PSA knows if a card (122/2024) was graded. If it’s cracked and sold on eBay raw, bought by someone else who has no idea, decides to submit it themselves, and PSA rejects it, buyer is SOL. I’d like to see PSA expand pop report search functionality to be able to find if a numbered card has previously been graded.
You say they know but they never catalog any serial numbers unlike SGC who puts the serial number on the label. How would they know if they are not cataloging the serial Number?
Thanks for the PSA on PSA Concerning up charges in the past: I cannot remember seeing a video where they up charged someone and it was not justifiable. I imagine over the next few months there is going to be a lot of complaints. They added a section about $500 max for upcharge without notification but didn't add a section in submissions to allow this or even change it. The other part about adding the "cleaning" part could mean they are going to start hitting people and charging them in mass without recourse. This seems like a huge money grab at a time when submissions usually increase. They have cemented themselves as #1 and bought a rival who was pushing #2/3 in SGC along with Beckett's ongoing issues PSA now thinks they can Panini themselves and do what they want.
The only way to have people return labels out of cracked slabs is to offer a small grading credit for each label returned. Something like $2 per label.
They would get a ton back if they offered credit, but I think the issue would be how many would trust that they wouldn't cross check what you returned with what you graded and de-register cards that were cracked that they now think were cleaned or altered?
I dont believe PSA has a right to the Physical Cert label and holder once they charge you for it and mail it to you. They have a right to the Grade and the Cert # but to say they still actually Own The Holder once it is sold to you. I don't hardly think that is actually legal. I just sold you this car. You stopped driving it and sold it to a junk yard. The car dealer says wait I only sold you the right to drive the car & not the actual physical car just the right to drive it around. As an acquaintance to a PSA employee ( not grader ) I was told they they WILL be returning not only previously graded and cracked PSA cards that are serial numbered but also but photo match for items starting at a higher value. It will happen so be careful
Technically PSA is able to identify a previously submitted card, using a high res scan as a fingerprint. I don't think it is generally in their interest to do so, as resubmits are a big chunk of their business.

the CYA part is especially important if there are unknown (and unseen) ramifications to the cards years from now due to the cleaning and substances used on the cards. PSA has a guarantee when they slab it so the owner of the card could come back to them once the issues arise and PSA could look up who graded it and possibly go after that submitter for damages to make the current owner of the card whole.
Wow I love how they slipped all that stuff in the terms and conditions. And a card can be deemed as altered, but unless you pay for a certain tier PSA doesn’t have to offer any grading notes right? How was it deemed to be altered? Just a loophole for them to keep customers money!

I got one of those back on a Griffey Nintendo card and cannot see how mine is any different from the others that have been graded. It'll be going to SGC soon so see what they say.
Is this line in section 9 saying that PSA owns the slabs all our cards are in? “PSA certification labels and holders at all times shall remain the property of PSA.”
Section 9 comment is 100% pointing at the whole Fake Jordan PMG scandal with BGS. "If we graded it wrong before and you tried to take advantage, dont use us to try and take advantage again." I guess my biggest question is, is this PSA driven or Collector's Universe driven? And if Collector's Universe driven, do we expect a terms and conditions update similar to this coming from SGC?
It’s almost like they have a monopoly here so they can pretty much do whatever they want and people still coming back and pay any sort of fee as long as they are getting the grades! Of course they are other graders but as long as everybody goes with PSA this is not going to change! This is not ending well for us collectors if this is continuing like this!
100% agree. Without the collector's PSA is nothing. Do this, do that, don't do this....suck it PSA. But simple minded people have created the monster, just like Fanatics and all there rules. Thanks for breaking down the video!
I love that they are cracking down on not using card savers bc it slows the process down. And the people that use pull tabs probably wear socks to the beach
😂 Damn, didn’t know there was a cool kid group for PSA card submissions. Wait until the “cool kids” find out how what we look like when we apply hot breath to cards. 😂😂😂
First guy to tell me about submitting recommended pull tabs.....he had also just gotten back a griffey ud rc, looked clean. A 4!! Connection? Prob won't go to beach to find out tho😂
Just ignore the terms and conditions and take a chance when submitting your cards to PSA and that they will grade them for you(platinum member) or NOT grade them at all(first-timer) thus you losing your cards because they suspect you altered, trimmed, cleaned, etc thus putting you on their bunco list as a shady customer.
Alot of these are ok in my opinion. With the millions of cards graded every year i assume there are a ton of people trying to submit cards at lower tiers then not replying fast enough or at all when they are asked for upcharges. Having it streamlined means faster turnout. Toploaders vs semirigid submissions have been a thing for a while now. Looks like they are finally going to start charging for improper card packaging. Again fine with me if it streamlines everything.
If we paid for the PSA membership PRIOR to these new terms then these new terms do not apply until the end of the membership. Any lawyer will back that up.
Here's the problem. If this is to scare people, it won't work since most people won't see it. Secondly, they will probably just look past group submitters and just nail the little guy since the group submitters bring them so much money. Next, I don't know how I feel about cleaning of vintage cards, given that museums clean and restore artwork and comic books get cleaned and pressed. Regardless, PSA is going to start pressing and cleaning comic books themselves in a few months. Seems like a double standard. Overall, I bet we just see an increase in upcharges and in additional fees by PSA. My question is, when are they going to start giving back to us when they do stupid things like can't follow through on their end or when they do things like switch the labels on cases/cards, like they just did to me. It costs me time and money, so I should be compensated, but they don't care. Or how about when they jacked up my card, that I have pictures of.
On the upcharge side, this will free up the backlog of when your cards sit in limbo and you forget to check your email for a few days and didn't realize you need to review and approve an upcharge. And like you said, the card prep side seems to be a CYA in case they have a massive submitter that is in violation.
in the next couple of months??? lol ill set the over/under of someone not reading the new t&c's and loudly complaining about being upcharged on social media at 2 weeks after it goes into effect.
My house caught fire and is under construction. My PSA order was shipped to that address and the shipper didn’t deliver but rather took the package to their fed-ex fraud department completely across the country and because PsA was the sender, they won’t deal with me directly. PSA is vacant for customer service. I’ve explained over and over and they just tell me it will work out over time. I call fed ex and the package still sitting in their fraud department! Almost a year has gone by…I’m just gonna have to kiss that whole Order goodbye!
I bet 9 times out of 10 a group submitter isn't "prepping" your card for more than 5 second wipe. They could care less about cleaning your card imo so I wouldn't worry about them really shining up your card lol
So, what if the grader states that a card that I submitted stated that I cleaned the surface of a card? But I never did before sending to them. It's literally their word against anyone. It is based to the ability of the grader and not every are equal... terrible terms.
what about what you do with cards that are encased in acrylic with a tab that seals the card? You have said in the past you did it that way to show that the card has not been removed and put into another holder. Just curious if that is covered in this new letter.
Very low % of people will actually send in the old labels from crack and re-submit. Why would you when they will use the previous grade to influence the new grade? Ruins the point of cracking out in the 1st place.
I bought a Jeter #'d card from COMC, sent it to PSA came back altered. I buy raw cards from ebay and send them to PSA...what if the original seller cleaned it for ebay sales, I buy and I submit to PSA without knowing it was cleaned. Would an ebay authentic guarantee work, and who does the guarantee for ebay?
What happens if the card's from the 1960's and has dirt marks and dust on the surface. Do they mark that as altered because it's gone from mint to poor condition?
What about sending in an old or scratched holder for replacement? Will they still give it the same grade and cert it was originally given? It sounds like they're saying, once the card is out of the holder it is treated as a never-graded card.
no pull tabs?!?! this is ridiculous. i will still be putting oull tabs on all my card savers. card savers SUCK! more card corners have been ruined by cardsavers than anything.
No foolin around today! Topps Rip Party, head to an LCS ttoday that has a Topps account, they will have some good deals, giveaways etc. Always a lotta fun!
PSA should have a category for restored cards. CBCS does it, comics can get restored, and as long as you submit under that premise then no harm no foul.
Why don't Panini and Topps put an ID number on every card? That way, for grading and other purposes, every individual card could be identified? IT seems a big miss, and something the grading companies should be pushing for.
It would be nice if they were more specific about what constitutes altering. I've seen plenty of videos of people using isopropyl rubbing alcohol to wipe a chrome card and don't consider it altering - does that count to PSA? And if so, how would they even be able to tell - its alcohol, it evaporates. It's not like they can put it under a black light or something and see it. I'm assuming they probably mean whatever Kurt's Card Care is, but is that stuff noticeable? From the videos I've seen it doesn't appear to leave any residue. This is a slippery slope - I can see a scenario where someone pulls a pack fresh card, maybe there's still some factory manufacturing residue on it, they send it in and PSA goes NOPE - its altered! The hilarious part of which would be if the person were to have wiped off the gunk, it would have been considered not altered. I don't see how they enforce this, it's not like wax that leaves residue. I assume it's just CYA.
So are you going to get charged for Minsize? I had a kobe card I cracked out of a BGS case graded 8.5 and graded 6 with PSA. Cracked it out again and resubmitted and they did not grade it due to minsize. It was not serial numberd card either.
I hope they don’t up charge my Tetairoa McMillan 1st bowman Auto. I sent it in before any recorded sales were established. Had I know it was a $700 card I wouldn’t have sent it in on a football special.
I’m kinda curious about using their bulk grading. If I only send in 20 cards. Which is just enough to be considered bulk. Then with one of those cards, PSA deems the value is higher than the value limit for using their bulk. So they up charge and now you only have 19 at bulk price. Do they take the bulk discount away?
@@NEO_Cards_Comics Thank you! I have only sent in 4 or 5 submissions. Since I was unsure how that worked, I always submitted a few above the minimum amount, just incase. Thanks again!
The credit card bit is only a problem for PC stuff unless there is a serious disagreement about card value, right?.. The cleaning stuff would all be fine if PSA was more of an open book about methods and standards... They've been using AI for a while and no doubt have other methods to check for alterations... Unfortunately they are taking the stance of secrecy in order to catch the minority of submitters who grossly abuse the 'rules' that they pretty much established themselves... SGC anyone?(yeah, I know who owns them...)
Exactly -- thin stickers like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will get bent in Card Savers. Submitting in top loader is the clear best way to avoid bends and wrinkles when PSA takes out and puts back in the stickers. How do they not get this? They should say top loaders are okay for stickers
@NEO_Cards_Comics I've always put the cards in penny sleeves, then put them in the standard size storage pvc sleeves .......I always call them toploaders which is probably wrong.
@@nicholasmantia9052 Top loaders are more firm and don't bend well. A card saver (better known as a semi-rigid card holder) is much more flexible and sounds like what you are describing.

If you pay, this is ridiculous…. That’s like saving I bought Chevy truck, cash, but it remains property of GM. Bunk!
Section 12 (d) aka " If we get sued we gonna sue your butt also " lmao
😂😂😂😂
Section 9 comment is 100% pointing at the whole Fake Jordan PMG scandal with BGS. "If we graded it wrong before and you tried to take advantage, dont use us to try and take advantage again." I guess my biggest question is, is this PSA driven or Collector's Universe driven? And if Collector's Universe driven, do we expect a terms and conditions update similar to this coming from SGC?
Good point on SGC
Great recap. Several interesting updates to the t&c's.
what do you guys use for thick cards? Are there card savers?
Wait, so I can no longer submit cards for authentic altered slab?
It’s almost like they have a monopoly here so they can pretty much do whatever they want and people still coming back and pay any sort of fee as long as they are getting the grades! Of course they are other graders but as long as everybody goes with PSA this is not going to change! This is not ending well for us collectors if this is continuing like this!
Couldn't have said it better. They know they have the hobby by the balls and until the collective changes their ways, PSA will continue to squeeze.
The sand is hot 😂😂😂😂
🤣
@@ryanra44 personally, I hate using card savers. I always feel like my corners are getting smashed.
This is very good info thank you Neo
Everything this guy said is standard procedure.
Thanks 4 the info. I hate to read the terms and conditions.
What annoyed me about PSA is they have all these submission rules but they return my slabs completely out of order from the form. 😂
I’ll continue cleaning my cards and continue getting 10s
If it's got some shit on it, you get it off
Me too!
Like the ceo of sgc said, if you're cleaning your cards well there's nothing for us to catch. We can't catch what's not there
So if you buy a numbered card on ebay and want to send in for grading, they can reject it... wow that's gonna suck.
There is no "bright side" to this
This doesn’t seem like a big deal.
The upcharge is wild. Why do they think they deserve extra money because a valuable card was graded. Money hungry idiots.
Yeah, Nat Turner out
Do you think "doctoring" include breathing on the card and then wiping the card down with a microfiber cloth?
That’s technically cleaning but why would you send a card in with dust all over it. I don’t think it’s something to worry about
What are extra reasons psa may charge you if you pack everything correctly?
can you make a video demonstating how it needs to be shipped thank you
in the next couple of months??? lol ill set the over/under of someone not reading the new t&c's and loudly complaining about being upcharged on social media at 2 weeks after it goes into effect.
It’s impossible to speak to a supervisor over there when there is an issue, and they are all strict on things. Some transparency haha.
Almost a year has gone by…I’m just gonna have to kiss that whole
Order goodbye!
Being upcharged is a good thing in my opinion
Don’t these PSA upcharges resemble more and more the proposed Unrealized Capital Gains Tax?
I bought a Jeter #'d card from COMC, sent it to PSA came back altered. I buy raw cards from ebay and send them to PSA...what if the original seller cleaned it for ebay sales, I buy and I submit to PSA without knowing it was cleaned. Would an ebay authentic guarantee work, and who does the guarantee for ebay?
What happens if the card's from the 1960's and has dirt marks and dust on the surface. Do they mark that as altered because it's gone from mint to poor condition?
Use penny sleeves with pull tabs. There is at least 2 companies which have this. Problem solved!!
Why would you pay someone to slab it? You can just buy a one-touch
What about sending in an old or scratched holder for replacement? Will they still give it the same grade and cert it was originally given? It sounds like they're saying, once the card is out of the holder it is treated as a never-graded card.
Just sent 2 cards Today.. ..
Hopefully it works out.....
no pull tabs?!?!
this is ridiculous. i will still be putting oull tabs on all my card savers. card savers SUCK! more card corners have been ruined by cardsavers than anything.
They cut the card savers and then take the cards out.
No foolin around today! Topps Rip Party, head to an LCS ttoday that has a Topps account, they will have some good deals, giveaways etc. Always a lotta fun!
Uh, sir, this is a Wendy's....
Some many factors trying to destroy the hobby. This is another 1
breakers? check? idiots? check...
PSA should have a category for restored cards. CBCS does it, comics can get restored, and as long as you submit under that premise then no harm no foul.
bunch of idiots in the comic world.
Is PSA going to allow cleaning, pressing, restoring and "doctoring" for comic books or does this only apply to trading cards?
Why don't Panini and Topps put an ID number on every card? That way, for grading and other purposes, every individual card could be identified? IT seems a big miss, and something the grading companies should be pushing for.
That would mean revealing the print run, allowing people to truly see how overprinted and worthless the cards are
@@gsquared.collectibles8392 that would be kinda cool actually. lol
Water and alcohol have chemicals in them...they leave stains that the naked eye can't see
They cannot detect cleaning/waxing. Even they will admit this. If you are dumb enough to leave wax residue on the card you deserve the upcharge.
Returning labels should be an incentive for collectors to participate rather than a part of their terms of service. Gtfo with your demands PSA.
No they do not
@@NEO_Cards_Comics Thank you!
No way I'm putting a think card in a card saver.i know you said possibly an exception
Anybody know if the penny sleeves with the pull tab built is allowed , or are they just talking about adding your own pull tab to a penny sleeve
Just use standard penny sleeves inside a semi-rigid holder. PSA doesn't want to be spending time undoing tabs and stuff.
What about redemptions that come in toploaders? Or cards that come in a label sealed magnetic holder???
I have paper thin cards that need grading. I can't put them in a Card Saver as they'll get damaged
@@JohnnyCondon9 It might be time to look at CSG!?
@@dacryptkeeper6836 Yeah, I haven't tried them yet. Waiting for them to introduce an oversized slab
What's a "card saver"?
I'm familiar with toploaders but not a card saver....& why are they changing this toploader option now??
You were never suppose to submit cards in top loaders
@NEO_Cards_Comics
I've always put the cards in penny sleeves, then put them in the standard size storage pvc sleeves .......I always call them toploaders which is probably wrong.
@@nicholasmantia9052 Top loaders are more firm and don't bend well. A card saver (better known as a semi-rigid card holder) is much more flexible and sounds like what you are describing.
@@funcle_kevin Probably.....
They're the Beckett card holder 25 pack
What if you team bag your SR1 will they reject?
What is a SR1?

Sod this. I's submitting my cards to NASA (North American Sports Card Authentication) from now on
Hey PSA...I only got one thing to say. PWCC...
Spread your cheeks folks, here comes more PSA assault 💀
Smart move by psa a lot of ppl with tech to trim the cards
