What a coincidence! Yesterday I was watching your reviews about these two, to decide which one was best for me. Thank you so much, your videos are awesome!
@@DinosDragons do you think Nanmu is better than W-Dragon Allosaurus, 6 to 2 is really a big difference? somehow I like W-Dragon's Allosaurus better Kind regards
@@Steppe0371 That's an interesting question. First of all, this will of course be subjective, and I suggest in the video some points for comparison based on a survey I did where I asked viewers what was important to them. That said, how you score them will be different than another person, so ultimately it depends on what you are looking for, and as I explain at the end, an overall visceral feel that overrides any scoring system. Based on the score, the Nanmmu seems to win. But based on overall personal feeling, I prefer the W-Dragon. This also varies day to day. Somedays you think one is better, other days you think the other. The important thing is appreciating and being happy with what you have, and giving yourself the flexibility to like prefer different things at different times 😊
@@DinosDragons Thanks for the answer, what's great about the Nanmu is that the mouth is movable, but the head of the W-Dragon just looks better and more lively, although I'm more of a Nanmu fan, unfortunately the W-Dragon theropod is sold out almost everywhere ☹️try it still get him.
You are most welcome! That's what I hope to be able to do, contribute to people's appreciation of their models or aid in their decision making process. I understand these are not cheap models in the West!
IMHO your reviews are the best, they are full of details based on the most recent paleontological discoveries, I really appreciate your research work. Returning to Allosaurus Nanmu vs W-Dragon I don't know which one to choose, maybe I would also choose the W-Dragon one which, despite its flaws, has a better predator pose and reminds me at the running allosaurus in Sideshow's masterpiece diorama "Allosaurus vs Camarasaurus" you know it for sure :) PS. I am waiting for the PNSO Allosaurus :)
I do know the Sideshow diorama, but unfortunately I never managed to get one at a price that wouldn't bankrupt me. I would say, go with your heart. Which one do you like? And not by what anyone else's standards are! Or, you could just go with PNSO 😁
This new series is starting off great, also I wish a good day you awesome dude. Also I choose the W-Dragon Allo, cause it remain me of WWD's Allosaurus, and cause I looks awesome( but I love the Namu as well, just not today. )
I recently bought the Nanmu Allosaurus (still waiting for it to arrive). Sadly I did not notice till this video review (and something that was never mentioned) is the giant and very noticeable lettering on it's groin giving it a very toy like esthetic and limiting the display angle if you do not want that showing. the Nanmu also seems to have more noticeable join seams than the W-Dragon. I fear I may have purchased the wrong figure, as in my opinion, the W-Dragon looks more professional and more realistic despite it's anatomical faults.
In fact, what you write about the writing on the groin is something I've recently contemplated, as I went through my collection trying to start cataloguing what I have. In cases where it's hidden, it's not so bad. But when it is seen even in a normal situation, from a casual viewing experience, it really takes away. I guess I'm a little immune now, able to ignore it from my visuals, but I imagine it would be a real eyesore for most people!
As far as allosaurus goes I have 2 particular favourites. I believe the most accurate allosaurus on the market currently is the pnso offering, and the coolest looking “pop culture” “allosaurus” is the rebor saurophaganax (I’m counting it because it’s debateable that Sauro is just a big allosaurus)
Those are definitely good selections! I don't collect pop culture ones except for a handful of JPesque ones from Nanmu, but I think Rebor has had good offerings as far as detail and paint apps go. I wonder if one day we'll ever know anything definitive about Saurophaganax, but I would not be complaining if PNSO decided to make one in the same scale as their Allosaurus!
@@DinosDragons I would love to see pnso take on the saurophaganax! The only offerings I’m aware of are from rebor and the little one from collecta I think…
I don't know! Come to think of it, that's a genus I don't have at all in that rough size. In fact the only _only_ Ceratosaurus I've every owned is the PNSO large vinyl one, and _that_ one doesn't fit in with most collections!
There are many older figures that look amazing, and not just because of their scientific accuracy. Indeed, if it weren't for lack of space, I would have a lot more inaccurate but pleasing figures! The PNSO review is out by the way!
I believe taste has a lot to do with it. For ineffable reasons, some aesthetics just appeal to you, and others don't. That's why even though I had this cute little point system, in the end my overall was still the W-dragon between these two! 😁
Definitely! The W-Dragon has that special something. The Nanmu looks really good, but for something more majestic and makes a statement representing this fierce predator of the Jurassic, the W-Dragon has it!
Actually quite a few people have told me that too! So they chose W-Dragon as their Allosaurus. It's an awesome model to have, especially seen up close and personally!
you can actually send stuff to heaven without destroying them all you need is a spellcaster. a spellcaster is a person who casts a spell Spell-caster, a magician, that is, a practitioner of magic as portrayed in works of fiction Spell-caster, in gaming, a wizard or mage with the ability to cast and They can be found on different sites such as RUclips, google, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and sometimes dating sites and plus you send them to the spellcaster by using the regular shipping companies then they’ll send them to heaven and a Spellcaster is a person who casts a spell Spellcaster, a magician, that is, a practitioner of magic as portrayed in works of fiction Spellcaster, in gaming, a wizard or mage with the ability to cast spells
I would have gotten the Nanmu one but whatˋs realy bugging me are these spikes ("osteoderms") all over the spine. I hate it when companys do that with their Dinosaurs (Papo,PNSO,Nanmu) to make them look cooler. For me it seems like a 8 year old came up with the design, it looks so unnatural to me. So I decided to get the W-Dragon model. It makes me so sad that PNSO went with this aswell for their Allosaurus, especially because their model is so realistic in proportion.
Actually, this is a speculative feature that has not been conclusively shown to be fictional, so perhaps that's some small consolation. If I recall, there seemed to be some suggestion that sauropods had them, which is why many modern reconstructions have them for sauropods too! Out of all three, I personally feel PNSO has the best balance, so it would be a pity if you allowed those spikes to be a rejection factor. The W-Dragon has its own imperfections, but if that's all you ever got, I don't think you have much to complain about! It is still an absolutely worthy model to have on your desk, and still a favourite of mine!
I was quite surprised how polarizing the PNSO Allosaurus was. I would say that if you don't like something, go with something you prefer! Some people get into the trap of being a completist or loyalist, but I really feel ultimately what goes in your colletion should be something _you_ like. These two Allosauruses, for example, have some inaccuracies, but if you want to make either _your_ definite Allosaurus, go for it! 😁
@@DinosDragons 💯% PNSO does amazing work, but I just feel the overall design and silhouettes are executed much better from W Dragon and Nanmu. I also prefer the color schemes and patterns on these 2 figures. PNSO was just sorta bland. I also don't like the fact that such a fearsome carnivore was given baby blue eyes... 😑🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
