I’ve been practicing this fader technique. I never knew you could use the colour fx on on the filter. I was putting pink noise on the opposite channel to the music 😆. Glad this video came out. That’s a much better way

Great work.... I used to incorporate that trans effect into a lot of my sets, at the right times, of course. That was on Traktor Pro. Since then, I've upgraded my controller to the DDJ-SR2, which is a Serato controller. My question is, how can you apply those changes on Serato DJ PRO?

In Serato i'm not sure if there's a dedicated function for this but if you have an open channel(3 or 4) you can load a white noise track to it and leave it looping. Then just play with the upfader

Useful tricks! If you click on the three grey points just next to CFX panel or the only blue point you can use two differents CFX at each Deck, for example: Filter on Deck 1 and Noise on Deck 2 and you can control it independently. It's awesome!

Thanks for the Tutorial Mate. I have another question to the DDJ-400. In Recordbox there are 4 Effekts, but i just know how to play the first and the Last FX. Is there any way to acivate the second or third FX with the controler ? Atm i change the FX while playing, buit it would be much easier when i could use 2 more FX Channels. Thanks for the help !

In the FX chip pack ON SERATO DJPRO is the only sweeper i can find that sounds like the video one,but i cant work out a way to assign it to another deck or remap etc to chop it up ? Anyone ?

Is possible to change the tipe of cfx that's using adding some combination of button on the device(I've got a ddj400) ? Maybe that I press a button and it change from filter to jet
Not that I'm aware of. I ended up getting a DDJ-1000 just to be able to switch more freely, it's so much better
If you want to be able to do that easily, get a DDJ 800 or 1000. The 800 is 3 times the price and ten times the controller than the 400. I went on this journey myself, so I'm talking from experience not heresay.

Somewhat unrelated, but I noticed you have only a limited number of FX1 options to scroll and choose between, how do you cut the ones out that you don't use? I've been trying to figure that out since I only use a handful and don't like having to scroll through all of them with the controller FX select button.

virtual dj has more features and its easier to use n swap the filter knob for anything...i highly recomend switching especially now that u can take out the vocals or enhance it( i used to use serato)

Hi Jamie I have question:
I've got the ddj-400 for 2-3 months now and am starting to want to mix 3-4 decks, just to see how it works. I can change the setting in Rekordbox to 4decks horizontal, but can I map a button on the deck to switch from deck 1 & 2 to deck 3 & 4?

Looks like you have to buy more expensive controller. They at Pioneer strongly positioning DDJ-400 as two-channel gear *only.* It seems that rekordbox {un}blocks some of its features according to model of the controller connected to it. You can't even assign any button for toggling vinyl mode when using DDJ-400, think for yourself does make it sense to hope you can set up this entry-level hardware for 4-channel mixing?
If you just want to try, you may use traktor with DDJ-400, like I did a couple of years ago. Traktor is way more customisable than rekordbox and it _is_ possible to use it as 4-channel soft with _any_ model of controller. But I have to warn you: mapping is such an annoying task! You need to map always anything, from jog to crossfader! Or maybe you can find ready-to-use mapping over the Internet.
But... it is not good deal to discuss traktor on rekordbox channel :-)

I'm currently working my way through your online course...is this feature available in traktor pro3; using a S2Mk3? ...or an equivalent feature/trick?
Manually? Yes. Automatically? No. TP3 has the mixer fx. Just click on the "noise" fx. I have my denon mc4000 mapped where I can switch mixer fx and the filter knob controls the fx.
Yes you set up the fx in the traktor 3 settings. You go on mixer settings if I'm not mistaking
