In the peak of the Fall trout bite, we set out for 4 days of picturesque Dry Fly Fishing in the Southern BC East Kootenay's. With no time to waste, follow along as we try our chance at the beautiful Native Westslope Cutthroat Trout in a world renowned blue ribbon stream. Fly Fishing for these beautiful fish is always an amazing time, but dry fly fishing in the fall, surrounded by the mountains, just hits different.

Man this vid has me pumped. I will be in Fernie for 3 days of fishing next July. Already have a spot booked at the same RV park!! I would love to visit and fish it in the fall one day!!

Nice video. Did you throw any nymphs or streamers when the dry bite was off (e.g. day three morning or evening, etc.)? ☮ from Idaho, USA.
Cheers! Thanks for checking out the video, glad you enjoyed it. Played around with some nymphs off camera which was also fairly productive. The majority of size came on the drys. Alot of bull trout in this river and they just love streamers. Need to target them one day
My friend had the Alberta Record for west Cutthoat, 10.5lb up in a small Alpine lake, Lake Louise Area,
Tied the fish up in the lake, went down the next morning , Bear eat his Record fish!! no shit.
Easiest meal the bear ever had! But in all seriousness that is a bigggg cutthroat!thanks for sharing John!
Recommended camping spots near where you were fishing? Near a local town?
Hey John, it depends what kind of camping you want to do. The local town would be Fernie. If you throw her on google maps you will find a ton of options 🤙

We were set up at the campground off the river in Fernie as homebase🤙

Everyday from late June till late October is non stop cutties and if your lucky you hook up on a big bull🤙🏼
