Beautiful structure. I love the flow and division of living spaces. This floorplan is superb. The savings by using less expensive, not cheap, materials and the splurges is extremely well balanced. A difficult balance many designers haven't mastered. I am, however, surprised this beautiful home doesn't have a garage or even a carport, to protect their vehicles from the elements. Adding a subterranean garage would have provided extensive storage for all of the exterior furniture during inclement weather or extended absences, in addition to parking. The landscaping will look best once the ground cover has blanketed the cement blocks is color. I do hope they've incorporated solar panels, rain water catchment tanks and other green systems into the home. Not harvesting the sun and rainwater, as well as ignoring geothermal for heating and cooling, is almost criminal today. The only way to improve these technologies further is by demand. If we don't have widespread use, consumers won't know to demand more efficient systems. In my opinion, no structure should be built without solar and rainwater collection systems. Geothermal in not a system every building site can support. However, this site, due to the extensive excavation, was a prime candidate for a geothermal system. That's not to say there isn't one. The program just touch on any of the green aspects built into this home. So much smog though. Was there a wildfire near by while filming?

Yet that most impressive,first encouraging breath of inspiration is knowing such brilliant works of art can be realized and enjoyed for endless generations-done by a South African man!!!! Truly our LORDGOD smiled on him! And to honor HIM I would now trust to turn to my own heritage & land for the building of my house-home!
