What a shame Baby Brown didn’t like his lovely cot - the boy will have to learn good taste! Great use of the wood and the wardrobe looks as though it has received approval! Thanks, Keith.
I’m 40 and only build projects for our own house as a hobby at weekends. Have always used plywood or solid wood. For first time in my life I decided to try out mdf. Well…it’s the last time I’m using it🤣 I have no dust extraction and I think it will take me a year to clean garage from all the dust after using mdf. That stuff is lethal.
I know exactly how you feel Kieth about passing on a hand-made cot to other people 😀. I made my first son a hand-made cot with a drop-down side (He's 41 now, by the way 🤣🤣). We didn't have room for it when my second son was born, so like you, I was too scared to give it away. The wardrobe looks amazing, and the drawer pulls are such a finishing touch. My first grandson is also absolutely mad about tractors. Hopefully, that Wardrobe will become somewhat of an heirloom 👏👏👏👏
That came out really lovely. The combination of the color against the wood is fantastic and the drawer handles are a really nice personal touch. It's also great to see a dad put so much love and care into providing for his family. Well done all around.
If I could add a GIF it would definintley be of a beaming Gandalf saying "Good, yes very good" (hopefully you get the reference). Turned out fantastic Keith, well done 👍
What a great transformation that turned out beautifully It looks like baby Brown love the handles and it’s so beautiful you made something for him that will grow with him throughout his life I’m sure he will treasure this beautiful piece.
I remember seeing your video making this and thinking, I wonder if his child will ever use it, mine certainly didn't 😂😂❤️ parenting is like that, almost everything you expect and think will happen doesn't and you're constantly surprised and learning! Our son slept with us for the first two years and it made life easier for all of us... I love the drawer pulls! I suggest you find a way to fix the furniture to the wall, he will start climbing soon and it could tip over (you'd be surprised just how strong they get quite quickly) All the best, really enjoyed this
This was such a wholesome video Keith. Really enjoyed the progression of the same materials to make something new for baby Brown. The end result was really stylish too. I'd have that wardrobe in my room for sure. Top work as always 👍
Although my son is grown, I can never let him watch these videos. I won't risk his look of disappointment (much like my cat's when she caught me watching the adventure playground video). His questioning stare as to why I didn't love him enough to build him something. I was a dad with tools who worked with tools, like every day. And yet, nada. His ignorance will be my bliss.
you lost me at the mortises maker, then lost me again at the lathe, and then I realised that my shed is 1/20 size of your workshop, but, still love to look at those things getting made, thanks
aw man, watching him tear down the cot was sad...It was a great piece that took a lot of thought, planning, and effort to make. Such a shame it went to waste. :( I probably would have just made the kid sleep in it, that's not torture. lol
Cracking job Keith looks amazing. Looks like you'll need make baby brown a cot style bed rather than a cot sounds like a good video and another excuse for a wood bin run 🏴👍
Love the handles and how you're creating videos for your son to look back on. I wonder if he'll ever feel guilty later in life for not wanting to use the cot you hand-crafted? 😂
Another great video Keith. Is there any chance you could add a reference to the video where you covered the 'hot glue trick' for positioning drawer fronts?
When you found the base was too long, couldn't you have cut through the long rails at one end, trimmed them to length then just machined new domino mortices through the old dominos? I would have thought that easier than what you did, and would have given the look you originally intended. Other than that it turned out great. And I love the drawer handles, and the fact they are updateable.
I am very impressed by those slatted shelves but “dissembling” the old drawer with your boot! Really? Running around with a track saw would have salvaged more usable wood IMHO. Not planning properly and using a steel tape might explain the need to modify the plinth to fit. But ha ho who’s serious about detail. One serious detail overlooked is the potential consequence of “Baby Brown pulling open one of those drawers and getting inside. The wardrobe install isn’t finish until its firmly attached to the wall, again IMHO.
Was it BS when you say at 0:45 "I want to make something that will grow old with him" and later add a tractor and an helicopter that he'll hate at from the age of 10 (from experience) or maybe even before that)
Keith takes a wonderfully made piece of furniture and turns into . . . Another wonderful piece of furniture. Ruddy clever man is our Keith
Thank you!
Most heartedly agree!
the fact that baby brown will be able to look back at this video is awesome
Makes you think, will people be watching these videos in 100 years time.
Bit heartbroken to see the cot go! Was my favourite of all your projects!!
Thank you. Me too
I loved this project from start to finish, but seeing baby brown admiring the handle, made me shed a tear. Thats so adorable, great work :D
Thank you so much!
Baby Brown definitely seemed happy with the drawer handles, lovely job repurposing the cot.
Thank you! 😊
the handles were so beautiful, your kid is growing in a loving family
I so admire your ingenuity Keith. That's a great looking wardrobe.
That kind of ingenuity is another of the things that makes me enjoy this channel so much.
Thanks!

What a relief...from the Instagram post I thought this amazing bed had gone wrong, but glad to hear it's purely a practical recycling job!

Great job again Mr Brown. You are one of the great woodworkers on RUclips.

Great idea kieth and we'll carried out with lovely touches.
Real ingenuity Keith. Though I loved the cot, you can see which piece gets Baby Brown’s vote.
Such a lucky little boy! Great workmanship, lovely wardrobe. The helicopter/tractor was cool and I’m an adult lol.
Such a brilliant job, love Baby Browns reaction
I think the best part of the whole project were the custom truck/heli handles - gives a ton of character for such a small addition - Love it!
Thanks!
Brilliant job to reuse the materials for such a different project
good idea to fix that to the wall.i learnt that through experience.absolutely fantastic job.
That came out really lovely. The combination of the color against the wood is fantastic and the drawer handles are a really nice personal touch. It's also great to see a dad put so much love and care into providing for his family. Well done all around.

Made with love, I'd say. Cheers Keith and thanks.
That turned out amazing
Thanks Keith, Fridays just aren’t Fridays without a ragnbone video! Great project
Wow that looks fantastic and that colour is perfect
Thank you! Cheers!
that came out great - I see toy making in your future, your son gravitated to those knobs.
Impressive. Baby Brown will be pleased.
Those drawer handles are so sweet 💚🫶🏼
Thank you
Good call on the chamfers. They are what separate us from the animals, after all.
If I could add a GIF it would definintley be of a beaming Gandalf saying "Good, yes very good" (hopefully you get the reference). Turned out fantastic Keith, well done 👍
Fabulous project. Thank you!
Glad you like it!

Great job! It looks stunning!
Brilliant, as they say over there.
That's beautiful.
Thank you! Cheers!
The finished product looks great. Love the colour too. Thanks for the video.
Excellent job, Keith. You have great imagination.
Thank you very much
Well done Keith.👍👍
Really beautiful. I really enjoyed the video.

Thank you too
Absolutely outstanding project! I loved everything about this video, keep up the amazing work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the drawer handles
Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant !
That turned out really well 🎉❤
Really nice result.👌
Super nice piece of furniture you made.
Thank you! Cheers!
Phenomenal work. The paint finish is just amazing. Project turned out great.
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing
Love a bit of upcycling!

Woodworking boss level; kicking the living daylights out of a drawer! LOL...enjoyed the recycling aspect.

wow that is massive! quite the project, Keith. Well done!
Thanks
Beautiful work, Keith! Really well done!!! 😃
Too bad about the crib, but well... Better to be used!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too!
great job
At one stage I thought you were going to convert cot to Chaise Longue. You fit in It well!!
I hope you tether that to the wall. Baby Brown is definitely going to want to climb on it.
Cracking job Keith looks amazing. Looks like you'll need make baby brown a cot style bed rather than a cot sounds like a good video and another excuse for a wood bin run 🏴👍
Cheers! We got him a floor bed (I found it by some bins!!) and it's working out well so far
Love those handles. Great job
Thanks 👍
@@RagnBoneBrown 👍
love the idea of making the helicopter handles top notch job mate
Babies are so ungrateful :) Nice project!
Nice!!!
Wow!
Good job!
Doesn't seem like a year since you were making the cot!
Amazing job mate 👏
Baby browns gonna need an actual bed at some point in the next year.
Nice
00:15 "Harvey the Carpenter" lol
Love the handles and how you're creating videos for your son to look back on. I wonder if he'll ever feel guilty later in life for not wanting to use the cot you hand-crafted? 😂
Cheers Vikkie!
Quality 👌
Really nice! What if baby brown ever gets a sister/brother? 😊 You'll build a new bed? 😊
I think one is enough for us
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Admit it - 'twas all just an excuse to make the toy car & helicopter 😂
Very nice...what if Baby Brown ends up with a baby brother or sister ? 😊
It'll be a while with him sleeping in mom and Dad's bed lol
Hes gonna show this to everyone in 20 years saying look what my dad made
Another great video Keith. Is there any chance you could add a reference to the video where you covered the 'hot glue trick' for positioning drawer fronts?
Thanks! I think I covered it in this one ruclips.net/video/Hgvc5-PH470/видео.html
Hi Keith, Are you going to make a bed for Baby Brown in the near future? Andy
Hi Andy, no I found a floor bed frame by some bins, cleaned it up and got a new mattress and he's sleeping in there now 👍
When you found the base was too long, couldn't you have cut through the long rails at one end, trimmed them to length then just machined new domino mortices through the old dominos? I would have thought that easier than what you did, and would have given the look you originally intended.
Other than that it turned out great. And I love the drawer handles, and the fact they are updateable.
Yeah that would have worked but been more work, I was at that stage where I just wanted it to be done
The only one not liking this is poor Mickey :p
I'm so sorry, but I have to ask if you tip-proofed this large wardrobe?
11:38 Measure twice, cut once. 🤷🤣
He's not going to sleep in on your bed forever, for everyone's sake but i guess that's another video when you make him a bed
We have a floor bed for him now which is going better

I will have to say that I totally disagree with the decision making here. Surely the right decision would have been to just have another baby! 😄
It was painful watching you destroy it
You know what's going to happen, right? He's going to refuse to put his clothes in there and just keep putting them in _your_ wardrobe instead.
🤣
Yeah that's why i don't have kids 🙃
Was it BS when you say at 0:45 "I want to make something that will grow old with him" and later add a tractor and an helicopter that he'll hate at from the age of 10 (from experience) or maybe even before that)
you must have missed how he said those are replaceable
12:42
He said I've made them removable so he can swap them out later on when he's grown out of them.
@@mld8 yes indeed I've missed that bit. thanks
