I like all your videos. I'm looking for a good Moc Toe boot and your videos help me understand all the brands and elements that make a good quality boot. Any suggestions on companies making Moc Toe boots in 3e sizes? Thanks.
lmao Rose Anvil did a Raid Shadow Legends ad. This channel has nothing to do with video games hahahahaaaaaa. Hey I can't blame you man i don't even consider it selling out.
I bet they don't care. Most people buying work boots will never see these vids. And there's probably tons of people that see the vids, and buy the boots anyway
Even though I disagree with Wolverine ranking higher than Rockrooster and Golden Fox, your videos give enough info for us to decide what works for our own needs.
Especially the Rockrooster, which has an actual vibrams sole. I've had a wolverine "durashock" sole before though, and they do last a long time, at least those center pads do. All that white sole will wear down and round over around the edges and those big pads in the center will still be in good shape. But for 200, this thing is a no-go
I’m a commercial electrician and have been wearing these boots everyday for two and a half years. They have been fantastic. I’m shocked they didn’t rate better. Mine have the black soles if that makes any difference. I have been waiting for them to wear out. I have a brand new pair sitting on my shelf. I did clean them occasionally and take a handful of mink oil and rub it on super think, let them sit overnight and wipe off the access the next day. I work outside a lot and they are great and have a composite toes. I’m surprised I didn’t notice the lack of a shank, I’m on a ladder a lot. Thanks for the review, I was hoping you would do these.
I think it seems like they’re a decent boot. Taking care of it the way you have definitely helps - the big problem here isn’t terrible construction, it’s terrible marketing. It would be nice if they would focus on the construction as opposed to the advertising claims.
That’s the difficult part of these videos, you don’t get to see how they hold up long term. I’ve had a pair of Chippewas that looked disappointing when cut in half, but I’ve been in them 40-50 hours a week for 4 years and I’m still happy with them.
I'm also an electrician and have been for about 10 years; I've used Wolverine Durashocks this entire time. Not this particular model - there's another pair that come in black and have a steel toe. On average (because I don't spend any time on leather care) a single pair of these will last me three years before the outsole has no functional tread left and the leather on the toe has so much damage that the steel is almost completely exposed, making it not worth it at all to resole/repair them. On average, this costs me about $60 per year. If you're caring for them like you say you are, I would also suggest having some toe caps applied to mitigate the damage from kicking/dropping things and pay special attention to the tread wear. Other than that, they're quality boots that will definitely serve you well in the long term. On top of that, I've also found that these are extremely comfortable and mitigate foot fatigue to a high degree; ladder work is much more tolerable due to the cushioning the entire sole structure provides. Definitely keep a pair in reserve if you like them so you have a pair to use while you're getting your main pair resoled, but you'll likely enjoy these as long as they continue to make them.
I wore a pair of bates durashocks for a number of years when I worked security. I found they were very comfortable and they did generally hold up for a year or 2 in general duty use. My pair started to fall apart and the company did stand behind the product by sending me the replacement out before I sent the other ones back. That way I didn’t have to wear another pair of boots. Have bought them on and off over the years. At least until I started buying Jim greens
I got big wide feet, so I just stick with the Red Wing 1907. This guy told me the other day I should check out these Portland Leather Boots. I just laughed and sent him a link to your video on them.
That’s my issue too. Wide feet. I ordered a pair of Whites Perry moc toe in EE and they were too tight. So I traced my foot and sent it into whites and said I needed an F in width. So I ordered the Whites Longliner boot in FF and it has been the best boot. To bad they cost an arm and a leg. I do have a pair of the Thorogood Emperor Toe boot and I loved those boots for a long time. However, those Thorogood boots are only 8in tall. And the Whites are 10in tall. And now all I can think about is a FF boot that is 10in tall. First world problems! Lol
I'm a sneaker (trainer) guy, but last year I bought some £275 Italian dress shoes for a wedding, from an Italian tailor called Romeo, in Richmond, London. The brand is Sergio Duletti. I'm honestly mesmerised by the build quality. I can't even work out how they stifffened the heel; it's uncompressable, but at the same time incredibly thin. The main leather of the shoe is dark blue, and crimped in such a way that makes it look and feel quilted. It's also just 1mm thick, and so soft and pliable. My first wear of them was about 12 hours on the wedding day, and my feet were fine when I took them off. They needed no breaking in. I'd love to see your channel look at some expensive dress shoes, just to get some insight into the build techniques.
I work at a boot store and your information has been extremely helpful when it comes to sales. I love holding the boot while listening to you and seeing what you’re saying
How incredibly disappointing of them. It's a real shame these companies keep getting away with being misleading or right out lying. Especially as it degrades the whole brand. Makes you less excited for what can be otherwise great boots/products!
I feel like the rockrooster vibram sole boot is a better value. $190 for these seems like its a bit overpriced. maybe 160 170 would be more fair because that same 20 to 30 difference above 190 can get a quite better boot.
Agreed. The RockRooster has thicker full grained leather, 179 lb puncture resistant and leather goodyear welt. It is not water proof though and I don’t remember if it has a shank. The Wolverine is thinner wax newbuck leather and only 81 lb puncture resistant but is water resistant.
Right on, came here to say the same. When I was watching the Rockrooster teardown I pulled up the Amazon listing... and to my surprise, they had one pair left in my size for $90! Impulse buy. Now having seen them in person, the RRs are definitely more impressive than I'd anticipated-and I'm typically a Thorogood/Red Wing guy. Costing just half of what the Wolverines do ($180/Mens 14 on Amazon today), what Rose Anvil fan *wouldn't* prefer the RRs if forced to choose?
@@matthewcaughey8898 I could see how that might be a problem depending on shoe size. In my case it’s not a problem as I wear a US14 so every shoe is a clown shoe on me.
Thanks again for your videos guys. I work at Mieras Shoes in Michigan and just educating folks and getting them thinking about the boots out there helps stores like us. Cheers!
Had two pairs of Wolverines in the 90s. First pair was good and I got great use out of them. The subsequent pair I bought as replacement that was manufactured offshore were pretty terrible by comparison and my last pair of Wolverines. Switched to Red Wing and have been happy with them since.
Wolverine and it’s brands will always have a spot on Walmart and Boot Barn discount shelves, so they can sleep easy. Have y’all considered releasing leather suspenders to go along with the belts? An interchangeable button, snap clip, or clip end with a sold separately bachelor button set would be amazing. Maybe there can be a wider version with shoulder pads for work suspenders and a slightly slimmer one without shoulder pads for casual suspenders? I don’t know how much work that would be compared to the camera harnesses, but it would be pretty unique for Rose Anvil compared to all the heritage style belt offering popping up on social media right now. Nicks, Hanks, and NB leather have been flooding my Facebook and RUclips about their belts. Just a thought.
I bought these 2 years ago. Pros: super comfy soles to wear long term, used them in a wear house setting and had plenty of opportunity to beat them up and they hold up, looks good, and the waterproofing did work for me during Chicago winters. Cons: I got the safety toe version for work and the shape of the safety cap ended up digging into the side of my toe and killing the nerve for several months. I stopped wearing them for that reason and after months the feeling in my toe returned to normal. If it weren’t for this issue I would give it a 10 but because of this issue I’d say 7.5
That's what I was wondering. The Rockrooster seems better in every way. The way he was complaining about the build and the lies of the wolverines I thought it was going to be at the bottom of the list
@@Flash007b Well, my house slippers are pretty comfortable, but I wouldn't wear them to do any serious work or pay $190 for them either. WAYYYY too much money for boot that is constructed just like an average Walmart Brahma!
I'd easily take the rockroosters over these. Rockroosters seemed like diet thorogoods, and I honestly don't see these wolverines lasting a more than a few months at work.
I've become such a leather and boot snob since watching these videos. I highly recommend the Rose Anvil wallets if anyone is looking for a new one. So much better than the other wallets I was looking at.
I bought a wolverine durashock for around 120 about a decade ago.. It was high at the time, but ended up being more durable than I thought. I got nearly two years out of them and I still have them actually (all beat up now). Working in construction, stomping around on concrete slabs all day and walking on steep roofs. I was surprised how well they just kept going- because they were super comfortable from day one-- so I assumed they would tear up fast. But for 200, that's not happening. At 100 to 120, competing with the Rockroosters-- that's where they should be. 200 is crazy for these.. and I think they are just leaning on that 'moc toe" to get the sale.
Is it me or Rockrooster seems like a much better boot? not because of the price. In watching both videos, he seems to say much better things about the rockrooster.
Been wearing rockrooster for years now. I have $200+ boots but rockrooster are so damn comfortable. And they look good. The synthetic memory foam type material holds up.
I bought a pair of these boots 2 years ago I can honestly say they are the most comfortable on my feet and after your video it's obviously the sole I work in the concrete construction trade so I'm pretty hard on my boots

I got these for $90 on sale 2 years ago. They hold up well and are comfortable. They are very slippery in the wintertime. They do keep my feet dry. I usually wear a thick wool sock. Still a huge improvement over my Bull Runs. At least these are functional albeit a bit floppy structurally after a bit of wear.
Thanks for another great video. I keep seeing Facebook ads for Drew's boots. They look great, and area a lot cheaper than other Pacific Northwest boots (I think they're made in Mexico?). Can you review them?
Thanks for the breakdown Weston! Ever since I wore through a pair of terribly constructed Calvin Klein dress shoes in high school that I had to wear every day and replaced them with leather shoes, I’ve been obsessed with finding quality boots and shoes that can stand up to at least daily wear and some that can take a punishing. I bought a pair of gore-Tex lined Danner Marine Expeditionary Boots as a hiking/work boot when I was working in rocky Southern California canyons back in 2020 (when they cost $250 brand new) and they’ve held up really well. I love finding smaller brands that make work or casual boots that are high quality and don’t sacrifice construction or materials for profit like almost every single major brand. I’d really like to see you cut open boots from Parkhurst and Oak Street boot makers (to name a few) so we can see quality in more casual to dressy boots from smaller brands. Can’t wait for the next series!
I actually wear Wolverine boots a lot. There's a wide range of quality within the brand so I get their mid-tier stuff. (Goodyear welt and either sanded or full-grain leathers only.) I used to walk 5-10 miles a day on concrete so the squishy outsole helped a lot. I'm okay with a disposable boot after 1,500 miles if it's comfortable enough
Love that you tested the abrasion resistance with the belt sander. It would be helpful information if this test was preformed on the sole and upper of all of the boots you test.

9:53 That boot is all synthetic padding. Look at how thick that insole insert is. Your feet are walking on foam pillows, wrapped in a weatherproof membrane. A cobbler, or you, should be able to carve off & sand down the worn outsole, then glue on a new sole. You could always replace the insole insert as needed. $190 retail. You should be able to buy it for less with coupons and such. A Vibram wedge sole retails for around $40, or around $100 when installed by a cobbler. This boot is good for at least 1 cheap resole. But I wouldn't spend up to $300 for a skilled craftsman to deconstruct the boot and rebuild it with a new welt, midsole, et cetera.
I got a pair of the I-90 full grained leather boots brand new that lasted 2.5 months of bridge construction. While I was working on the I-90 bridge 😂 At the time I was lucky enough to have a pair of Thorogoods for the same price. I had them before and thought they were worn and just wanted to try the wolverines. Thorogoods lasted me two years and 7-8 months with one resole! I’ve since gone from them now onto even beefier boots I didn’t know I needed!
I appreciate people commenting on their real world experience with these. Despite the set of 'test' that were done on them, sound like real world use they do very well.
Rose Anvil is helping us become knowledgeable consumers. I have learned a lot watching your videos, and I am glad for them and effort you are putting into these.
I had a cheaper (120 dollen) Wolverine boot with the same "durashock" sole and it was super comfortable from the first day.. The first thing that wears out is your heel rounds over (when walking on concrete all day). The sole actually does stand up to abuse better than you would think, but it won't last as long as rubber. I used it in construction and walking on steep roofs, and it tends to wear all around that outer edge of the boot too fast.
I'll speak from experience on the longevity of these boots... I have burned through the Danner wedge soles in well under six months (closer to three, really), but my first pair of I-90s still have a decent amount of tread left after more than two years of long days on the construction site. Nothing else that I've used comes close. I picked up a pair of Carolina loggers with a lug sole in the same price range and I had half the tread gone within four months.
@@ElProfe0210 They are very comfortable, but they do have more of a tennis shoe feel after they break down a bit compared to something like a White's Perry.
I bought these boots 8 months ago on Amazon in Canada got a great deal 139.00 and they are lasting a really long time. I am wearing them just casually though. But they are so comfortable i reccomend them 100 percent
Wolverine was the first work boots I ever got. When they stayed getting sold in Walmart (05-06?) The quality definitely went down. I tried several random brand and have settled on redwing for my everyday work boots. On a side note here is my plug again for a cheap hiking boot. Ridgemont has gone beyond my expectations for the price
The camera strap looks neat, I’ve been considering getting one of the rose anvil camera products for my mother as a gift since she does wedding photography. I’ll have my eye out when it drops!
I've been an electrician for 10 years. In that time, I've been using Wolverine Durashocks exclusively on the job; they're incredibly comfortable for me when doing ladder work and have stood up to whatever i throw at them. Due to deterioration from the job itself, each pair of these has lasted me about 3 years on average. I opt to replace them outright as opposed to repair/resole, so this costs me roughly $150 every three years for work footwear. I'm not going to argue with the review here, but I figured I'd share the practical side of the product as opposed to a formal review. Do with this information what you will.
Please do a Russell boot and J.Crew Kenton moc boot. I also am not a huge fan of waterproof liners, however I feel like characterizing them as a plastic bag is unfair. Those are “in house“ goretex liners, patent ran out, they are breathable, however there are many factors on how functional they are. Having the leather soak up water absolutely means it’s just a plastic bag. I would love for you do a deep dive on waterproof liners, how they work, which ones work best, and what products utilize that performance best, which climates and conditions work best, etc.
I’m in the market for hiking boots for an off grid job that’s coming up, and there will be lots of hiking over a glacier and through pretty rough terrain. I hate the idea of waterproof boots, but I know I’ll need it. I’d love to get an analysis on which technologies work best.
Totally agree. I don't need goretex so I'd rather not have it, but it has a job and it does it. Surely bean boots or Timberlands are more water-resistant, but if you compare them to moc toes these are definetely water-resistant boots.
You, amongst many others, have been fooled by the Goretex misinformation advertising tactics. Goretex only releases water vapor when the outside of the liner is much dryer than the inside. That is the opposite of when you need it to perform. Do your homework on it and copy cat liners and don't take my word for it.
@@johnnybarbar7435 this isn’t fully true. It will also release water vapor if the outside is colder than the inside. The heat will push the water vapor through. It’s not a fun experiment but you can get a bucket of very cold water and stick your wet hand in a goretex rain glove submerge it in the bucket and after several minutes your hand will be drier. But this is my problem with goretex and waterproof liners. The conditions for it working as advertised is too extreme. Not sure you read my comment accurately, I said I don’t like Waterproof liners. However maybe I wasn’t clear. I don’t like goretex either. There are a few purposes I like it.
I currently have the wolverine hellcat wedge sole fairly similar love the comfort and so far just shy of 2 years of wear no problems soles are still standing up I use them in a machine shop
I love Moctober! I've been a fan of your channel for a long time now and never get tired of your reviews. Right now I'm leaning toward the thorogood or carolinas but would like to hear about the georgia boot moc toe. Any chance of doing a Georgia Boot cut? Thanks!!
I use these boots at my job as a bartender. Bartending is so destructive on shoes. It’s hard to buy quality stuff because even the extremely well built stuff gets ruined. I’ve found these to be a great option. They’re insanely comfortable right out of the box, and they’re waterproof enough to keep my feet dry behind the bar. I probably wouldn’t go dig trenches in them, but they’re great for what I need them to do.
Hey Rose! I love your reviews, but something i would love to see in your reviews is measurements taken and a review on how it feels to wear the boots as you often try them on. I would love this especially because for me I love boots that has space for my toes whit no squish and it’s not always obvious looking at a boot if it has that, I like a good heritage boot whit a strong heal whit an arch support but prefer the toes to be more on the flexible side, to sum it up I am very picky on how a boot feels on my feet, and what I can do whit my feat while I have them on, so I would love to hear more about that in your videos cause it is so important when you buy an expensive pair of boots.
Got a pair of Wolverine Durashocks in 1999, and they held up good for 5 years until the air cushion in one heel ruptured. They were 6 inch safety toe and the outsole may have even been vibram. Probably would be about $250 today, but haven't seen anything like that for a while.
Thanks for this video. I'd been considering buying a pair of these, now I'm reconsidering. --- You should do more Wolverines, I've had a few pair of them over the years and liked most them. :)
No shank is no big deal if you don't need it. But the fact that it claims to have a shank and then you get on a ladder all day and realize it was a lie--- that's unacceptable.
I haven't worn these exact boots, but have worn wolverine work boots and they do not last at all. You get hot spots and have no real support when standing on a ladder. I had a coworker tell me once you go Redwing you never go back and that has been true for me. Buying at least 15 Redwings over the years I can say treat your feet right, It is the most used part of the body . Redwing is pretty local for all to ,still brick and mortar.
A bit late but as a inexpensive boot Jcrew always has sales. Even at full price you are able to get a Alden indy clone for half price at 300. I’d like to suggest Bordon from Colombia, parkhurst, Truman, caswell boot makers, and BLKBRD
I had a pair of boots for riding my motorcycle 40 years ago. In those days most bikes were strictly kick-start only, and the shank on my kick-start foot snapped and made the boots unserviceable.
@@joshjosh8666 me too! They were my primary work boot before I got the Jim Green Steel Toes boots (with Dr. Scholl's inserts). Now I rotate between them to even out the sole and leather use.
Noticed you've never reviewed any Taft boots. They recently introduced an affordable "365" line (which includes a moc toe for moctober) and a more upscale "Stitchdown" collection, and I think it'd be interesting to see how those lines stack up to their respective competitors at both ends of the spectrum.
Gonna say Golden Fox and RockRooster are the only boot manufacturer's who have paid attention to your video's and did a little bit of learnin from them.
You should break them down into work trades. Say inside warehouse/ on concrete jobs division and then an outside division too. Most won't want an indestructible logger type boot to prance around the warehouse all day, and most loggers don't want ultra plush super squishy cute boots 😂
You should do Thorogoods new budget model # 804-4145 and the Chippewa waterproof Edge Walker’s. Chippewa also has a new unlined work boot that’s still called the Edge Walker and has a leather welt, but it looks very similar to the Thorogood Moc Toe.
I have 10 year old Wolverine moc toes, they look different than what you have in this video. They’ve held up well & I only paid $60 at a going out of business sale from Anderson’s general store in Columbus Ohio.
Id really like to see Red Wings Moc toe work boots cut up and reviewed. Like the 2442/2440 varients. I know the heritage has been featured here plenty but I would love to see how the work variant holds up.
I don't know how I missed this video, but thanks for making it. I have a pair of these in black with the black sole and was curious how they'd stack up to other and what you'd think of them. I bought them because the wolverine durashocks i had back in '97 had one of the best oil resistant soles i could walk on oil coated rippled sheet metal used in roofing freestall barns without slipping and falling on my ass like everyone else was, also they were super comfortable. I've had my i90's for about 4 or 5 years, I don't wear them daily but when I wear them its all day, they are my dedicated boots for riding motorcycles. Only thing I've had happen with them is the moc toe has come a bit undone and worn through from where my shifter hits and the sole on the edge has worn pretty good from dragging it on asphalt from the aggressive lean angle when i ride on winding roads and the inside heel fabric has worn pretty good like all my sneakers do but surprisingly I didn't notice for quite awhile and it in no way has affected the fit or feel. Again thanks for doing the video, I'll buy them again because they fit my needs and they have a few things I prefer in my boots, but your video gave me some new insight. Keep doin what you do man.
I would like to see the Georgia AMP LT moc toe cut up this month. Has some interesting features and seems like it might be a decent boot for the money.
My wifey got me a pair of Wolverine 6 in moctoes at the Boot Barn for my Birthday and they are AWESOME! I tried all the Moctoes on including the Carolinas, Thorogood's, the Woverines, and Hawx. The sales guy recommended the Woverines after I told him I wanted a soft sole and a wide toe box and I LOVE THEM! They are like walking on pillows the sole is so soft! Easily the best boots I've ever had! If you want comfort and durable boots get the Woverines! ❤❤❤
Have you done any Merrell boots? Didn't know they were made by Wolverine until I saw this video. I'd be interested to hear your review on the Merrell Sugarbush.
I was impressed with my bates boot, lasting over 7 years, I didn't know they were made by Wolverine. I did know that they owned Saucony though which kind of look like nock off of asics, well some of them do any way. The problem I have had with merrell is the arch support goes to far back and under the corder of the heal. Thankfully the bates do not have that issue. Also the sole on those bates was hardly warn it was the upper that fell apart. The Plastic pealed off and it looked horrible.
I’m a heritage boot fan but have never bought a pair of Wolverines, in part because of the reviews you’ve aired on the internet. Thanks for saving me some money. My Red Wing 1907s will likely be the last pair of MocToes I buy, but I can’t help looking forward to watching all of your Moctober videos. I bought one pair of Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill boots once. Probably wouldn’t if I’d seen you ever review them. They are nothing to shout about. And the QC leaves something to be desired.
Did you watch that video where the guy tore apart a shell cordovan Higgins? Shocking to put it bluntly. It was a smaller youtube channel, I want to say, "a channel about boots" but not sure.
I enjoy your content and I have a request! I have some wide wide hobbit feet and it's hard to find good moc toes or boots in general. I see a few options but they're from brands less known for good boots. Do you think you could test some X wide boot brands for quality? I'm talking Sketchers, Dunham, New Balance. They all make options for wide boots.
I don't quite see how these are better quality than the rockroosters. The roosters have similar upper leather but a leather welt, a steel shank and a vibram outsole. The Wolverines have water proofness and what else that that is a benefit?
I had a pair of their floorhand's, and they got beat to hell with four years of cinder block dust and mastic remover. Granted they were promptly bees waxed. Not particularly comfortable, and very cold in the winter. The uppers held up well. The soles though got slippery, and their "shank" was a joke.
A few years ago I bought the carbon toe I90s that were regular round toe (I think I only paid like $100). I got them because I needed a metal free safety toe boot for working around mri machines. They were the most comfortable sneaker feeling work boot I'd had. It would be great if you could do a shootout of some composite safety toe boots.
They look like a nice decent pair of casual boots but not a heavy duty 'work' boot. But man they look absolutely comfortable and that's the angle they should advertise. Water proof inner and true comfort casual wear boots.
I'd like to see you try out a pair of Grant Stone Ottawa boots during Moctober. They look like the Indy boots Alden should have made. Thanks for the video!
Well hey, I once bought a pair of boots with a WEAR PROOF outsole. That's value for money right there! (In reality it was a knockoff Vibram commando style rubber outsole, and would you believe it, it has indeed worn.)
At this point ive put in thousands of miles in these. And I think for development these are an interesting technology for the soles. With two different types of rubber/polymer. With a spinal cord injury these really help on days I cant wear my JK boots....
MITUSA suggestion: Gokey USA Tipton work boot, The Supreme, Bison Classic or Chui Safari Boot. Also, SAS Shoes Hatchet chukka. Last suggestion the Keen Braddock mid
From watching this channel I’ve concluded to not buy boots that have a fabric liner of any sort, if there is a leather liner or unlined with the flesh showing it’s going to be a decent boot

lmao Rose Anvil did a Raid Shadow Legends ad. This channel has nothing to do with video games hahahahaaaaaa. Hey I can't blame you man i don't even consider it selling out.
Hi Rose Anvil, can you make a review on the duradero moc toe boots
I second the request for a Duradero showcase. Definitely in the discussion for best value moc toe with the free resole they offer.
hey roseanvil could u do some videos on lace less work boots
I bet these companies are nervous that you keep exposing them. Thanks for what you do!
I bet they don't care. Most people buying work boots will never see these vids. And there's probably tons of people that see the vids, and buy the boots anyway
All they have to do is stop with the false advertising.
They don’t care. Most people don’t understand the benefits of quality boots or want to spend the money.
Only the bad ones. The good ones like showing how their boots are made
@@KurtSimmonsI figured it would be sly half truths or something but these flat out lies are outrageous.
Even though I disagree with Wolverine ranking higher than Rockrooster and Golden Fox, your videos give enough info for us to decide what works for our own needs.
I essentially made the same comment then saw yours! I concur.
Agree.
Agreed, those two brands are cheaper and seem to be better bang for my buck
Especially the Rockrooster, which has an actual vibrams sole. I've had a wolverine "durashock" sole before though, and they do last a long time, at least those center pads do. All that white sole will wear down and round over around the edges and those big pads in the center will still be in good shape. But for 200, this thing is a no-go
I was about to write this exact comment!

I do the same work and wear the same boots! Mine aren’t quite a year old but are holding up great
That’s the difficult part of these videos, you don’t get to see how they hold up long term.
Lol
No safety toe is my only issue with the 1907
Still love this boot. All day comfort is why you get this.
Being able to cut them in half is the key to knowing these things.
How incredibly disappointing of them. It's a real shame these companies keep getting away with being misleading or right out lying. Especially as it degrades the whole brand. Makes you less excited for what can be otherwise great boots/products!
Your review on the 8” rock rooster boot has me sold, especially at 126$ over this contraption of a boot.
@@mattmerseh wedge soles don't really need shanks to be effective
Right on, came here to say the same. When I was watching the Rockrooster teardown I pulled up the Amazon listing... and to my surprise, they had one pair left in my size for $90! Impulse buy. Now having seen them in person, the RRs are definitely more impressive than I'd anticipated-and I'm typically a Thorogood/Red Wing guy. Costing just half of what the Wolverines do ($180/Mens 14 on Amazon today), what Rose Anvil fan *wouldn't* prefer the RRs if forced to choose?
@@TheNewBorkTimes rockroosters don’t come in a medium width and every time I wore them they felt like clown shoes
I support this
I bought these 2 years ago.
So what exactly is better about the boot than the Rockroosters? I could not really figure that out from the review
That's what I was wondering. The Rockrooster seems better in every way. The way he was complaining about the build and the lies of the wolverines I thought it was going to be at the bottom of the list
@@dakken74 Ya. I'm scratching my head on that one too!
Maybe comfort?
I actually use a grip six wallet, its good and has better rfid blocking.

This is a good 70 dollar boot. It's a touch above Walmart shoes
100% looks like a much better boot. This boot looks tacky for 190
@@Tassells77 agreed, I placed a order for the rockrooster last night.
@@Tassells77 Agreed....I'd never buy this boot.

You sold me at the most comfortable moc toe! Starting a new job and I needed some help. Long time viewer! Thanks

Like a boost midsole on a work boot. Sounds like the perfect work on-site supervisor boot
I got a pair of the I-90 full grained leather boots brand new that lasted 2.5 months of bridge construction. While I was working on the I-90 bridge 😂
At the time I was lucky enough to have a pair of Thorogoods for the same price.
I prefer the construction of the rock roosters.
Y de la comodidad de las botas amigo?

Thanks for another excellent review! Any plans to review Russell Moccasin Boots?
I saw these in a boot store near me, but now I’m intrigued, haha. I did notice how soft that sole was.
Have to showcase the Duradero boots. Definitely a player in the best value Moc Toe space with the added free resole.
I wear these boots everyday for work lol. They’ve held up since February. Comfortable, solid. I do commercial electrical.
Electricians could wear tennis shoes and be fine. Let us know when you do real work. 👍
Got a pair of Wolverine Durashocks in 1999, and they held up good for 5 years until the air cushion in one heel ruptured. They were 6 inch safety toe and the outsole may have even been vibram. Probably would be about $250 today, but haven't seen anything like that for a while.
You should start reviewing hiking/hunting boots. Kenetrek, la sportiva, crispi ect.
Thanks for this video. I'd been considering buying a pair of these, now I'm reconsidering. --- You should do more Wolverines, I've had a few pair of them over the years and liked most them. :)
No shank in a work boot seems like a very major miss.
No shank is no big deal if you don't need it. But the fact that it claims to have a shank and then you get on a ladder all day and realize it was a lie--- that's unacceptable.
It's a wedge sole. Red Wings' moc toes don't have it either
@@calholli it claims to have a nylon shank to be fair
I haven't worn these exact boots, but have worn wolverine work boots and they do not last at all. You get hot spots and have no real support when standing on a ladder. I had a coworker tell me once you go Redwing you never go back and that has been true for me. Buying at least 15 Redwings over the years I can say treat your feet right, It is the most used part of the body . Redwing is pretty local for all to ,still brick and mortar.
Been through 15 pairs snd they're great. Been wearing g a pair of keeps and danners off and on for 4 years now.

Like to see the Carolina vs the Chippewa cut in half. Really interested to see if there are any differences since they have the same parent company

Duradero boots would be an interesting boot to review, very affordable and offer a free resole with purchase
The Plastic pealed off and it looked horrible.
you so much for the review! Been waiting for this a long time😊

Would love to see you review the LUCCHESE Lace Up Range Boot for Moctober
Keep up all the good work man! ❤
I have 2 pairs of Hush Puppies 1958s (the OG construction) and the foam rubber soles make them super comfortable
