I didn't think i would be so thoroughly entertained by a review for a transformer toy that I couldn't care less about. That's what makes this channel the best Transformer content on youtube. Good show!
Thew how dare you insult Big Rescue Force. He is CLEARLY the best G1 Combine- No, Best Combiner OF ALL TIME!~ Look at those Sexy arms! and that amazing Head Sculpt! The amount of effort going into releasing them in the UK was very clearly immense.
The Combined form reminds me of the Bionicle Toa Kaita. A combination of three robots _(the Toa are Biomechanical, not really robots, but still)_ whos arms look absolutely stubby compared to their Freakishly-long, permanently saddle-sore legs!
I do love that late G1 era when the Transformers feel like their own KO, something you could have picked up at a motorway service station in Dieppe. And I really love the satisfying heft of these lads - so satisfying to handle and not ever, every worry about breaking anything. Chunk chunk chunk chunk chunk.
8:35: Pause the video to laugh for about half a minute. Catch my breath. Laugh some more. Pull myself together. Start laughing again. Give up and come back later. (Th)you, my friend are comedy gold.
Man I'm glad I decided to for whatever reason search for a review of Cybertron Scourge a couple of months ago and found your channel. Every video is a miraculous brew of British charm, alliteration and new words to add to my vocabulary. Happy holidays, everyone! :D
Fabulous pacing on this one, reminds me of the Action Master Skyfall video for some reason. Always a treat to see you go on about these older toys. Have a happy christmas!
Master Farr in Japan the headmaster heads are small Transformers and the large bodies are their power armor. Same with Brainmasters and Powermasters engines. The Targetmaster large robots are alive, and their guns are basically Micromasters with gun alt modes who are linked to the larger robots telepathy.
It varies. Sometimes Headmasters are organic beings that kinda do a mental-merging deal, other times they're tiny robots using a big robot as like a mechsuit. Targetmasters, though, are more consistent. A Targetmaster is basically a tiny dude who turns into your gun so he can put all the focus on aiming while you run around or get into cover.
Mister Bad Guy But the only incarnation of the BrainMasters are from the Japanese anime Transformers Victory, where they are little robots. So no, no dead human.
Didn't have Flame, or know much about them when I got them, but it was clear there was more to them than just singular bots. Still good fun, if very Micromaster in design. I liked Gripper's big spikey tyres though.
3:07 That bit made me notice how in the last years of G1 the Italian names started being recycled over and over between more characters. To say, "Ghibli" could be referring either to Sandstorm, Slapdash (actually his Japanese counterpart Road King, OK), Big Daddy or Flame, "Phantom" to either Streetwise, Minerva, Sky High or Gripper and "Starbot" is shared between both the Lightspeed (this one and the Technobot one) plus Ranger (Joyride's Japanese bro)
@@toygrind i would also imagine they wouldn't be just the original ones, but completely new ones to make the combined form different from Road Caesar? maybe unique weapons for each of them as well?
When Flame got squished in his head, I laughed my ass off. Great review, so goofy but I totally dig the engineering that went into pushing the face up into the head.
+ParanormalFood Upon hearing that bit I of course immediately imagined them actually propelling the cars forward like that, complete with bongo drum sound effect.
Thew, mate. Holy crap. I have had Gripper and Flame for years and never been able to identify them, having only learnt today who the bollocks they were. Got them second hand in like 2003 with no box and loved them. I do not have Lightspeed, and only knew that name as a Technobot. I absolutely love this review, and agree with every word and squelchy bit of VFX!! How freaking good is the little elevator platform bit though? Always been my fave head-mastery line. You don't know where I can get an "Energon Figure" for Flame, by any chance do you? They do mix and match but it's weird to do so.
First off: bloody brilliant performance by Thew. I was already chuckling... but I nearly fell off the chair laughing when I realized that this is an incomplete version of the awe-magnificent Road Caesar, YET it is still a really cool toy. Imagine that! Road Caesar is so stupendous, even an incomplete version is drool-worthy!
I have immense and unyielding hope that Titans Return or Prime Wars gives them the chance to make a Star Saber that doesn't cost 200 bucks since he's still unaccounted for in MTMTE
One day I shall collect Gripper and Flame to go with my Lightspeed. Didn't know they could combine when I was a kid. I don't think it was even mentioned on any of the packaging or instructions.
I love them as a wacky combiner. Big Motorvator is really hard to collect online too. I wish someone like FansProject would make Road Ceaser and Big Motorvator as toys.
A Thew Review sitting in my sub box the moment I struggle to pull myself outta bed? Fuck yeah Although if I may point this out, the Brainmasters are a weird exception to the typical "humanoid sod stuck in robot armor" thing every other -Master uses, since Brainmasters are actual robots. ...Seeing all the Nebulons exploding was friggin' hysterical though
That leg in torso reminds me of a kill in my dream was a character named Ed by him turn into a zombie and I torn his legs off and I smashed his head into pieces
Oh Christmas Thew, Oh Christmas Thew, Wish i could grow a beard like you. . . . that could have been better, but it's 7am & i haven't been to sleep yet.
Why are the brainmasters legs so thin and lanky while their bodies are brickish and buff? it seems they need to stop skipping leg day. Random thing that had to be said, sidewalk vinaigrette killed me. Merry Christmas to Thew!
Planning to make few review before 2015 comes to end? As I would like to see you to review TF Generations Thrilling 30 Tankor, G2 Dreadwing (what was noticed on Scoop review), Chromia and Arcee. Please..
I always imagine the headmasters are just small robots and the body is just equipment they plug into. No it makes no sense but my childlike imagination likes it
If illiteration was a fossil fuel, Greenpeace would be handcuffing. (I don't think that's something they do though) +6 hp Gladiators Series 1 reference. Love x
God, if someone asked me to explain what I loved about all 80s toys I had as a kid. hitting them in the face with these guys would do the trick. love the!
" sidewalk vinaigrette " easily the best thing I have ever heard in my life
It is it is … 🤣🤣😭
Watching this in the future knowing he eventually completes this set through the love of his fans is just the most wholesome thing
I didn't think i would be so thoroughly entertained by a review for a transformer toy that I couldn't care less about. That's what makes this channel the best Transformer content on youtube. Good show!
+Jason Wilkerson oh heavens, thank you :D
+Thew Adams I'd love to see him and choo-chooticus go toe-to-toe :)
I watch for that very reason, although he occasionally has figures I'm interested in
@@TyphonMar same!

+Toolala We were truly blessed by his presence
@@toygrind NOT! XD
I don't think I'll ever hear anyone describe a Transformer as "pre-Raphaelite" again, and that is what's wrong with the world.
Looks like the motorvators need some 3D printed roadcaesar combiner bits that match his colors!
The Combined form reminds me of the Bionicle Toa Kaita. A combination of three robots _(the Toa are Biomechanical, not really robots, but still)_ whos arms look absolutely stubby compared to their Freakishly-long, permanently saddle-sore legs!
Blackheartzero, the Underground Song Critic that’s actually a great comparison
This episode definitely hits different after that Damnit Open episode where you got the missing parts to make the combiner complete :D

So glad this video got a happy ending
Just had to pop back and watch this after your latest Dammit, Open.
Great review as always. I laughed out loud at the screams of the Nebulans and blood spewing from the Energon figure.
4:17 Impalement LOL

uh thew...the brain master guys aren't human.
+Alex Dalton phew!
Lol in japan Nebulons were robots too XD

By far one of the most entertaining and hilarious things I've seen on RUclips. Keep the goodness up Thew! :)

I just like to say "elevator-face murder-thing." There's a terrible '90s, pseudo-metal band name if ever I've heard one.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Thewster.

"It's dumb as a bucket of bimbos" -Thew Adams, 2015
Good times all around! Merry Christmas!
I always wondered who those other Transformers on Overlord's artwork were! Thanks Thew, I now have a few G1's added to my "Sought After" list!
"creepy robot flintstones" hah
+ParanormalFood Upon hearing that bit I of course immediately imagined them actually propelling the cars forward like that, complete with bongo drum sound effect.
Someone send this man the road ceaser combiner bits!!!
Merry Christmas Thew
Petition to get a Kingdom Road Caesar box set
Best Xmas present! 33 minutes into Chrimbo and I can satisfy my Thewdiction with an awesome vid!
Your videos always make me smile.
Has/Tak love making yellow Lamborghinis. And I want them all.
I want a bucket of combiner wars guns
The elevator face makes sense. They are brainmasters after all.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE THEW
I used to have Lightspeed. I briefly had Flame but he had to be taken back to the shop as the head was missing.
+Mark Moore aw booooo
Possibly your funniest review to date, cracking stuff.
Have a lovely Chrimbo, sir!
4:30 mark. I watched that few seconds at least 30 times!!!

merry Christmas thew!

It never gets old.
The third party release of these three within the last few years was awesome
15000 subs congrats man

4:26-32 LOL God Thew you would possibly be the only review who would see the gore factor on these gimmicks!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had Gripper as a kid and loved the energon figure gimmick
I'm sure someone has said it, but the caption for the combine mode on the wiki is "behold, sidewalk vinaigrette" or something similar
All I want for Christmas is Thew!
You better not pout you better not cry cuz tonight Thew's going in dry!
I subcribe just for that, Man!
"Corpse Face"
Oh my GOD, THEW, way to send me toppling out my chair laughing like a dying donkey at 3AM. My cat will never look at me the same.

Love me some Vintage Thew.

Wish i could grow a beard like you.
. . . that could have been better, but it's 7am & i haven't been to sleep yet.
Gigamborghini sounds like a great name for a power metal trio with a song on an Iron Eagle movie soundtrack.
I had Flame once, but he had no tires, no Brainmaster, no weapon... I think the top of the car was missing as well
4:31
Jesus, Thew!
That is a bit too realistic! The gore is unbelievably high!
sidewalk vinaigrette! lmao!
You've just tempted me into hunting these guys down; hadn't even realized they left in the Brains/ENERGON FIGURES.
Hasbro would have to had to remold the figures entirely to scrap the Brainmaster feature.
‘Sidewalk vinaigrette’ 🙌😅😂🤣
Actually Thew, the bigger ones are the Cybertronians and the Brainmasters are the alternate bodies.
Is that an Offspring shirt?
+Cole Frambes yeah dawg!
1:47 Wait! What!? Did I hear that right?!
"Much like your Dad does" made belly laugh out loud
Well the Brain masters were actually Cybertronians as well they just needed the bigger forms as well power armor.
I still chuckle at the name "Road Ceasar"
Why are the brainmasters legs so thin and lanky while their bodies are brickish and buff? it seems they need to stop skipping leg day. Random thing that had to be said, sidewalk vinaigrette killed me. Merry Christmas to Thew!
The legs are so thin to fit in the torso to push the brains out.
The techno Babel that makes brain masters possible are that their spine detached
😐
I had Lightspeed as a kid I had no idea they connected Australia got them

I didn't know Brainmasters were so friggin' METAL!
They literally impale themselves on their own legs to form the big robot's face with their guts? I don't care what anyone says, that's metal as hell.
@ 6:59 what feet are those on superion?
Wait.....aren't these three part of Scorponok's crew in the IDW comics?
