Man I love your videos! Your honesty and personality are awesome. You’ve helped me make a lot of archery based decisions. Thank you and please keep your videos coming.
It is hard - but I like to make it real - if you buy a bow what you might experience. The Envision was a few minutes and shot amazing. 3 hours on this one and not great. I love the Ember and it should be the same.
The best way to describe the Basin is that it is a bigger version of the Ember peaking at 70lbs instead of 60 and the draw goes from 16-30 instead of 15-29 Both are great bows
I find your review to be interesting as I like my Elite Basin. I bought it in December of 2024...so possibly there have been a few minor changes. Mine did come with a stabilizer. It seems to fit me and feels good to me. No complaints here but I did appreciate your review.
Maybe - what about a customer who buys this bow and has the same issue? If you saw the video I did not the TS330 I spend 6 hours on that bow made new strings and cables. I think this bow should come set at 29" with limb stops fitted and timed and a chart showing what number is what draw. But yes I will try and see how many twists to get it right- see if I can get it right and then the difference.
@@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale if a customer buys this bow and has the same issues then your video highlights what the problem might be rather than them thinking it's just a crap bow. By doing a second video you can show what a potential customer can do to remedy the problems and what the bow actually performs like. Good for the customer and good for your business so a win for all.
To my eye, that top cam is definitely slow. Freeze frame at full draw and your arrow is nock high, and the cams seem way out of time. (Bottom cam looks more turned over by 10-15 degrees)
Couldn’t agree more. Def something up with this particular bow and not the actual design of the basin. A cam that far out of time will def make the bow feel exactly like he says and be horrible to shoot.
Thanks for your video. Was thinking about getting this bow for this season but I am having second thoughts. The thing that I hate about the outdoor world is there are so many people on youtube that are bought and paid for and you don't know who to believe because they will say what ever the manufacturers tell them to say so they can keep getting a kick back paycheck or free products. Thanks
And it is on maxium. This review took 3 hours setting the draw and stops checking the timing. With the Envision it was out the box and shoot. I timing changes just at the end.Elite strings have always been good too. So I suppose the question is how many twists to get it right.
Love your reviews, but that bow is a mile out of time! Watching on slow motion i can see how far behind the top cam is.. i wish you would fix the timing and give an update on how it shoots. Although Elite should never have shipped a bow out in that condition! Thanks for your great work 👍
I did check it on a timing board and it just changes at the last second. I did not think it would have a big effect. The TS330 I did I spent hours trying to tune that bow - even made new strings - But yes I will retune this one and see how long it takes and then reshoot and see the difference. But the draw length issue too.
The strings seem to stretch and make it hard to time. Had the same issue with some of the embers last year. You may also want to check to make sure the modules are exactly the same. I struggle to get them in the same settings sometimes. Almost like they don’t quite line up properly.
Hey Steven. Beside Envision try also compare with Ember, as both look similar. Would like to know your thoughts Basin vs. Ember, as I love shoot with Ember
Hi there from the UK Steve, I'm sure you know the difference between an elite basin and an elite bison you can't wash your hands in an elite bison 😂 lol love listening to your videos very informative and very relaxing, because you take your time and go through all the important issues carefully and thoroughly, also your a shit hot 🔥 archer and your passion for the sport really shines through, keep doing what you do baby Inspiring people towards this wonderful pastime ATB Dave
I like a longer more stable bow and am looking to replace my solution. Would you recommend the remedy or envision. And do you have Mathews? Or just keep my solution? Thank you for the great reviews.
I ask myself the same question. Everyone in the shop shot the Envision after the review it is really good. I think I will setup both and do video comparing
Idk if this bow has those sliding draw stops of old elites but I’ll never own another. I had a elite tempo which I loved the bow but 2 different times 1 of the draw stops cam lose even after lock tight and you don’t notice it tell after the shot and the arrow flys all over the place I just couldn’t trust shooting at a deer and the draw stops come lose and you end up wounding it
Good review. Shame there is def something not right with that particular bow. How about unboxing another and giving that a try. I’m guessing that bow had issues as even the sight was damaged when you unboxed it. It’s got to be better than this one shot surely…? Try another if you can and do a follow up video pls.
Dont know if you saw the one I did on the TS330. I spent 2 hours trying to time that bow. So then we made a set of strings and tried again. Same issues - One of the viewers said it was always an issue. I suppose my point is that the bow out of the factory should be timed. But yes I will try again to time it. See if it makes a difference. But you would buy the Envision everyday.
That thing looks like the limbs are gonna fly off of it when you let when you let go when you release that arrow is like them limbs are flipping down so hard
One thing with bear is u can't beat there package that comes with some of there bows. There sight and biscuit are alot better quality then other brands
I know both set on maximum. The timing was good right up till it rocked over. The bottom one moves but the top one does. When I setup a new press I will take a closer look.
great video as always. A Basin is a depression or dip... really like Elite bows but they are not the best when coming up with the names of them :) This does not sound or feel like an elite, guessing like PSE and others the entry level bows are imports not actuated made/designed by the brand. The draw length adjustment mod looks identical to a direct from China imports I see at the range here but with a limb stop slapped on. *the reason Elite doesn't mark draw length on the for what pin holes is its different depending on what poundage its set to. guessing wound down to minimum weight you can get the full 30" draw...same with the limb stop, less let off equals less draw length
I can understand the Envision being a much better bow because of the technology but why did Elite machine an inferior grip on the Basin? When programmed into a CNC machine there would be no cost increase in using the Envision grip.
Good honest review, Steven. Such a shame that Elite had to spoil their reputation by producing this disappointment alongside the obviously outstandingly good Envision, even considering the price comparison. Remain anticipating Elite's next year's longer target bow featuring the Envision technology. Should be a beauty. Will it tempt me away from my TRX36 ?
The Envision everyone shot at the shop and were like wow. They are then like how is the Remedy, How would it shoot with target. Would the Basin be different timed?
The basin is a youth/woman’s bow. That’s the archers that it’s targeted towards. The terrain is the price point adult bow which you will find to shoot much better. You also need to take into consideration that this bow is produced in the northern part of the US and climate does have an effect on strings. Especially in this particular system for some reason. I never have issues with timing on any other elite bow besides this cam system.
You like binary cam bows and not twin cam bows. Me too.:) Probably everyone does. Binary are always more expensive than twin. Elite says "Here, a good one and a cheap one. Take your pick". LOL
Why do you think that they make a cheap bow is it to get people in the archery or is it that it feels so bad that they shoot the high end bow I involve and they realize how good it feels so bills so they buy that 1
Maybe Elite should have chosen a different name for this model to better describe your shooting experience. Perhaps "Commode," or maybe "Depression" or "Trough." The review reminded me of the first compound bow I ever bought. It was produced by Mission about 6 or 7 years ago and was called the "Rally." I bought it because it was longer axle to axle, and I'm a tall person (6 feet 2 inches). That bow was difficult to tune and would not hold a tune, probably the worst model that Mission has ever produced. Mission makes some great entry level bows, but the Rally was not one of them.
you're cam timing is way off. Thats why there is so much vibration and the hy and low is off. First make it right and a review steven after thats done.
I’ve seen a few of your reviews. They were good. This was terrible. You can’t review a bow not set up properly and give an honest assessment. Come on man your better then that
"Basin" in the U.S. means a bowl or depression in the landscape that may or may not collect water. Seems like a weird name for a bow. In Missouri, U.S.A., still about 30 - 40% won't get vaccinated, so I expect a bad winter here for Covid. Unvaccinated guy that I know just got off two months on a ventilator, surprised he survived. Still needs a cane and oxygen.

I think this bow deserves a second review once it has the cams timed properly to do it justice, it's not fair on the bow or to Elite otherwise.

looks like the limb stops top and bottom are set in completely different places..one almost max and one min. or is one cable stop and one limb stop?
could you compare the basin to similarly priced bows? for us on a budget.
I have a pse atk stinger , I’m a short guy at 5”2 draw is a 21.5, weight I’m shooting is 50 lbs , would this be an upgrade from the pse stinger
Hi was wondering if you could do a video on the obsession tm33 love your vid on the hb33
