could you build the same box but instead of a recording it repeats what the person says on the phone back at them with a .05 to .2 of a second delay. It is proven people can't speak when they hear themselves with a slight delay I think it's called delayed auditory feedback.
Not really :( New phones now-days have a limit of volume wich you can hear. Back in the day of the old nokias, you would have to tell someone to STFU if they started yelling because it was too loud.
Bence Illés The problem is you won't have time because it will ring for a long time before you can load the video, etc...

kipkay Just wanted to say that this project is much more effective. :) Just those who don't have the skills, time, resources, etc. to build such things. BTW it looks really cool.
I find it stupid how people are thinking negative about his idea . There may be simpler ways to do it but please appreciate his time & creativity. This is actually really cool & unique. && I hope you guys DO realize he says " fun phone spam destroyer " at the end. (: but this was great !
That is fucked up. I agree with you. Back in the good old days when the Liberals didn't take over our country electronics experimenters could at least do something without all the hoops we have to jump through today.
Noo, no no! What you _need_ To do Is answer the phone with 4 magic words "911 What's your emergency?" in a soft voice and they never call you again!* *Does not work for Automated phone calls
KoboChatEnterprises Yes, head off into the harsh, uncaring toxic, hel that is nature! Just write a power of attorney first so when nature inevitably kills you I get ll your stuff.
I know you said blocking doesn't work at sometimes, but it depends on how you block stuff. I used groups on my phone and some app that allows me to select a group to only accept calls from. The group has all listed numbers I know and anything not on that group is auto-blocked + phone volume temporarily turns down. This works for any number that isn't on the group at anytime. It's not hard.
+Zaviex +adi4u48821 What if you just have an app answer the call and play that message? For example when using Android and it asks you what you would like to use to do a certain action, make said app the primary. Idk if it would work but just an idea.
daobri belleh I acutally wanted to develop an app like that few years ago, but during call actions, no other services can interfere with it, only you can manually record, or speak something. And if you were to attend the call and want to play a msg via a sound filem it cannot be done since Music Player fucntions can go only one way, only you can hear what's playing, and the same happens on speaker also. The simple answer is no, at least for now.
Lol but I love when these scammers call me! Especially the house security system scam, they call me about 3 times a week... "yes i am the homeowner" "It's one bed one bath" "what, you wont secure a camper" "what do you mean I dont qualify?" Haha they always end up hanging up on me but for some reason it picks my day up trolling some trolls
Easy solution to this that works on your phone, nothing else needed to "destroy spam calls" (but this explanation is long winded...) I have this recording set as the beginning of my voicemail on my cell phone. This recording is just the three tones at the beginning of the recording though, no words, and basically signals to telemarketer dialers that the number is out of service. The three tones are what it listens for, nothing else... people on my VM may get freaked out but all have gotten used to it. In the past few months I've only gotten two spam calls (both not in my area codes or those that border mine) and they have been sent to voicemail, haven't heard back from either. Works like a charm. Getting the tones on your voicemail is the difficult part, to do this you will have to find the three tones (grab a recording online) and record your voicemail greeting after it. Use Audacity or similar on computer. Then find a voicemail access number for your carrier and play back the recording on Google Voice/Skype or similar. If anyone is interested in this but still a bit confused, drop a reply to this comment and I'll help you out. Hope this helps you
You guys with the negative comments...you miss the point of these projects. It is meant to teach you how to make little projects to build your confidence for the bigger more complicated things and have fun at the same time. Stop being such jerks. If you did not like the project, simply move on. There is no need for negative criticism and insults.
Andre van Wyk "there is no need for negative criticism" Ah yes, never encourage people to improve because it might lead to negative feelings. That's how the world works.
KoboChatEnterprises That's not how you think the world works. Criticism is not limited to negative. Positive criticism not only brings constructive solution, but also better feelings. There are too many ways to encourage people to improve and you only named one of them.
Or just put an airhorn sound and boost up the volume get some earplugs to protect your ears. Once you get a call click the button and the spammers ears doe
That's the way to do it. When I was still living at home (right after Highschool) my parents kept getting one guy. I eventually turned their TV on to classical, got the phone up to the TV. "Hello please hold, a representative will be with you shortly." *unmutes TV, plays two minutes of classical music* It worked on my own parents once or twice...
On American phones, the call failed sound has slight variances in the frequency of the tones that a computer can hear and it can tell what went wrong with the call. IC_SIT means that the line is disconnected so if you have your voicemail begin with that the robocall computer may blacklist your number
RANDOM VIDS Yes...like I said I have tried that and sometimes it still doesn't work so I decided to try and alternative method. Seems to be working on a few stubborn callers.

Kipkay I have a project idea for you. It involves repurposing. If interested reply. Thanks
No
The saying no offense I really like the idea and I know this was made a year ago but most of the spam numbers are actually robots
Thanks to RUclips translate I can
Or you can use another cell phone to play the audio
I Love Creativity what if you don’t have on or you aren’t prepared
SlipperySushi3 so you’re telling you dont have another device that can just play the audio but you do have this pointless box next to you?
SlipperySushi3 but... You need a computer to use the box
this is exactly what i was thinking
But That's not fun....
Cheaper and easier solution: buy an airhorn and blast it into your phone when they call.
Yeah because im gonna have an airhorn everywhere i go

I don't know if I should blast a Airhorn into a small iPhone microphone, wouldn't not be good for the microphone ?
I have a button on my phone that says decline. I wonder what it does.
timinator855 I wonder why they will call again if u click it.
Commas, use them.

I would record "911 what's your emergency hello.... Hello what's your emergency"

I would say welcome to the official microsoft security operations team, may we have your query?
Would that be legal "posing as 911?"
This might actually be illegal I'm not entirely sure

kipkay Not if you have good internet and keep it bookmarked. LOL
When i get these calls I've got a little MP3 player and i play the Monty Python Spam song.
Spam! Spam! Spam! Spam! Lovely Spam! Lovely Spam!
Love it.
Interesting idea, but you can also use an inexpensive ready made voice recorder which is much smaller.
Why not just play it from your computer speakers
+Christopher Jordan My computer is not near my business phone or cell and not loaded ready to play.

cheaper solution: throw your phone in the garbage and go outside

Um, did you just make a thing that is already built into every phone?
Nice I am a EE major and it looks like you got all kinds of cool experiments for me to goof around with in my spare time to work on my soldering skill
Just have the sound saved on your phone, and play it when they call. 100x easier.
Kyogre Cubing | ikyogre1 Have an app that shuts the mic off and plays this audio on a software level. I'm sure someone could code an app for it.
Jaymes Stewart It won't work, it is restricted in Android API, and im pretty sure it won't be allowed in other mobile operating systems also.
Jaymes Stewart can't be done. You can't do that during a phone call. The iOS and Android SDKs both dont give you API access to it

Andre van Wyk. Exactly
IT HAS BEEN GREAT WATCHING YOU OVER THE YEARS
This has got to be the craziest thing I have seen to date.
Troll some telemarketers.
I just answer and breath heavily into the mic, I don't say a word, just a creepy wheezy breathing sound.
it sounds me like "Welcome to the Game"
Or just put an airhorn sound and boost up the volume get some earplugs to protect your ears. Once you get a call click the button and the spammers ears doe
imagine combining all of kipkay's inventions into one
I just recorded that same message to my voicemail greeting. Then I added all the unknown calls to a contact without a ringer.
That's the way to do it.
When I was still living at home (right after Highschool) my parents kept getting one guy. I eventually turned their TV on to classical, got the phone up to the TV.
"Hello please hold, a representative will be with you shortly."
*unmutes TV, plays two minutes of classical music*

I just watched a ad and I thought it was the video it was about 6 things that you hack for school I thought it was the video😂😂😆
I was confused too because the skip ad was glitchy and I couldn't see it XD
an ad*
Ty Krissell There is a magical extension called "Adlock"....
I never pick up calls from unknown numbers, i usually just press volume down to mute my ringtone:)
Or you know... Block the callers.
RANDOM VIDS Yes...like I said I have tried that and sometimes it still doesn't work so I decided to try and alternative method. Seems to be working on a few stubborn callers.
+kipkay Sorry about that, for some reason it feels like an honor that you replied.
kipkay kipkay what case is on your iphone it looks sick!!!
I think it'd be cool to hook up the audio jack on your destroyer to your phone and have the call play back to the caller like a speech jammer.
Awwww, I was hoping it would be a screeching noise that would murder their ears.
Yeah right.. except if it's just a robot spamming you, it won't listen and it's just gonna call again.
Le Derp Français Then block the number or get to the police for non stop spamming
And I'm sure everyone just casually has a soldering iron
+SirDerplington
Yeah, everyone in the world has one! Even a homeless person does! I always see them use their soldering iron on DIY projects.
+SirDerplington i have one and i'm only 11
what do you want me to say ?
i have one and im 10
im 10
problem i see with this is that with all the disposable cell phone out there, some of the spam calls are cell companies looking to see what numbers are still active, and which are no longer in use, as there is no other way to know than to call the number

Phone spam destroyer = Phone scam destroyer = Phone telemarketer destroyer! GOOD VIDEO Mr Kipkay! 👍
Wouldn't they just try again? :p
TheMatoroMovement Eventually they would assume that the number they had was not correct and would delete it from their database. Presumably.
Pigwarts5Ever Oh. :3
Or just talk to them forever, u will get on their blacklist. In uk we have laws to protect us. I never get phone spam.
I was hoping for an ear rape machine
instead of the speaker, wuld it be possible so just use a 3.5 jack.
to eliminate background noise?
I'll probably just use an air horm
Not just any air horn, use "The Blaster" air horn
It's too loud
You can directly reject call instead of doing this.
I would just put john cena on and endless loop and hide it in someones attic or something. Maybe i could just wire it and hide it in a junction box.
If your getting spam calls, your number is out there no matter what. Nothing you can do but change your number. Once they have it, it gets spread
I think you could use a 3D printer.
+Mr BenjiBoy (Ben) Just use it
JUST USE IT JUST USE IT
Kyle Messer to print a gun, go to the spammer office and shut them down?
I think you should use a 4D printer
Or you can just look up that sound on your computer and record it when they call. You just saved ten bucks.
+IceCreamJunkie666 What if you're not at your computer? What if its asleep, and take a while to wake up?
i blow a whistle or try to freak them out as long as it is not a recorder
Screws/bolts **exists**
Kipkay: *HOT GLUE*
this is cool, but u can just download truecaller
This is pretty cool!
My teacher did something similar, but instead he made that phone error sound his voicemail and his answering machine greeting. Only his family and friends knew.
Or just don't answer...
An amazing tool to use that blocks unwanted callers is Mr. Number. It uses feedback from other people to block know Spammers and it tells you with a notification. And if one passes through you can search up the unknown number and it may tell you who it is. Figured it’d be helpful for some people
Soundboard anyone ?
built in into androids phone app, i would install lol
These are the type of videos I love. Great idea!
this is useless, you can just click the volume up or down and you won't hear your phone ring when a spammer calls you
He saved the contact name as NO CALLER ID funny af🤣🤣
Or I could just find a mp3 link and put it by my speaker...
Nice build, but pointless xD
You can blow into the mic aswell, it works well and cheap as hell. That rhymes.
Your logos are getting cooler and cooler.
Back in the days of magnetic tape based answering machines I just took a recording of that same message and used it on the answering machine. It only took about a week for all telemarketers to stop calling.
Just blast high pitched frequencies
Just say "Thank you for calling Pizza Hut how may I help you?"
*_IT WORKS_*
By the time he finished building that, all the spammers would be gone by then😂
Just have Liam Neeson on the phone, works every time eh?
nostalgia
That was better then I thought, I can't wait until the say the ism bands get cleaned up.
I'd just play the "this *phone company* phone is no longer in service..." Line and wait for them to hang up.
Awesome invention dude I have lots of spams and I always wanted to make one just like that
The way you say "NUT"
Sounds like it would come from a meme
A more violent solution is to redirect the audio from in output into the input to create a feedback loop.
That is brilliant! It will definitely have your number removed from a call list... Lol
Ive written an app that does something similar to this, except its just high pitched tones that ramps in volume and pitch based on the length of the call duration. Works well, so well in fact ive received complaints!
No, your supposed to put some lit earrape music on the phone spam dystroyer
How to build a phone spam destroyer:
1. Get an airhorn and duct tape
2. When they call, tape the trigger of the airhorn so it stays pressed, for an infinite airhorn effect
3. Leave the room for a minute, they better have hung up lol
Props to KipKay for still using WinAmp.
Whats even more effective is pranking them
I lost track but that that phone jack work as an audio out as well? If so, plug your headphones into it and play the audio straight into the phone instead of through the speaker, risking low quality and background noise.
This is a lot more kind than what I was considering recording.
