Fernando Reis, +105kg lifter for Brazil doing his heaviest training hall workouts while 6 and 5 days out from competition at the 2017 World Championships. Some notes:

-In the first day's (6 days out) workout, he snatched up to a 180kg double (6:46). He also C&Jed 200 (8:18) and front squatted up to 245kg (9:28).
-In the second day's (5 days out) workout he snatched up to 190kg (13:25), C&Jed up to 230kg (18:32), and clean pulled up to 270kg (22:08).
-He went on to do 200/240 in the event, setting a Pan American snatch record at 200kg ( • Fernando Reis 200kg Sn... ), which broke his previous 198kg record.
-His lifetime PR is 201kg in Snatch ( • Fernando Reis 200kg Sn... ) and 242kg in Clean and Jerk ( / bf9rpkxab8l )

Where is he from originally? People talk to him in Spanish not Portuguese

He is Brazilian but he speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish. So if someone is a native Spanish speaker then they’ll talk to him in Spanish.

so weight belt. Why does he even bother? THe point of a belt is to breath into the belt to help keep your core tight like a full soda can. He has a gut like mine so it makes no sense why he wears it so low. Any feed back on this? 3 years in and still learning new stuff about oly lifting.
