Aaron Rosand has one of most exquisite violin tone ever recorded. It's is warm yet bright, a kind of "sunny" tone, in a way like Zino Francescatti's, despite both artists have quite different musical views. Rosand belongs to a Golden Era of violin playing and deserves to be widely known by younger generations. All my admiration for Mr. Rosand! But in this particular recording, Mr. Silberstein plays also fantastic on his 1720 Goffriller cello.

notes?
I agree. A great living violinist of equally brilliant virtuosity, exquisitely beautiful tone, and fine musicianship is Ilya Kaler.
Why isn't this work played more often? Great playing from both Aaron Rosand and Jascha Silberstein. Keep it up!
Aaron Rosand is a far better violinist than Isaac Stern
Well said!! Can't agree more!!
100crowns absolutely
yes definitely. Rosand plays in tune, actually. Stern....not as much.
