autos up there.

Ahaha I guess we will see what happens on the. 2016 f250 work truck.
Had a p0351 pop up on a scanner and it runs rough.
Damn things gone 133k no problem till now.
So it sounds like it's a wiring or PCM issue as a quick check for 12v at the coils with the key on was there.
Vehicle repair isn't our field ,so no noid lights were available.
But the pulse at cranking was odd from side to side when watching the voltage dither on a fluke when checking at the front coil pack on either bank.
Yep, kinda half-ass but I don't have much faith in the local shop we take stuff to getting it figured out before the weekend.
    Lovely.
So I'm down until these yingyangs figure it out.
Methinks a PCM,but I'm a gen tech and I'm used to control boards blowing up all the time so I'm probably biased 🤣

I am thankful that I don’t live in the rust belt anymore. My 23 year old Econoline looks like it rolled off the assembly line.
However rust isn’t the only thing that ages a car. My 2008 F150 also looks like new, but my tiny vacuum lines are very brittle. I have a 4.6L 2V V8 and i’m not getting any codes nor is it failing the California emissions, but I need to replace all of the vacuum lines, well at least all of the tiny black rigid tubes that look slightly larger than the red tube from a WD40 can.
Do you have the part number for those rigid vacuum lines? I may also need them for my son’s 1999 E150 4.6L 2V engine.
I have watched several repair videos and I have never seen anyone mention anything about brittle vacuum lines.
I guess I could just ask my local Ford service center for the parts. I owe them for some above and beyond service I got before I owned a single Ford.
We bought tickets to a Monster Jam show in Palmdale California. The tickets were only available through the sponsor, Palmdale Ford. My wife bought the tickets over the phone for around $8 a ticket. The next morning around 8 am our local Ford parts guy hand delivered the tickets!
My wife used to work in Rosamond near Edwards Air Force Base just north of Palmdale, so we were used to making the 90 mile trip up to the high desert. We got 4 tickets delivered for less than the price of one ticket for Monster Jam at Angels stadium.

Yeah I don't know anything about part numbers for the vacuum lines I'm sorry
