Ogre’s Speed Shop
Добавлен 20 окт 2011
Just a guy tooling around in his garage!! I’m a Navy veteran. I served for 20 years and retired in 2015. I worked at a hot rod shop specializing in classic American muscle cars for about 8 years after I retired. We decided (my wife and I) that we needed a change in our lives to be healthier in our lives and relationship. So we sold our house in San Diego and moved east to Oklahoma. I started this channel a few years ago and did a couple videos on my 66 Dodge Dart. Didn’t do much more than that until I moved to Oklahoma and decided to share my adventures in the shop and around my homestead. My 1969 Firebird is one of the main characters on my channel but I do a lot of other projects as well. Hope you enjoy what you see and continue to watch what I put out!! Thank you for your support and I appreciate you all for choosing to watch my videos!

1970 GMC 2500 Bumper Repair Turns into So Much More. But All good and Needed!
I started the Video on the 1970 GMC 2500 intending to try to fix and straighten the front bumper. Boy did I open a can of worms on this one. However, it’s all going to be worth the effort in the end. Join me in the newest video in my weekly “GMC Sunday”

1970 GMC 2500 Fender Replacement? More of a Repair in the End!
Просмотров 23716 часов назад
This video started out being a fender replacement. However, it got way more involved and turned into repairing using parts of both fenders. It actually turned out better since I was able to utilize the original fender more than the donor fender. So come along for the journey to a better, not perfect by any means, fender on the 1970 GMC C2500! #truck #c2500 # #gmc #chevy #truck #repair #fender #...

The difference is which one is OSHA more likely to certify
Have the same car and came across the channel a couple of times. I feel sorry that you are selling it, which also means no more awesome videos of you working on this car. Salute.
Need insulation, that metal wall is also the outer wall..
Yeah, it’s something I still need to do.
Get ya a wood burning stove and get in shape splitting wood pops. 😉

🔥🔥🔥🔥
How did you torque the crankshaft pulley without turning engine over? Did you have a torque spec?
I wedged a pry bar into the flexplate and torqued to 180ft lbs.
hahaha I’ve been there, I took one of my knuckles straight down to the bone in about a tenth of a second with a 60 grit flap disc, 3 years later the scar hasn’t faded at all
That's not even a lot of rust.
Those 3.3 engines are a beast…. change the oil regularly and the timing belt every 90,000 miles they will last forever….. Scotty Kilmer said that he seen these 3.3 motors with 300,000 miles and still had the original timing belt
Keep on doing what you're doing. It's looking good. Good call on the leaf springs. The springs might look cheap if they're too glossy. Also, I would think that the cracks and chips in the paint (caused by the springs flexing) might stand out more. So, satin seems like the better choice, to me anyway. Sorry for rambling.

I like the El camino
That is a nice one!
I hate those moments when you find the things that cost you money you didn't budget in a build. But at least when it's done, you know it safe and right
There is absolutely nothing wrong getting a good aftermarket replacement.
I have to do same to the 68, should i cut 2 or 3 relief cuts on the radius...Im so afraid to chip perfect paint.... I will warm the paint before, but do you think a few reliefs will help the lip roll
I didn’t do relief cuts. You have to be a lot more careful than I was being to not chip good paint. I don’t have nice paint, even now, so just take it slow and heating it should help.
Thanks OG for doing these videos...... I know it was a few years ago but I wish I was there to help, learn and be cold with ya..... Great work man!!!!... Seriously great work!.... I have a 68 and all parts to do the job, tubs, short rear 4 link etc and I am still like... Do I really attempt this
I just bought a loaded Knuckle,,, comes with new bearings and hub already set,, new backing plate, and it's pretty easy to install. no sketchy. 06 es330
I'd say you got your money's worth out of that !
one of the worst how to videos I have ever started to watch.
@@leeshamblee3321 👍
Thanks
Just got one and I think it's a good headlamp...
I’ve got three of them now. I bought two in San Diego for doing some work under my house, and I bought another one when I moved to Oklahoma and was 20+ miles from the house and needed a light to fix a ceiling fan for my wife at work. I bought the third one to do that job and I use them all the time.
I think you should paint it red as a tribute to your dad and his truck! Great content 👌
Well I'm impressed ! Looking great and it isn't even finished ! That's one of those jobs that only you will know what went into it. Anyone else will just see a fender in good shape. I think it looks good with the patina paint job.
😀😀💪💪💪💪👍👍👍

As it always seemed I always had more time than money. I'm a pro at polishing turds!! Ha! Always good to see Shop Duck !!
The duck seems to approve!!
Ha ha ha Love the pet Duck.
He is quite the character for sure. He thinks he’s in charge around here.. and maybe he is… lol
Im going to do mine today on my 2001 firebird 3.8 with the same codes. It's really hard to find videos of people that call out the bolt sizes so that I don't have to mess with it when I'm down there and I can know ahead of time. Great video, thank you.
I appreciate you letting me know it helped. Thank you!
Worked underneath a 70s truck one time. Will never do it again.
Did you have to put water in the pump before you pumped the water out
I didn’t have to put water in the pump.
powder black it
It's natural CPC (Corrosion Preventative Compound)
These are your lungs... These are your lungs after 50 years of cigarette smoke...
Thats alot of history in that dirt
Hook the pancake compressor to the portable yellow tank (in series) and then out from the yellow tank to the tool.
I hope you painted it. Maybe black as some of the truck is black. That red, uhhh.......
Well, sorry to disappoint, but it’s been almost a year and half and I still haven’t painted it. The red kinda grew on me and I left it alone.
What a nightmare
Merry Christmas, Ogre and Mrs Ogre.
Merry Christmas to you too
I like the gloss over the flat but satin is my go to.
Gloss 👌
I like the gloss but it might make it harder for you to see the grease on it if that ever happens
Gloss. Flat looks too much like the all too common DIY rattle can job.
I like the gloss but is there a difference in the protection between the two? Is one better than the other.
The flat is a “rust reformer” it acts like an etching primer and also converts rust. The gloss is a primer, paint combo and I think with the combination of the two types it’ll be pretty solid. Only time will tell.
@ well, prime it with the flat and finish it with the gloss. The gloss does look good. Thanks for your response boss.
