Admiral Raddus is badass. When Mon Mothma finds out they've gone for the plans, and says she needs to talk to Raddus, that guy tells her that Admiral Raddus has already left, has already unilaterally decided to take the fleet and fight. If Raddus hadn't taken that initiative, the mission would have failed.

    You have to watch Andor!
It's the prequel series that shows Cassian's story, and gives you a real look at the internal workings of the Empire as well as the beginnings of the Rebellion.
It's a slow beginning, but it's not wasted time, in any way. It's all set up and building relationships to get you ready for where it's headed. And just like Rogue One succeeded in being an ACTUAL war movie in the Star Wars universe, Andor is a successful drama series about that struggle.

To this day, Rogue One is easily the best Star Wars movie Disney has ever made and the ending with Darth Vader is top-notch.
Also, the fun thing about that end is that it leads straight into "A New Hope". That means Darth Vader chased them down from Skariff and when he caught them, Princess Leia was barefaced "what plans?" to his face. The balls on that princess!

Saying its the best Disney star wars movie is not saying much because of how bad they all were and the Vader at the end is a slap in the face of older Star Wars fans and Lucas. More machine now than man, all of the old canon made him barely able to move because the suit was so heavy and his robotic limbs...and it undoes the opening of the original movie where the plans location was in question and the accusation was they "intercepted a transmission" of the plans.

I lost my shit in theaters when Vader showed up at the end. It went from an action-sci-fi war film to a straight up horror movie in the blink of an eye and we finally got Darth Vader at his peak. No mercy, the living embodiment of fear, just a walking god of death and destruction like something out of an H.P. Lovecraft story. Even thought like a minute long, that was EVERYTHING I ever wanted to see from Darth Vader on the big screen. I was in awe and terrified of him at the same time.

"The rumbling overwhelmed all other sound. Jyn tightened her grip on Cassian, and he found the strength to hold her. The world grew brighter, emerald at first and then a clean, purifying white. In Jyn’s mind, the cave below the broken hatch was illuminated with the strength of a sun, and then the walls turned to dust and there was no longer a cave but only her spirit and heart and everything she
had ever been: the daughter of Galen and Lyra and Saw, the angry fighter and the shattered prisoner and the champion and the friend.
Soon all those things, too, burned away, and Jyn Erso-finally at peace-became one with the Force." - from the novelization of the movie. Always gets me choked up.

The relationship w Chirrut and Baze is common in Asian culture and many other cultures of "brothers in arms". They grew up and trained and fought together. They both came up as Guardians of the Whills, like monks in a monastery. When the Empire took over the city, killed innocent people and pillaged the kyber crystals, it was like taking the most sacred things in Jedha. Chirrut continued to believe in the force and Guardians, Baze essentially "lost his faith and religion". Chirrut even says "You were once the most devoted guardian of us all!"
    Baze became embattled and bitter.
So at the end when Chirrut says "I am one with the Force, the Force is with me", Baze replies with "The Force IS with we, and I am one with the Force". It's like at the end, he found his faith again and wanted to be with his brother in the afterlife. Symbolisms :)

Dead stays dead. No ridiculous longing look, longing kiss and vow of eternal love that had nothing to do with the film but with audience groups. No cinema for 3 year old's. All beloved characters are wiped out. This is war as it really happens and where there is no fraudulent happy ending. An absolutely successful film with excellent actors.

Now watch ANDOR - it's a prequel to Rogue One and stars Cassian Andor (the same guy who died for the cause in Rogue One and is his story about how he came to join the Rebellion).... it was created by the same team who did Rogue One and is arguable the best Start Wars TV show created to-date. You will love it... it makes Star Wars feel believable and have soul. (Obi-One, Acolyte feel like cheap kiddy movies which, to be fair, they were probably aiming at a younger more care free audience) - but ANDOR is Star Wars how you wish it would be, with characters and emotion and you feel invested.

I recommend Andor, the prequel show to this prequel movie, as well. Its first and so far only season is probably the best written and acted piece of Star Wars media. It is structured in multiple story arcs, so its watched best in 3-4 episodes at a time. Season 2 will release next year.

Ash, the Andor series was written by Tony Gilroy. He was the screenplay writer for ROUGE ONE. ✌️

33:24 notice in all the other Star Wars films you hear the fighters call signs as Rogue Leader, rouge 2 and so on…like in sports when a great player dies and they retire the number

You guys should definitely watch Andor and the Mandalorian s1-2 great seasons of television everything else including obi wan is such a let down not only to Star Wars but to entertainment in general. I would run a poll on RUclips to see what people think about it though!

46:27I like the fact that when she plays the transparent drum set it actually makes a sound.
