  • We go through my old childhood Star Wars collection to see what we can salvage. Star Wars Kenner toys from the70's and 80's often get lost when you are a kid, but in this episode we find some of my childhood figures and see which ones are good enough to make it into my current collection run.

      There are a couple more that I can re-use. Some of them the pews are REALLY expensive though, so we shall see. Thanks for watching Prune. Im digging checking out your IG account too. Good stuff.

    Joey, I think the more of your childhood toys you use will bring that sense of wonderment and connection you had in the first place. Sometimes getting replacements are void of the actual bond between owner and the toy, but totally necessary to complete the line. Short of buying Mint On Cards and breaking them open, it's inevitable you'll have to buy loose. The Black Hole blaster comparison is great, not one I've noticed, but I can see where you are coming from. I've got a Mego 3.75 Sentry Robot somewhere and the blaster he came with looks nothing like the film or the Bespin! Onwards...🤘

      I agree with you Martin and I am planning to incorporate more of my childhood figures into my main display run. I just need to do more weapons and accessories searches!! Thank you for your comment Martin, always a pleasure reading what you have to say. Happy holidays!

    That's cool you're having fun. I think you should have gotten a different C-3PO and the death Star Commander had too much paint rub. I still have my original walrus man but it would never make it in my collection but I'll still keep it. This is a fun little series I enjoy watching you do this.

    C3PO was my first ever figure as a kid. My grandma got him for me for my birthday as soon as they were in stores in our town. She bought and returned three of them after I opened them and found that they were so heavily painted that I couldn't pose them. :) Finally found one that had moveable joints. Ironically, he's super floppy today and I have to stick him to a Star Stand with a little bit of poster tack to make him stand up. He's also almost devoid of paint in all of the main wear spots. He's still my favorite and stands on my computer desk today. Is he pretty? No, but I proudly display him because of the decades of memories he's imbued with.
    Interesting video. I love your message of there's no shame in being a padawan. People need to remember this in all areas of life whether they are being too hard on themselves, or on someone else.
    There are a bunch of great Star Wars collector groups on FB and I've met some great guys on them who have hooked me up with missing accessories for my OG figures as well as a few replacements for ones that got broken (usually by my sister or cousins), or lost when I was a kid. I've learned a lot on these groups and continue to. Thanks for posting this video in Star Wars Action Figures 1978 Till Now, one of my favorite FB collectors groups.

      THANK you for your story John! I really dig that each figure especially your 3PO has a story and a meaning for you. Every figure has a story and I bet you can recall many more stories of more. I think playing with figures taught me how to be a storyteller and helped me hone my imagination as I used to set up my own adventures with the figures. So stoked that you have these memos too and again thanks for sharing them. I agree that the FB groups and community on there has made my collections journey easier and more fun. It’s cool to connect with like minded people who not only want to help, but are also interested in your collecting story. Very nice meeting you my friend. Thanks for watching and I hope you continue to follow the journey :).

    I still have all of my orignial SW Toys from my childhood but my R2-D2 is rather beat up and I'm thinking of restoring him using Retro Blasting and Toy Polloi's video's as a guide. Does this take away from it's market value or is the sentimental value more important?

    • @Drewbfree23
      @Drewbfree23 3 года назад +1

      I would say yes if you replace r2 sticker that’s not good it’s best to upgrade him i am always on the look out to upgrade figures but still retaining my childhood figures

    • @jaxcredible4499
      @jaxcredible4499 3 года назад +1

      It should increase the value. a beat up R2 is only worth like 10 dollars.
