    Soler has been the kind of rider who can easily annoy half the peloton. He plays games, doesn´t ride well with others, attacks after missing turns pretending he can't colaborate with the break, and he just does it over and over again.
    He maybe provides some entertainment for the fans, but I'm sure he doesn´t make too many friends in the peloton riding like that.

    2015 Peter Sagan was full of disappointments and crashed out of Vuelta that year. Everyone thought that's it until after a couple of weeks he won the Rainbow jersey at Richmond. And that started a chain of successful wins while wearing the rainbow jersey for the next 3 years. Is this going to be the start of the peak of WVA's career??
    Well, until MVDP is there, I dont think so 😂😅

      I hope it is. But I've always though of Sagan as a particular animal with regards to his setbacks at that time. He seemed to have as many self inflicted problems as crashes.
      I like WvA. I hope he bounces back. This year is such a tough year for him (after a pretty good year last year....)

    I think that for a cyclocross rider, Wout simply crashes too often. I've often wondered why and I think that sometimes he's not concentrating enough. He's a very good technician and knows that the road is no challenge for him. He's more concentrated off-road. And on the road he's not challenged enough and then, in comparison, he's unfortunately too unconcentrated - that's my opinion!

      With how he looked in the other breakaways and how much energy he's already spent this race, I didn't think he had the form. Makes you realize how much goes into racing and pacing yourself like this for three weeks straight. I had hoped for a little more from Yates and Vine this race tbh

    Do these races have any responsibility to keep the roads clean? Around that really nasty crash you can see leaves and dirt/mud on the tarmac. Seems like it would be a good idea to run a street sweeper through the course ahead of time for the safety of the riders. Hope Wout can make a speedy recovery!

    Once again I come to you to blame overpowered disk brakes. Heal well, Wout.

    • @rlm4471

      Sadly, I think you're right. The brakes give you a lot of confidence descending in dry conditions, but then when it's wet they grab too hard and down you go. I've had it happen to me. Unfortunately, going back to rim brakes isn't the answer, because they can heat up and destroy a carbon rim on a long descent.

      @@rlm4471 make better carbon wheels. Use aluminium rims with carbon inserts. There are plenty of solutions for this "problem". The bike industry just gave up on improving technology for rim brakes. 2 years ago Pogacar was still alternating between disc and rim brake in TDF stages.

      @@rlm4471 aluminium rims?

    • @sgameirojr
      @sgameirojr 11 дней назад +1

      @@ManWalksDogs exactly. Shimano's carbons rims were alum brake surfaces with carbon bonded fins for aero. The bike industry just abandoned tech advancements in rim brake for the fancy (and expensive) alternative. Nonetheless, Pogacar was still alternating between rim and disc on TdF 2 years ago. Good thing we still have the Chinese. There are plenty of reviews here on YT showing that Winspace Hyper's braking performance is outstanding in any environment and replacement cost is comparable to replacement costs of rotosr and pads for the same timeframe.

      @sgameirojr Bonding carbon and aluminum is not a viable approach, because they have different rates of thermal expansion, so the carbon tends to crack.
