So true! It's a rollercoaster ride of emotions learning a language but such fun! The trick for me is to occasionally stop and see how much I do know and remember the first few lessons where I knew nothing and then be proud of how far I have come, irrespective of the time it has taken. Most of all I enjoy the journey. Thanks Pat for making this journey laidback and fun!

I got you. I feel the same, actually in my case I love to learn new things in english or Spanish and that's why I keep practicing and feel happy 😊

The difficulty with language learning is that it's not like learning software development for example, where you can say "here's an app I created". It's just a slow, unremarkable process of absorption where you have moments of feeling the thrill of understanding, but most of the time you're just plodding along. Once you get into it, you're not nowhere but you're not really somewhere either, just somewhere in between. I'll admit, that's a bit frustrating as I come to the end of a year and all I can say is I'm better at Polish in some general sense :)

Very true. Progression kind of creeps up on you and one day you're like 'omg, I just had a fluent conversation'.
Appreciate your comment and support as always, Shaun! Happy new year 🎉
