    I bought a Basin today. Picking it up after running either Tuesday or Wednesday. Wouldn't mind a flagship bow eventually though, but i think I'll be happy with this purchase for a few years

    Budget bows don't get enough recognition by reviewers and I get that, most reviewers own shops and want to sell the higher end bows. Anyone who asks me, I recommend starting out with a budget bow and upgrading accessories first. Mid-upper grade accessories and arrows darn near add up to as much as a bow and I think that's where newer archers would get the most benefit from. When it comes time to upgrade the bow, that's all you need because you are already set with everything else to swap over and the budget bow and RTH package can be handed down or given to another for a starter.
    I started with a Diamond SB-1 and by the time I upgraded to a flagship, I definitely appreciated it more and the money I put into it. One thing I did is swap out the plastic sliders with PSE rollers. They make it a bit smoother, less wear on the strings, and in the case with my Diamond, it made it even slightly quieter, which is well worth the $30.
    Genuinely appreciate the variety of reviews and consistency of the testing. Every bow and every reviewer is going to have slightly different results, so consistency matters most. Appreciate it and look forward to more coming.

      I agree 💯 with what you said in the beginning, starting out buy a budget bow and upgrade quality accessories first 👌. Great advice for anyone new to the sport.

    About to pick one of these up and you mentioned the Winners Choice Strings. Most retailers list this bow as stock strings that you can upgrade to Winners Choice strings. That should be added to the $699 rts package price right? Or am I misreading their adds and the Winners Choice are now a standard on it?

    I have a Terrain on the wall if you'd like to use it for a review, also comparing it to the Basin and/or Torrex. Lemme know.

    I love my Basin best “budget” bow I have ever owned and used. I use my Basin when I sit in my blind. When I sit in my stand then I carry and use my Omnia. Great review of this bow. I feel if someone is wanting to get into archery and archery hunting this is the bow the
    beginner should purchase. I also like the CBE tactic sight. In fact I also put the CBE micro tactic 5 sight on my Omnia.

      Pick one: Quest Thrive, Bear Adapt, Elite Basin, PSE Brute NXT. Which one would you pick and why?

    Try using a little bit of Vaseline on cable rod slide. That is what we do and it never sticks. One of my family members told me to try it years ago. It works and it's easy. I have a mission bow and I put it on the cable rod slide once a year and never had it freeze or stick.

    I appreciate your reviews and feel that you are being honest in your evaluation. I am currently hunting with a recurve but have been saving up to buy a compound for hunting as well. I haven’t finished the review, but how does it compare to the Bear Adapt RTH package?

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  Год назад +1

      Ohhhhh man I love the adapt and the package is one of the better ones, very different bow/ feel. I like the package on the basin the best, the adapt was so smooth and comfortable, good quality on both, basin better quality if I’m splitting hairs. Preference I would shoot the adapt.

    Concerning your chronograph, fluorescent tubes flicker at a speed that chronographs don't like, as the lights appear to switch off in the pickups. Manufacturers often suggest you use a standard filament globe for your light source, and/or use a top screen for an even lit background for your arrows.

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  Год назад

      We often compare inside and outside results and honestly they are all similar within 3-4 fps, watch the vtm review, and as I’ve mention before we test all the bows in house in the exact same way, so end the end they can accurately be compared to one another which is all I care about, in the beginning I would test every bow inside and out now we just stick with inside do to weather or any other variable I cannot control seems to be the best way to get the most done

    Hey guys! I need your help. I started with 3d archery this year. I began with a cheap Drake pathfinder bow. Now I want a bow wich is more accurate. Will I group the arrows more narrow with this bow???

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  Год назад +1

      Would def be an upgrade, I would say you would find the basin to be more stable yes. Tight groups come with reps.
