  • Our 2005 Lexus ES330 started marking some grinding and squawking noises from under the hood. After troubleshooting in a previous video we found the waterpump pulley had backed out off the pump and was grinding on a bracket. This video covers replacing the water pump and the timing belt along with all pulleys and tensioner for the timing belt.

I appreciate that. I’m glad I could help. 50K miles is about the max you want to chance with a timing belt so if you’re getting close to that then it’s a good time to do it. Thank you again!

Definitely makes you appreciate the longitudinal layout much more. I think we found a new name and license plate for the Lexus. Bug Slayer / BUGSLYR. We drove from Washington to Michigan back in 2020, and we still have splattered bugs that we can't remove using a pressure washer.

The fact that our front bumper, at some point before my wife got it, had some bumper work done on it and doesn’t have much for clear coat or protection in it anymore. So the Oklahoma pest stick really nicely and, like you said.. don’t like to come off.

Here’s the link to the kit I bought. Just remember I ended up buying the gates belt separate because it had the timing marks on it.

This was a horrible video with zero instruction on what to do / tools needed, unless you’re mechanically inclined.
