Let me know what you guys think! Should they do a Cuda or what?
I wonder if anyone would buy one. I'm not sure if it would make sense from a business standpoint
Yes Cuda Edition Wide Body 850 hp 😁
Make a video showing Maserati engineers designed the Dodge Charger/Challenger from the Maserati Quattroporte/Ghibli six figure luxury sedan platforms which are shared with the Chrysler 300 as well. They are made on the same assembly line in the same factory with the same ZF-8 speed transmission, Platform, body panels, armrests, touchscreen, infotainment, buttons, switches, and materials found on the SRT and optional on RT models. Go sit in one like I have many times and you’ll see people pay six figures for a $30,000 Dodge charger with a few nicer touches and Maserati is not only more luxurious but also cost more than BMW, Mercedes, Audi.
The main difference is Maserati has a 3.0T hand built by Ferrari which is not even as fast as the 6.4L Small Block HEMI V8 which costs a third of the price for the same vehicle with a dodge badge.
@@chadhanson4369 wait what?
Noooooo.......
I've ranted about this before. They should not be using names from a dead brand. They wasted the Demon name. That could have been on some other badass ride. Instead, that name is basically an option on a challenger. There are still names from. The dodge muscle car pool that can be used. Coronet is still out there. Better yet, go in a different direction with the sheet metal and come up with a new name.
I wish Plymouth was still around so they could remake The Roadrunner and Cuda but it's fine tho.
It would be really cool seeing how they would have revived their past Muscle
That's what I've want to see them come out with for years, a Roadrunner with a big touch of the old Roadrunner look!
Chrysler still owns the plymouth name.... is there a law that says they can't just bring back a plymouth cuda or Roadrunner? do they have to have a certain number of models to use the brand? don't think so...the Ram is a off shoot of dodge ... and only one model....
I could see the Roadrunner being a 2 door offshoot of the Charger with the side scoops and a unique front fascia. Cuda could be a special edition Challenger, again with a new front fascia and side gills.
I hear the saint JHN lol. Hopefully we get a few more decades of muscle cars before the electric cars takeover
If they kept the old body style yes would be badass to bring it back
it really would be so damn cool!
A modern Cuda would be great, however i feel like the Cuda would be designed to fight on the Mustang and Camaro’s as a competitor for a Pony/Sports car, instead of pure Muscle.
I agree the Cuba platform will no longer be off of the existing Challenger and would be much smaller to remove weight.
What if they made it an import killer? Take sales away from the 350z's etc.
R/T Life in order to do that, they would have to put a Mopar on a diet/have a lighter engine (possibly a V6 with turbos). Similar to the basis of the NEON
Great video !!!! You got my attention!!!!! Thanks for sharing.
As someone who owned a ‘69 Roadrunner in ‘69, I always liked the Plymouth brand. For them to bring back the Cuda, it seems the Plymouth division would have to be resurrected. One thing is for sure, Mopars seem to dominating the muscle car market lately. SRT8’s are quite the adrenaline rush.
I like to believe that they're actually going to build that .
I wouldn't mind it if they kept the old body style like a special edition thing. But the body styles they have that you showed look tacky an to around.
it is very bubbly / beefy - I think a special edition would be the easiest way for them to get a Cuda out there
3800lbs
A10
550 hp
If the specs are like that for the cuda it would sell like crazy just my opinion
I think you're right about that.
R/T life is the dodge srt cuda weight 3800lbs a10 transmission with 550hp
Agreed
A twin turbo option would be fun too
Yes, a hemi Cuda with the 426, but keep the old body style
I couldnt agree more.Well said !!!!!
The cuda in the thumbnail looks like a bloated challenger thats thicker in the back with a smiling grin
hahaha - def a beefy ride
Agreed. It looks more like a Camero
That shit looks heavy as hell. Almost like a boat with tires on it.
I think if they brought back the Cuda the roadrunner and kept the Challenger and Charger it would give more of an option not everybody has your same Challenger body kit The Limited customization is expensive if they just had more different body styles in different cars they would be a great Market at least to me I don't know the Challenger and Charger but it's a very common car
They should market it as the Hemi Cuda under chrysler without chrysler badging tho
😒 spewing
I was leaving another comment when I thought about it. To be a Cuda the engine had to be 383 CID or bigger. That being said they could go for to trim levels when would be the Barracuda AAR with the 345 (originally 340 w/six-pack) and the 'Cuda with a 392. That's two trims or badges for one body, they could take the Barracuda all the way down to a six if they want. That would add more trim levels.
A Chrystler Cuda would be interesting, they already compete 300 vs Charger.
I think a Chrysler Cuda makes more sense - would give the Chrysler brand some much needed attention
I dont consider the 300 and Charger as competition. They’re essentially the same car, but the only reason why the 300 is still around is to keep the Pacifica company in the Chrysler lineup.
300 annoys my soul
The 300s biggest engine option is the 5.7. Because of this I don’t think there much competition. You chose class or raw power.
Rocco Pellegrini that’s not true the 300 has an srt version
Love the intro!
I could possibly see them doing an in-line 6 turbocharged cuda. 2 door and slightly smaller to cut several hundred pound off of it.
They are leaders in the industry. No Limits.
Love the blast to the past at the end.
Great Vid.
Can't believe I missed this comment! 100% agree - lighten up that Cuda & let the Hemi rip
NO! The Cuda was a Plymouth and that's were it should remain.
@Lord Chanka All conditions are crazy expensive. Convertibles are at least 100k for a driveable nice car not restored just nice and drivable. Nuts
I can't agree more. It's always been Plymouth not Dodge. If you want the Cuda back, bring back Plymouth!!!
What's Chrysler doing these days! They can help build it the best but Dodge in all likely hood will be awarded the name "Cuda."
Intro was sickkk🔥🔥
That Cuda rendering in the thumbnail looks like something off those Cars Pixar movies 🤣🤣.
GSS has been making kits for years to make a 'Cuda replica.
Yeah i think the only way a Cuda would happen is as a Challenger special edition.
Yep. Throw a Road Runner in there as well!!!!
I see you mention the thing about the dart. But maybe a limited edition would be worth it.
Yah I think the limited edition would make it a really nice option
A great looking car it would definitely help the brand out! Nice looking concept designs,a nice veiw thank's!🙂✌
Yah we will see how it plays out! Def a fun topic to hit on
Good alternative for the cuda is what the dart was sapost to be a light weight twin turbo sporty muscle car RWD
yah they really missed the boat with the Dart. That should have built off the success of the SRT-4
Motor Trend Magazine did a article about the Cuda' back in 2013 that was very interesting , look that up and see 💯🤔👍 , they also have a great story /article about the Viper as well 💯 😀🏁 Great video brother , I would love to see the Cuda' back myself with a little engine like in the drag pack so to speak for weight purposes track purposes to compete on the track like with the Mustang, Vetted , Camaros etc. Awesome video brother , 💯🤔🤔💪🏁🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Chrysler Cuda we want vs the crossover they’ll give us 😞
I think Chrysler should try something with the Cuda name
How about a mid-engine Cuda! Wouldn’t that be something?
Damn that really nice big time it took my eye from me damn I can't but the h2 Humma is coming back out I didn't know that 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😛😛😛😛😛
I hope and pray Dodge builds it , even on a limited run . And if they do I hope they don’t make it a SUV like Ford did with the Mustang Mache E . Cheers
Yah I think a limited run would make it super rare & desirable. Dodge would never do that - Ford doesn't make the best decisions.
my first car was a 1964 cuda, loved it. me and my dog! i'm all in on seeing it come back.
I think most are on the same page
tuned down hellaphant that passes emissions plus smaller cuda would annihilate gt500, zl1, & hellcat red-eyes..
But will it turn?
I would like what donut media suggested: the cuda can be a minimalist challenger like it was originally. None of the luxury stuff like a/c, infotainment/speakers, backup cameras/sensors, all of that kind of stuff while retaining the required safety stuff like airbags. It would make it much more obtainable while still having a powerful engine like the hemi.
It could be offered as an appearance package. There are already after mkt cuda grills for the challenger.
I see something of Plymouth I click. (I know it’s not gonna be under Plymouth, just like Plymouth slightly more cause my Dad use to have a Duster)
Edit: The Cuda was an more cheaper option than the Challenger back in the 70’s, I think it will be the 2nd V6 muscle Car, the 1st being the Buick. Also could be a proper AWD Muscle Car that the GT Couldn’t be. But we will have to see the future.
Would be interesting to see what FCA does if they decide to give the Cuda a go
They already have the 5.7 300 awd and they had the 5.7 awd charger but no one bought it
Jeep Joseph I never hold of those models, not saying your wrong though, I was think this could be a SRT 6 with a turbo on the 3.6 Pentastar, and could be AWD, and lighter, I’m thinking about 400-450 HP, tell me what you think.
@@tregaming07 it would create competition for the rt and the scat pack. At that point now I think they would just add a few things to the 3.6 like the gt and call it a day. In a few years though the 5.7 was supposed to be replaced by a pentestar
The more RWD coupes the merrier. However Stellantis Cuda just doesn't sound right. ;)
I hear you man
I totally agree with you, if they bring it back it would not be the car we all know. The car market is tighter than ever and it would be a bad move to make it along side the challenger. I feel that we are on the edge of big changes and Dodge is the only ones really stand up for fun horsepower cars. Electric cars and fuel efficiency is taking over the market. Awesome video and topic 😁
Couple Of Them Pics Would Work !!!! If Viper Is Done, WELL !!! Replace, & Not Only Make It With Redeye, / Viper Power, Make Got Obviously Forward, Can Take Corners !!! Original Cuda Was 3 Inches Shorter On Same Chassie As Challenger ....Stay Strong....Peace
I would love to see the Cuda!!!
I saw a prototype sold at Barrett Jackson some years ago resembling the 1970 cuda. I believe Ron Pratt bought it. Was it a custom build? What happened to it?
FCA should financialy do a cuda package for challenger but it would be SOOO cool if they put acr and srt tech together to make a track monster with dodge's most powerful supercharged V8
I think that is the best bet to have a Cuda inserted into the line up. You never know
I don’t see why they can’t do a run of cudas under the Plymouth name. I dont think it would hurt Chrysler to make a smaller throwback car, other companies like Chevy make a half dozen different suvs that are minimally different. It’s what people are looking for, since fca doesn’t have a smaller kind of track car it turns people to go buy one of the competitors more compact versions.
Charger must be return like the Hellephant and the Cuda is the Letty’s car ( Toretto ‘s wife ) and the Charger the old style like Toretto , General Lee are Iconic and deserve comeback with the old style and a few upgrades on the way old school .
Make Plymouth a brand for the Cuda. There Done Deal. They made RAM a brand for trucks so lets have the CUDA back as a PLYMOUTH :*: Greetings from🎱Florida🤳my friend🤓🗣🔊☮✌👍🏾
It time for the Challenger to take a break. Even tho it's a affordable 2 door sports car. Charger can stay because it's a 4 sedan with HP. Let the cuda run the show to keep customers interested and produce demon widebodys for speed geeks
I kinda like the idea that it could take the place of the avenger or crossfire. A two seater canyon carver that can still manage to house all the challengers options of power plants. Or at the very least have plenty of turbo options.
I was a teen at the times of the muscle cars... and to me they were just another car off the line... a dime a dozen ... now I wish I could get my old 72 belvedere back....
Maybe it should take styling from the dart? A little rounder than the challenger few inches shorter in length. Weight reduction. I don't think the challenger would go away.
yah I would image it having to be very different from the Challenger to be successful or not hurt the Challenger sales.
It would be nice if Dodge comes out with the Cuda, that can compete with the ZL1 and the GT500, but I don't think sales for a track car will do well in Dodge lineup. Dodge customers wants straight line performance. Maybe it's the reason why Dodge Viper is no longer in existence.
yah you're right about the majority wanting that straight line performance.
Red eye keeps up with those two honestly no reason for it
What is it with the new Charger diffusers? They don't look like a diffuser at all. I ask the same question at the local Dodge dealers and they didn't have a reply.
2 best years for me. 1968 fastback and the 1971!
I really like those fastbacks
@@RTLife the 68 with that street HEMI and the 71 was the only year it came with that grill
I for one hope they do not replace the Challenger with a Cuda. i do love em equally tho.
I don't think they will - doesn't really make sense at this point.
I always preferred the Cuda over the Challenger.
I’m a sucker for a grand national.
Why they don’t make the Cuda an option package for the Challenger is beyond me. Seems to be an easy way to bring it back and not lose market share.
that's what I'm basically saying - make it a special heritage package on the challenger. Makes sense
R/T Life definitely can’t hurt. Hell they may end up killing sales with it.
They can still spotlight the Plymouth brand since I do believe it is still licensed within FCA, and I don’t think it would hurt FCA one bit to do a Plymouth Cuda as that is the original and the only way to bring back the Hemi Cuda...
It would be limited production and it would pay for bringing back the nameplate for a one off Cuda...
Keeping history alive an accurate is a must when resurrecting such a creation...
In fact then they could bring out the sidewinder and the copperhead underneath the Plymouth lineup and make it all about production horsepower at a price...$$
I have a 66 Barracuda. I would buy that New ONE...LOVE the look...low an wide...
They could do this right now based on the Giulia platform. Much smaller and lighter with a turbo v6. Probably wouldn't satisfy hemi purists, but they could make it a road course monster to compete with Stang's and Camaros, while Leaving the drag strip for the challys and chargers.
Very true - maybe it would take some sales away from the imports! G35's etc.
James Pumphrey brought this idea to light
FCA could just release a Cuda grill and rear facia kit with lights and everything included so Challenger owners can convert what they already have. 🤷🏾♂️ It won't take the company that far out of the way and if they could market it around the 3k mark I'll bet that would sell like candy.
Honestly I’m waiting on the cuda....hopefully I don’t need a new car within the next 2-3 years.
I think if they can figure out a way to get one in the line up many would love it.
R/T Life I agree...my grandfather had one, it would be super cool if I got a modern day version of it.
I think dodge should make it as a heritage car. Use the challenger body and change it to a cuda grille and add the cuda taillights and the cuda gills. Then they should offer a different engine option in it like a completely redesign of the pen Star v6 and make it a twin turbo v6 and they should also offer the hellaphant crate. That would be awesome!!! Sadly though the hellaphant crate is very unlikely to make it into dodges production lineup but I’ll keep on dreaming lol.
Since Cuda was a Plymouth and there is no more Plymouth I don’t think they will do it ? But saying that Dodge could surprise us ? A Cuda would be cool. Like you said make it small like a Dart.. Fun video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Imagine making the cuda a base platform that you can upgrade throughout time. just make the car user-friendly module and give the owner the power to either do it themselves within 10 minutes or go to a certified tech to do the upgrade for you if you are not comfortable. Every upgrade will be Dodge certified and comes with instructions videos, the idea is to make it stupid dumb easy to upgrade your on cuda to your liking throughout time.
The Cuda would be a top tier car!! I couldn't imagine the Cuda to be considered among the lower ranks. That just seems to be the trend when you considered the what I call the elitest trend in this hobby nowadays. The challener could still be the lower option for most of everyone else. I could consider it taking the place the Demon had. Maybe even with the Helaphant engine with the option of a power adder. Although the Cuda is originally Plymouth. The name alone would be a price increase over all others. If that day came I would signal the end of the Hemi muscle being near. Going out with a BANG!
It needs to be an og barracuda that goes for weight saving with a massive engine. 67-69. The barracuda became the challengers counterpart. The valiant platform days were much cooler. I do love a good 70 ‘cuda though.
My 1st car was a 67 Barracuda and to this day that car had style and class :) The back seat folded down as well as the trunk and then ya had a bed with a Awesome glass window looking up at the stars !! So why not make that version today and better with Tech ?!! You could go racing and then head off to go camping for the weekend :) Flare the fenders to give it a Porsche feeling/look and a few other things and you would have a Awesome Monster of a car :) But that's just my thought ! lol :) Peace
Bring the Cuda back as a special edition of the Challenger. Just like the Super Stock or Demon version. The CC(Challenger Cuda!) version. Their most powerful engine with Demon suspension, lighter weight, or with a track setup like the Viper.
I think at a minimum, there should be some sort of package, like "homage series" or whatever
What I think would be cool and there best financial option would be for them to do something like the trans am people are doing with Camaro’s. Have srt do it so it stays in house and would be cheaper. All they would need to do is send a blank challenger Chassis to srt have them shorten it, then build it out just as a challenger with a body kit. Then they could just drop a hemi in and be good. No waisted parts like the trans am people have. Just a different car built in limited numbers by people who are good at what they do.
Was.there any difference between challenger and cuda other than cosmetic?
shorter wheel base.
Love it
would make for a nice edition
Great intro
Thanks man - def appreciate it
You have come light-years with your channel congrats on the continued great content and production
@R/T Life, thank you for this video. Much appreciation.
The '70 and '71 E Body Dodge Challenger is the basis of the various 2008 to 2021 Dodge Challenger models.
The '70 an '71 E Body Plymouth Barracuda should not be the basis of a future Barracuda variant.
It is foolish to have two very similar cars in the same lineup.
Here is my suggestion. The '69 A Body, Fastback Barracuda should become the basis for the 2022 Chrysler Cuda.
Note - the '69 Cuda is one of Chrysler's best looking, best selling, best performing cars.
I like the idea of a Cuda but I also would not like to steal the market from the Challenger. Perhaps they can avoid that if they use a smaller, lighter chassis with a smaller, turbo motor or something. Now that I type that out it sounds like I described a Dart/Neon SRT 4 but I think it should be leaning muscle rather than tuner.
If it doesnt resemble 95% of the original Cuda in looks, size and weight, don't bother.
Picking up my first challenger anyday now and looks like if either car comes out im trading already hehe. Dodge knows how to keep their customers. Give then just enough to keep them coming back.

Boy If I was loaded I'd have all these beautiful gorgeous machines! Hemi Life! Next year I'm buying my SRT. will it be the SRT Durango or the SRT Grand Cherokee? Hmmmmm😍🤔
hahah I hear you on that! We all need to hit the lotto
BTW can't go wrong with either of those SRT's
I'm having too much fun with the 5.7 lol. Especially this fall whipple supercharger purchase, install and tune. Or just save up for the SRT.
The way the "SRT Cuda" grins devilishly is how my face is whenever I stray into "that" side of the internet
build one like the rendering and I would swap my 2016 ssv redline for it
Chrysler still owns the Plymouth brand name, so it's not beyond the realm of possibility for them to offer the Barracuda as a special edition under the Plymouth badge; and to sell it at either Chrysler, it Dodge dealers.
The Charger and Challenger enthusiasts won't suddenly ditch their enthusiasm for a one-off special edition offering. It's far more likely that some would simply add the 'Cuda to their collection, while other muscle car enthusiasts would try to get one for themselves.
MOPAR gearheads are different! We respect all muscle cars, but our priorities run MOPAR deep. 😋
Im thinking a trim level on challenger would be nice
I think that is the most realistic option for Dodge
Build it, make it super cheap(realistic), super bone stock, no creature comforts, just safety features, rough original body, and can only come with a 5.7. I think this will make people even more creative
P.s with skinny wheels and drums breaks 😆
The CEO of dodge is not going to put a Plymouth name on a dodge car hes to old school especially when the cuda and challenger were basically the same car dodge should bring back a old school muscle car that is an identical match of the classic just resto modded with interior head lights srt8 motor suspension that would be awesome
I would love to see the Cuda rip up the streets again! Gotta admit, it kinda liiked like the Disney Pixar character Snot Rod! 🤣
I wanna see the Cuba come back especially if they get rid of the challenger. But not like any of those renderings. It should have the tuck wheels covered up like the red 383. That would be bad ass from factory.
Make it a damn convertible
That would be a bad ass car.
Back in the 60s Plymouth, mercury, buick was the muscle car brands to get. Dodge should make a small division along srt named Plymouth or AAR and bring back roadrunner, magnum, Cuda. Lightweight 392 ci car
Yes bring on the new Cuda
Hey RT how are you. My Friend. You want to make a track car. Make the Dart with the hellcat in it . It would be a 5 second car .
They've been saying this since the last Cuda rolled off the line. But then again we all thought that same thing back in 1973. We thought the last true Muscle Cars and the High Powered Hemi died. Hell I still thought they were dead and quit paying attention even when the 4 door Charger came back out . Who knows what those wild Dude at Dodge will do, all I know is they never fail to move mark.
Dodge should bring back the coronet R/T wouldn't that be something!
That would be really awesome - you never know!
@@davidhubbard7573 exactly it should have its own platform
@@RTLife I'm willing to gamble on it haha
@@davidhubbard7573 yes sir!!! And its only hemi equipped
Well R/T Life. This is what I think. I think that Chrysler should do a limited production of the Cuda, as you have stated. But why not do a 2 door Charger as well, of course on a limited run. Boy wouldn't that be cool. Shoot I am still waiting for Dodge to get into Nascar. Which I don't think that will happen, but you never know. Thanks for the video, very informative.
I would like to see a 2021 Chrysler Cuda, which is a retro version of the '69 Cuda, Fastback.
It is not logical nor reasonable to have an E Body based Challenger, AND an E Body based Cuda, in the FCA vehicle line up.
Another choice, sell a 2020 retro version of the '69 Roadrunner (B Body).
I agree with you it should replace the viper
The Cuda is a muscle car it isnt a super car. It needs to stay a muscle car. I could see that they will kill the challenger eventually like they said they would do. But later down the road maybe we could see a cuda?
Very true. Unfortunately there isn't enough of a market for it as a V8 muscle car. At least with the Challenger around.
Truth be told Chrysler should go ahead and release the SRT Hemi Cuda honestly idk what they’re waiting for
If they have a universal chassis it would help. Gotta be smaller though
Your right, there's no way it's going to happen. The Challenger is there top dog since they discontinued the Viper. I think they reserved the copy rights so that none of the tuner companies can't take a Challenger and concert it to a Cuda. I could be wrong but that's most likely what they're doing, kind of like the movie company did with the Eleanor name. Too many companies were building an Eleanor versions.
