This is a telling exchange. The question “do we have the money?” takes on 2 forms. Conditionally or unconditionally do we have the money. We have the money in a conditional sense but we do not have the money in an unconditional sense. That’s the result of the government spending more than the government takes in from income taxes. The money tax makes up the difference as needed which is implemented via interest rates payed to savers and the rate of inflation. And so spending is paid for through the confiscation of the purchasing power of money. The heirs of people with money will inherit money that is worth less and so stealing from future generations
To my knowledge the European natural gas (and oil) resources are located in the North Sea and most of it belongs to Norway and the UK. These countries are no members of the EU. European countries are buying oil and gas from both, but it's nowhere near enough. The only other country that has natural energy resources to speak of is Germany. But, aside from a few offshore gas fields, it is coal. I believe that a small amount of oil could be gained by fracking, but people wouldn't agree with that (neither would I). It's just too dirty. Unfortunately, when it comes to natural gas and oil, Russia is the world's leader. By far. No other country has that much resources.
Sounds like maybe ppl should trade with Russia then and not try to create WW3 by sanctions and militarization next to its borders for for decades. But perhaps that would be peaceful and prosperous and we all know that's not what the elites want.
