I love that we’re finally breaking free of our lenses we’ve had in the past. We’re finally recognizing indigenous cultures and their lessons. It’s all apart of decolonization of the mind. It’s so pretty. It all just boils down to love in the most simplest forms.

What really got me was the love and support they demonstrated for each other, as well as the communal support, honor, and recognition of their relationship and impact on the well being of the community! Well done!
So does aikāne mean *more* than just a best friend? I'm trying to understand how deep this bond and relationships went. Shout out to the Hawaiian people involved in making this.
Drama, romance, fantasy, action... This was beautifully animated, conceptualized and realized. Also shout out to Judith Light as an Exec-producer on this for continuing to be the awesome ally she's always been, and especially to "Them" for showing us amazing cinematic content like this. I hope they continue to put a spotlight on quality animated and live action short films we probably wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. PLEASE keep this trend going.

So beautiful. And octopus is one of my favorite animals. The ending brought me to tears
I really like this film and these intimate friendships. I've met the same type of relationship a couple of times in world literature, and I've always admired it very much. I think such relationships affect the higher matters of human souls.
I was also pleased that the natives, warrior's tribesmans, accepted their relationship, and that the main characters chose to live together in the ocean... It shows how people can live in harmony with their soul, beliefs and nature world.

This was a very moving short film. It made me mourn for the colonialization of diversity of bonds, love and relationships that many indigenous groups had.
This was beautiful and a refreshing slice of life. I’ve been feeling depressed about finding love someday. This gave me hope for the future and my special person. I enjoyed the spiritual tone of this as well.
When the both of them were swimming together and they both transformed into octupuses my heart melted omg this is so beautiful
The video reminds me of 1995 animated short Achilles, but instead of a sad ending, we get a happy ending.

Beautiful and you know what? they both found something that is very hard for many of us to remember. Love. Love of ones self and other, they don't have a cellphone to look at, only their eyes which communicate so much more, it's hard for me to write how this simple animation made me feel, so i'll leave it at that.
