Very good video ....No shaking camera and a detailed instructions..Doesn't get any better...Thanks for taking time to post, you have helped me and others as well I'm sure...
Great video, thanks for posting it, my nearest dealership is 70 miles away and you can't drive it that far with a caliper that is sticking. I appreciate your help.
Nice vid ....Those clips are intimidating. My 08 250 proved to be a stumper...needed a drawing!
Thanks this video helped a lot appreciate you 👍
You’re sure hell on the brake lines. Support those calipers! Don’t let them dangle on the lines.
At 11:00 that second little clip on the bottom is outside the caliper bracket frame. There is only supposed to be one (the large one with the L-shaped foot) should be outside. The second clip (anti-rattle clip) is supposed to be inside the bracket to keep the caliper from rattling. It is designed to keep the brake pad pressed up and eliminates rattle once it has some wear. It is placed on the correct pad and in the right place (should be placed bottom outside pad passenger and driver) but it should have been squeezed together with fingers to make it slide inside when sliding the pad into the bracket. The way it got placed it is just assisting the other pad hanger clip. (The inside pad that contacts the actual caliper does not get an anti-rattle spring clip). When you step on the brake there is a tendency to develope a little slop with miles that allow the pad to move in the bracket slightly. The anti-rattle clip is designed to keep the pad spring loaded against the top to eliminate that. At 16:50 the video flashes to a brake bleeding scene and shows the clip suddenly in the correct position.
Exactly I was thinking the same
You should make a video, this guy sucks
@@DonDellinger-xk3fw Thanks so much but lets not be too harsh and we should try to be constructive. It takes a lot of time to make these videos and there is not much money in it. A big thanks to Fixing Cars and Stuff for posting the video. He has helped a lot of people get through this.
❤ liked the video, thank you!😊😊😊😊😊😊
I've never in my life seen someone drop the caliper on the brake line like that.
DanielDaniel1 i cringed too
DanielDaniel1 that is super bad for the line. It can cause unseen damage and compromise the integrity of the line
I take the bottom bolt off 1st. It prevents that issue

VERY HELPFUL. THANKS.
Awesome video, very informative, thanks for sharing! One question though, when you were bleeding the brakes and had one end of the tube in the bottle, what was the other end connected to?
Very good, thank-you.
thanks, that helped a lot!
Good vid. Thanks!
We got America's Got Talent in the background
I like the trick with the tubing and bottle to bleed the brakes by yourself!
Thanks for the post. It was very informative. I have a question if this post isn't too old. How can you tell if the calipers are causing the brake pads to drag too much. My passenger side rear brake smoked a couple times when pulling my trailer but when I took it apart I couldn't find anything wrong except I couldn't budge the calipers. Is that normal? I have an F350 duelly and it's hard to tell since I can't spin it. (afraid it would start rolling if I put it in neutral) I could rock it back and forth a little and it didn't feel like it was dragging much.
What do you do when the pedal still goes to the floor after bleeding the breaks
Same thing happened to me. went to parts store and asked for left rear caliper. Put it on the vehicle and could get no pedal when bleeding brakes what I did get was a soft brake pedal. Ordered a master cylinder thinking that was the problem. Talked to some friends and they said you have to change both calipers at the same time if you are replacing front or rear (which I don't think is true). So went to same parts store and got right rear brake caliper. The clerk actually said Passenger side rear and I said yes. Installed and still had soft pedal, brakes would not pump up hard. So watched a couple of youtube videos, this one being one of them. One video the guy said open the bleed valve and let the brake fluid gravity feed until it drips out of the valve. So I went out to the vehicle and did this. While doing this, I noticed the bleed valve on both rear calipers, that I had newly installed, was on the bottom of the caliper. Something I had failed to pay attention to. The front calipers, the bleed valve was on the top. I got to thinking the bleed valve should be on the top to allow the air to completely bleed out of the caliper. When the bleed valve is on the bottom, air is trapped in the top of the caliper and you will never get it out. So I switched the left to right caliper now the bleed valves are at the top and all the air bled out and my brakes were fine. Lesson here is make sure and check at the parts store to make sure they sell you the correct side at purchase. The master cylinder is still in the box.
It pays to watch more than one vid, there's another vid on this subject that mentions mounting the caliper with the bleed screw in the up position.
Interesting. My brakes were last done by a shop. Doing myself this time and noticed they didn’t use that second clip on the bottom end of the outer pads.
What could happen without that?
Anti-rattle clip. Brakes will still work fine but annoying pad rattle noise after 20k miles. Read my comments above.
What’s the torque specs for the calipers bolts?
Same for a DRW F350?
Only guessing that it is, I would just check with your local parts store and see if the parts are the same. I can't imagine rear wheel disc brakes would be that much different from single to dual.
Fixing cars and stuff Appreciate the response my friend!
And this is how you fly by the seat of your pants. Honey, your car wont be ready, I have to go get brake fluid and then can you help me bleed the breaks. Oh shoot, the hose ripped off.
Can I cut those rotors?
DARN ! Ain't you supposed to tie and support the caliper so it won't falling down like that?
Haven't found a video on youtube of anyone who actually knows how to install superduty brake pads correctly. Guess ill keep looking.
So…what was wrong with this version?
First of all prying caliper to compress it is not a good idea if reusing caliper, antirattle clip on bottom of outside brake pad is not correctly installed, its is obvious that the brake rotor has been glowing red from heat , looks like park brake was stuck on. Park brake should have been inspected and rotor replaced, rotor wasnt resurfaced either.
Plus flexible brake line should be replaced with caliper.
He let air back into the system when he removed the hose and then closed the brake bleeder. I should have not wasted my time after i saw him drop that caliper that way. Not only that he ordered brakes for another car lol. Lost 19 minutes of my life todd.
Removed the caliper the wrong way and then let the caliper hang by the brake hose. I stopped watching at this point. Total hack
Sir I have ford 2006 f550 6.0 diesel. I'm cheng the rear rotor break. But I have not 4 lug soket. & I'm wich way do that
Gora Lally you need to buy or rent the right tools so you can do the job.

@@dangskippy9308 Ouch, brake job and an English class all in one.
Can’t believe you dropped the caliper on the brake line like that. Yikes.
This is an actual shop...you drop the caliper like that? Take the bottom bolt out first you clown
Cannot hear
This guy uses air gun for everything
I stopped watching after you dropped caliper.. wtf
He dropped the caliber not good but not that big of a deal you must be a perfect person I don't know why you were watching an instructional video anyway your God
LOL, you may want to delete this.
