I appreciate your channel especially the honesty. I remove my old ratty nails one day and do the dip the next day. I put myself in a chill mindset, relaxing into the process as much as possible, not being so impatient. It is not in my nature to go slow. The thing about the nails getting stuck in the hair is So flipping annoying so I will follow your advice. Thank you
Brand new to dip nails, and taking this time, while I wait for my products to arrive, to get on board. Thanks again, @Maggie Rose for guiding me here! I can see I'm going to LOVE my new fun obsession! :-)
You are GORGEOUS. Like, seriously beautiful. Just found your videos because I'm looking to get back into doing my nails and I wanted to try dip powder but knew nothing about it. Thanks for the great information!
I just now "discovered" you!! Thank You for all your great tips, I cannot wait to try them, especially the Apex. This is one of the biggest issues I have, the uneven bump. I have been getting my nails done professionally for 10 years and started doing them myself during the quarantine and after the salons opened back up, I decided to keep doing it myself cuz it's cheaper and I already invested money into dip colors. I LOVE REVEL!! Anyway, I glue nail tips on and have some struggles there. I want to look and see if you have any videos on that. I am also anxious to see if you have videos on my other "struggles". LOL!!
L-O-V-E your videos, you are just too cute! Just did my first dip, I've previously done acrylic, builder gel, and polygel. (All significantly harder than dipping imo and waaaay more time consuming). I also tried your tip for the last step and used my shiniest gel top coat with LED/UV lamp. Thank you and please keep making videos!!!!! 💅💖😊
Natural light is best for me , great tip .You have beautiful hair . Can you do a video on hair care tips ? That was so funny, you made me jump with that scary nail bit 👍
Need more videos like this❤️. Enjoyed. You should also have an amazon page with all your favorites so you can get credit. Bought lots off your recommendations. Have you tried other brands of dips? Sky?
Hi! Just started dip nails and I am watching some RUclips videos in order to avoid hurting my hands or nails. Thank you for your tips! I have one question though, when dipping in for example 2 or 3 times (depends on opacity I guess), it gets a bit bumpy. How do you get the nice sale/thickness of the nails? I’m currently being really careful with filing 😳. Again thanks for the tips, looking forward to my new manicure!
Virginy Vandenberghe have your watched my “nail dip powders for newbies”? That goes in depth on exactly how I do my nails, how many dips I use, my actual process and how I make my nails smooth and what not. 😉
Is there an easy way, or rule of thumb way, to know where the apex of the nail should be? Also, thanks for all the tips and things for beginners, you are soooo helpful to newbies.
Mrs Press awe thank you! I would say the apex should just past halfway but a tiny bit closer to your cuticle than the tip of your finger...I hope that helps!
Mrs Press also! I forgot to ask, if you haven’t watched my “nail tutorial” video that I made prior to this one, I show you EXACTLY how to do the apex method and where it should start and all that Jazz 😉
Maggie Rose I did watch it, but my nails are very wonky...my natural nails dip and curve at the ends so I think I need to maybe do the first step of the apex more than once??? I don’t want to use tips, but I’m starting to think it may be easier and I know the results would be better...I’m just fighting it for some reason😂
Hi there, and thank you so much for these helpful videos!! I think I've seen you show this in one of your videos, but I wanted to mention my personal experience. Building any sort of apex with dip powder for me is next to impossible. I've tried every way I've seen anyone do it, and it never looks the same way it does in the videos. It's always more lumpy and bumpy, than smooth and curved like how an apex should look. I realize that some filing and shaping is always required, but the results I get from following tutorials are just not the same at all, and my nails still usually look very flat from a side view.. even with 3 plus layers of powder. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated! ❤️
Yes! I go into DETAIL explaining the apex method in my “dip powder nail tutorial for newbies” and I have heard a lot of great feedback from people who say that method usually doesn’t work for them and then they said my video somehow really helped. So let me know if that video helps you!
How long do you spend on filing compared to the other steps? Mine have been hella chunky and I feel like I spend soooo much time filing more than any other step
lorma goonbus oh does sure filing takes the longest but worth it! Don’t be afraid to take you time filing to get to the smoothness you like. I also have found that other brands can be more chunky than the revel brand too, so just be aware that some brands can be more chunky than others.
Do you know anything about using step one as a glue for attaching bail tips? I’ve heard in a video by someone else that this is something revel recommends doing? However I have not been able to find any information on this
Yes! I use it for attaching tea bag tips and I will add that to my list of videos to post to my channel! But basically you paint a coat of step one at the tip of your nail, then place the tea bag square (or coffee filter, or paper towel) on top of your nail about 1/3 of the way down and let that sit for a bit, then coat again with step one and then let it dry and then just pretend it’s a normal nail and dip like normal-and then file the heck out of the wonky tip afterwards 😂
Amy Wideman I make my own, they sell the clear sticks but not the actual color swatches ...well actually I take that back, I think they do sell them big they are super expensive 🤔
i used the revel nail and my pro base got screwed shut! i had to use pliers to undo them but then it cracked the bottle and then spilled out! i wished i knew this before... i just bought from sparkle and co in replacement!

Katie Terakami I’ve been looking into doing just that! And I haven’t tried other brands yet but I’m thinking I may do that soon!
Maggie Rose that would be wonderful. Why did you pick rebel nails? And not the kiara sky? Or others?

More nails tutorial please
Waiting an hour after you soak your hands helps a ton! I promise
Did you make your own color swatches, or can you buy these?
Amy Wideman I make my own, they sell the clear sticks but not the actual color swatches ...well actually I take that back, I think they do sell them big they are super expensive 🤔

How are their liquids?? Do they ever get glued shut?
You're beautiful and adorable.
Oh my goodness haha thank you 🥰
