I had intermittent no crank no start. It was K40 module and or starter relay. Changed both for $25 at the junkyard. Found trans fluid on the TCM connector so opened up TCM to find fluid on the PCB and inside the case. It was not a lot but there was some on the PCB. Also took covers off connectors and cleaned the pins. Caught it in time. Will need transmission harness plug change.
Did you RECODE your Front-SAM after swapping it from your old Merc?? (unless it's known bad, the easiest is to keep original SAM) I believe Xentry/DAS has some sort of buil-in troubleshooters menus to help narrow things down... Is the PSE module part of the Authorization ring??? try plugging back original unit for a quick check... To cover all your bases: Go to the obvious first !
holy shit im experiencing the SAME EXACT situation with my 2001 e320 after replacing the trans conductor plate + plug. Haven't checked the TCM yet but I will now thanks to this video. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS
@@Kitwilbur My issue was VERY strange and not typical at all compared to the rest of the 722.6 transmission problems. My 01 e320 was not cranking at all, but would crank if I unplugged the TCM or the conductor plate (original problem was leaking plug, and fluid in TCM). I replaced the TCM but still the problem persisted. It turned out to be the little spring loaded switch (starter lock out/temperature module) on the brand NEW conductor plate (shitty ebay Bapmic brand). I replaced with OEM conductor plate and the car cranks like normal and drives perfect!!
Check the CAN wire between EIS and Engine control unit. Since it says CAN communication fault. Steering unlocks but Drive authorisation not completed, between EIS and Engine control unit. Green and Green/white twisted wire set. Since it's A/T , check CAN wire at A/T module also.
please help my c280 v6 does the same thing it sometime start well ,sometimes doesn't start ,sometime when it drives it it just switch off then have to wait for few minutes then it start ,when this problem start it showed abs light on and off then comes on, you could feel when engine idling car is shaking I don't know what could be the problems had replace crank sensor and fuse control box and now doors doesn't lock automatically when I drive please help I'm in South Africa sifiso@yfm.co.za
ruclips.net/video/5nVPBeHRAp4/видео.html that about sums up what my problem was. I didn't have any engine idle issues like you describe so you might have a different problem. As for the intermittent starting though, I'm not sure if you have the same transmission as me, but for me the transmission control unit was covered in transmission fluid ( it had wicked up from the sensor). I had already cleaned out the transmission conductor plate, and plug beforehand but I hadn't checked the actual transmission control unit under the hood. So after I had already cleaned out the plug the fluid that had built up in the control unit just wicked back down to the plug and caused the same issues as before. TLDR: If you're replacing the plug/conductor plate on the transmission, make sure to check the control unit under the hood as well (the unit right next the the k40 relay I believe)
Check the neutral start switch, it might be disconnected or loose or out of sinc with the mechanical linkage for neutral/,park. your car will crank a quarter revolution sometimes in gear. There should be a neutral start switch beside your transmission, bypass it and try again. Caution!! If the transmission is in gear and it starts it will run over you or through the door.
Had the same problem.an it took a trip to the auto parts.an bought a 40 fuse an test light an took the bottom cover under the steering wheel.the problem was a fuse an connection negative and positive relay that cost 8$ an was in the same spot as the fuses..an been starting with no problems.my boy did it.if he can do it.anybody can...all together cost was less than fifteen dollars....
Hi . Mercedes produces only shit now with its fucking electronic parts . These cars won't never be like the Old ones : w123 or w124 series .Sorry to say this but it is the truth. I Will never buy this shit of Mercedes .i have a 250 diesel 1987 ,5 cylinders With 488.000 kms .it runs very well .no electronic at all . I Will post some photos next time
How to check transmission fluid where I'm a dum bunny here please help and thanks

Did you check fuel pump?
If you have a security activation you also have to use the key blade in the door

crank or cam shaft sensor...
Interior motion detector hmmm

Crank sensor driver side back of engine
So total cliffhanger? Did you figure it out?
Hey my apologies, I just updated the description explaining what happened and the solution. Sorry for leaving this unsolved for so long!
My 02 e320 is doing the same rn
Dealer security lockout is possible
