could you build the same box but instead of a recording it repeats what the person says on the phone back at them with a .05 to .2 of a second delay. It is proven people can't speak when they hear themselves with a slight delay I think it's called delayed auditory feedback.

  • @bobhope697

Easy solution to this that works on your phone, nothing else needed to "destroy spam calls" (but this explanation is long winded...) I have this recording set as the beginning of my voicemail on my cell phone. This recording is just the three tones at the beginning of the recording though, no words, and basically signals to telemarketer dialers that the number is out of service. The three tones are what it listens for, nothing else... people on my VM may get freaked out but all have gotten used to it. In the past few months I've only gotten two spam calls (both not in my area codes or those that border mine) and they have been sent to voicemail, haven't heard back from either. Works like a charm.
Getting the tones on your voicemail is the difficult part, to do this you will have to find the three tones (grab a recording online) and record your voicemail greeting after it. Use Audacity or similar on computer. Then find a voicemail access number for your carrier and play back the recording on Google Voice/Skype or similar. If anyone is interested in this but still a bit confused, drop a reply to this comment and I'll help you out.
    Hope this helps you

+Zaviex +adi4u48821 What if you just have an app answer the call and play that message? For example when using Android and it asks you what you would like to use to do a certain action, make said app the primary. Idk if it would work but just an idea.

    • @adi4u48821
      @adi4u48821 9 лет назад

daobri belleh I acutally wanted to develop an app like that few years ago, but during call actions, no other services can interfere with it, only you can manually record, or speak something. And if you were to attend the call and want to play a msg via a sound filem it cannot be done since Music Player fucntions can go only one way, only you can hear what's playing, and the same happens on speaker also. The simple answer is no, at least for now.

How to build a phone spam destroyer:
    1. Get an airhorn and duct tape
    2. When they call, tape the trigger of the airhorn so it stays pressed, for an infinite airhorn effect
    3. Leave the room for a minute, they better have hung up lol

I know you said blocking doesn't work at sometimes, but it depends on how you block stuff. I used groups on my phone and some app that allows me to select a group to only accept calls from. The group has all listed numbers I know and anything not on that group is auto-blocked + phone volume temporarily turns down. This works for any number that isn't on the group at anytime. It's not hard.

  • @zues121510

An amazing tool to use that blocks unwanted callers is Mr. Number. It uses feedback from other people to block know Spammers and it tells you with a notification. And if one passes through you can search up the unknown number and it may tell you who it is. Figured it’d be helpful for some people

I have a little hobby of costing telemarketers money by keeping them on the phone as long as possible. Personal best time: 2 hours.
I have a neurological issue that when I'm tired, causes my vocal cords to tighten and tremble giving my voice the shaky higher pitch sound of someone pushing 90. I turn that to my advantage by adopting the persona of a wealthy and partially senile retiree who will buy almost anything just have someone to talk to.
There are websites used by programmers to produce credit card numbers that although fake and invalid, match the proper pattern so that the only way to tell them from real numbers is to run number through the system (which cost money.) Programmers use the numbers for testing how their software handles credit card numbers but if you give one to a telemarketer, their system will accept it as initially valid when typed in. Then I engage in an elaborate back and forth of re-reading the card screwing up the number a different way each time. Then I switch card brands and start all over. (Note: this isn't illegal because you know the card is invalid, know your talking to con-artist criminal and have neither the intent nor means to steal any good or service with the fake card number.)
Then because I'm old and "have a prostrate the size of a grapefruit" I have to go to the bathroom, then get something from my office, answer the door etc. Since I'm on a cell phone, I keep up a prattle all the while, which sends me off on tangents and makes me forget what the phone call is actually best.
All the while, my family is sitting around just about to burst a gut laughing just from hearing my side of the call.
The call usually ends when I can no longer contain my mirth and start laughing like a braying mule and just to salt the wound, inform them that I've been scamming them just to wast their time and cost them money. The slight sinking tone of their voices when they realized they've been had is SO sweet!
Once in a while, when I run out of time I say something like, "Oh, them FBI boys tell me they got all they need so I'll be saying goodby now." and I hang up.
If you've got the time to kill, it's a lot fun and if enough people did it, then it would put a significant dent in the telemarketers bottom line, not to mention their morale.
