The Philippines is a very special place to me. Traveling around the country for 4 months was one of my all-time favorite travel experiences. Filipino food and Filipino people were the two biggest reasons for my wonderful memories across the country.
I decided to venture off to National City in Southern San Diego to visit the popular Filipino community to try as much Filipino food as possible in 1+ Days. I was told this was the best Filipino food in San Diego, so I went to four different Filipino restaurants to find out for myself.
We started the day eating Pandesal, Carioca and Bibingka at Valerio's Bakery in National City. Then it was right next door to Tita's Kitchenette for a ton of Filipino dishes; including Pork Adobo, Sisig, Pancit, Kare-Kare, and Lumpias.
Next we went to Manila Sunset for Bangus and Halo-Halo; two great Filipino food dishes. Last, but definitely not least, the following day we went to Porky's Lechon where Mike setup a massive Kamayan Feast featuring Lechon.
It was an incredible Filipino Food experience in San Diego, California!

Oh my gosh, do a Convoy Crawl with some of the other Asian food there! There’s tons of really cool places. Little Italy is also super cool to run through cause its so nice. I’d also say Liberty station, the Embarcadero and the new construction that happened there. La Jolla/UTC has changed so much and I personally haven’t explored a lot of North County, so if you did a video there that’d be so cool! Love all the new videos, keep it up.
Do not underestimate the Filipino audience. They love seeing their food represented. 🇵🇭😁

I'm from Texas, but live now (retired military) full time in the P.I. Married a beautiful Filipina, and we've been together almost 14 years. They make fresh bibingka, daily, just a few miles from our house. And Pandesal is STILL my No.1 love! Straight hot, out of the oven, in the early morning. Can't beat it!

I'm a taiwanese-filipino. Because of the pandemic that happened, I was forced to stay here at my mom's family which are filipinos and bruh-I'm not even complaining. I love how they served delicious dishes that melt my soul whenever I get the taste of it.

We did something like this before in the house of Filipino friend. I was so shocked seeing bunch of weird food . Im fond of eating asian food, japanese, chinese,thai as they are the best but this one is beyond my expectation. Filipino food I would say is one of the best food ever.. delicious is understatement and filipino food is Soo underated...

I love the rice cake with banana leaf, lechon, noodles with vegetables, halohalo, everything is so yummy except for fish sauce and duck egg with embryo 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

@@thejedi111 I'm from the US and they tell us it is too saturated for the heart, but want us to use the vegetable oils that are very processed. The coconut oil is natural.
@@Lisa-cn2uu in my personal opinion and choice, coconut oil is better. I use it for cooking. I stopped using palm and other kinds of cooking oil since this oil has many health benefits.

Most vloggers who knows about Filipino cuisine features the variety of Filipino foods in their vlogs because it draws a lot of subscribers and viewers. They have the feeling of satisfaction and fullness without eating the real food, because they know how tasty it is to have the opportunity to eat these delicious delicacies. It's more like a torture for people who are watching because the food is hard to prepare and it's quite expensive in the USA. In the Philippines is better because it's a lot cheaper, yet it's equally delicious. Thanks for liking our traditional foods.

When it comes to kamayan, there is a rule that you can eat with your hands and all, but for me and my community we usually just bring a spoon (its used to spread sauce and sometimes finish up the leftovers)

The best thing about Pandesal is it's BASIC. You can do anything with it. Combo it with any sort of pansit or spaghetti (Filipino), spread ice cream on it, makeshift it into a pizza bread, dip it on hot choco, dunk it on coffee (with/without cream), make it into a garlic bread... anything your (genius or mad) mind could think of.

you have to search better as you have Cochinilio (lechon) in Spain. I found them in Barcelona and Madrid. Lechon is also a traditional dish in Spain and latin America though they call it differently.
